SoulCalibur 20th Anniversary Video

  • Admin
Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new SoulCalibur video that showcases the series. Take a look as the franchise evolves from Soul Blade to Lost Swords. As they say time and time again, "The Legend Will Never Die".

It also appears that a new website is being constructed as seen in the description of the video: http://projectsoul.bn-ent.net/

Update: Use this link if you are getting an error clicking the other one: http://projectsoul.bn-ent.net/20th/

WHENS SOULCALIBUR VI
This is too much good stuff happenning. I hope, I HOPE there is a proper new title coming up. New PS website, high quality anniversary video, and imo the brilliant pachislot video (it was really nice to see some brand new and high quality rendered cutscenes and stuff). Also the Facebook "activities", the anniversary merch.... Somehow the "The legend will never die" at the end of the anniversary video gave me more hope. So please PS, make the legend never die...

It's about time to release a new SC, starting to get tired about those bunch of 2D games

What did you have in mind? Because I just assume that the meaning of remaster is just the graphics being "updated" in some way.
To explain, there are 3 console versions of SC3: NTSC which is American version; PAL which is European; and JPN which is Asian. Since you're from the UK you get the PAL version of SC3 which I believe is the better version than NTSC but second to JPN.

After the console versions you have the improved Arcade Editions which I believe came in 3 different versions one after the other; there's version A, then B and finally C. It's not very common to see Arcade Editions at the time when the arcade scene was still alive and those who are lucky get a chance to play it.

Arcade edition does more than balance tweaks compared to their console version; they also change move sets to certain characters like Zasalamel.

In regards to C, even fewer ppl are lucky to get a try out of it; I believe one of USA's lucky American player, Linkrkc from the state of Texas is the one who tried it when he travelled to compete in the Japanese tournament SBO. Where I'm from, I only tried version B.

Because only a handful tried C; me, JAGTHEGEMINI, and probably a few others are curious to see how far SC3 AE ver C goes.

I remember a guy (maybe Chinese) sayin there was one more version & it wasn't (ever proven to be) true. Forgot what version it was (but I'm thinkin C or maybe it was D).

I met Link when he came over here.

I am talking about arcade version(s) which is VASTLY superior to the SC3 console one. I do not know if a SCVI based on SCV is the right thing since SCV was pretty soon abandoned by important players.

Well at least they did not forget about it. A VR soulcalibur/Edge would be killer. They should just reboot.
VR is all about hand to hand combat in most of the games so a new Soulcalibur Legends would fight right in.

This reminded me of how Pokemon Sun and Moon was revealed, except it was missing the bit where the new game gets teased for a few seconds. If this just had a Soulcalibur VI logo with "Coming Soon" or something at the end, I would have loved this video instead of being lukewarm about it. That may be a bit too critical of an opinion for a video like this; I think I'm just tired of the teases, and want to see what this has all been leading to already.

But more importantly, why was Soulcalibur Legends not highlighted in the video? I actually kind of liked that game...

^Pretty sure everybody wants SC6 out; however, they didn't show anything SC6 related.
Project Soul (or whoever runs the official Soulcalibur Twitter page) referred to the video as a retrospective one so there wouldn't have been any SCVI in it.

Also, quick question, has anyone translated this part of the timeline under 2016:

I imagine that it is probably something to do with the slot game though.
