[10] Knight
Reference? It doesn't look that bad to be a placeholder... Symphony of the night had a place holder ui that ended up in final.apparently that character select screen is just a placeholder.

Quoted for emphasis. One of the interviews, Okubo stated that what you see now isn't indicative of the final roster number.

If they are going the DLC route, I can definitely see a year 0 (Launch), year 1, year 2, etc. which would be really great. If they went the Killer Instinct route and kept adding to the game every year would be really nice.It just seems to weird they'd opt to put in a bunch of "random" circles and only have Mitsurugi and Sophitia as available choices. I'd imagine that the dev team figured out super early which characters they were going to work on, and then designed a select screen based on the final release-date available characters.
Obviously DLC characters could shuffle things about but no one is arguing that.

Could be that those are the characters that they currently have working in game and just blanked out their faces to get it to the show.It just seems to weird they'd opt to put in a bunch of "random" circles and only have Mitsurugi and Sophitia as available choices. This sounds like some heavy self denial hope... Keep telling yourself that and eventually you'll believe it's true.Could be that those are the characters that they currently have working in game and just blanked out their faces to get it to the show.

Unless there is an actual reference/quote, it's looking like 20 is the number.
Oh, there will be DLC characters. Lots of them at worst. Hope for the best outcome since they already have it in mind to withhold some as DLC.Since this character select screen got out, everyone seems to be looking for quantity instead of quality. 20 characters are more than enough for the base game, better to have fully fleshed characters than rushed ones with something broken to exploit. People are forgetting that DLC chars could potentially happen but I kinda hope that's not the case; I personally hope they even start us off with 10 characters and let us unlock the rest of the cast by playing the game instead of buying dlc, like how past SC games did things
I've leaked a few at this point. So I'll go down the list for you guys here.I think it was leaked via Verge in the 500+ page long thread. I may be wrong. The only one who is likely to be included given what has leaked is Maxi so far. With either Siegfried or Nightmare being picked with the other cut being highly likely, I can't even say which one.
Heard Zasalamel is "very likely" but not with surety that he's in,
so it wouldn't be a massive leap in logic to say there's a chance he could be DLC.
Since Season Passes are in vogue and common practice now, it is mostly likely going to be handled that way in terms of adding new characters. But I have no idea what gap inbetween putting the characters out would be or anything like that.asdklfjEWOIFJldfjaoie
Oh thank goodness.
On the topic of DLC characters, do we have any ballpark as to what "lots" could mean, and how often it's coming? For example: something like a (correctly executed) SF5-esque once a month type deal would probably be more welcomed than what SC4 and SC5 did with the "other console/pre-order time release exclusive" nonsense, and that was only one character. Calibur is a series that I don't really have a problem throwing money at, especially if it expands gameplay in a meaningful way.
In addition, do you know if we're going to see DLC characters interact with the story mode in any meaningful way? Or are we going to maybe get the possibility of something like Algol in his SC5 attire in moveset as DLC, even though storyline wise he shouldn't "fit"? I think a lot of people would be completely fine with having some storyline jank as DLC if it means they get to play as their favorite characters.
And again, thanks for sticking around and giving us a steady stream of information.
I'll just tell you all right now: stop thinking about the previous timeline and canon. Aspects are the same and similar, but don't expect all the same events to be retold the same way.I think the story will cross multiple time lines.
If the story begins 22 years before SC6, that would be when Talim was born. pretty much to the year. That might be a interesting story point to have a baby Talim fought over.
She always was a cutie. :)
But if she is playable then the story would need to jump forward in time a lot. So the story could have multiple time points but in arcade or vs they could all fight.
