"Please look forward to collaborations with other works!" - Guest Character Speculation Thread

Honestly I can't imagine a better guest than Geralt. He's cool, he's extremely popular in the West, he's the main char of one of the most appreciated games of the last years (The Witcher franchise tops 25 million copies sold all over the world). He's absolutely perfect.

Perfect not acceptable yes.

Perfect absolutely desirable yes.

So Geralt is basically confirmed for SC6?

Bandai Namco retweet then they removed the retweet

Still seems early enough for a guest reveal.
  • Ezio revealed in October, three months before release.
  • The Star Wars characters revealed in January, six months before release.
Guess this might be because this is the closest major gaming event even though there's one of the major comic cons, but that would likely make Geralt or whoever one of the last reveals.

I just had a thought of something just now. If Geralt of Rivia is indeed the guest for SCVI, what if he's also the father of Groh, we've been hearing about? From a design stand point, they're somewhat "similar," being swordsmen with silver hair and dark leather clothing. They're also from regions of Northern Europe (although Geralt is from a fictional world). There was a debate about if Witchers and Sorceresses can have children and, supposedly, Geralt may have been able to. Making a Geralt canon to SoulCalibur VI would be like Akuma being made canon to Tekken 7.

Sorry, but you have to think about it from a copyright point of view. I mean correct me if I am wrong, but the source company won't allow changes to a character's biography.

Even if Gerald is the guest, I'm still expecting a Square Enix guest character. Likely Cloud or Sora, with both FF7 remake and KH3 on the horizon.

Though Zoro from One Piece would still be bada$$.

Or why not all of them? TEKKEN 7 has 3 guest characters. SC can have at least that as well!

i'd love to fight as Sora, and i'm sure having Sora as a guest character would bring lots of KH fans in

Just kind of hope that Geralt's style is available for custom characters since it's not really something that'd significantly stand out among other swordsmen with magic. Fat chance though.

Yes, yes, we all know everyone wants that weeb bullshit.
Call me crazy, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t even suggest someone else. Don’t get all bent out of shape because somebody doesn’t like the same things you do. You’ll have a harder time talking to people if you do.

It’s a guest man, they can’t make them significant in any way. T7 didn’t either.

The problem is, I don't really care if Geralt ends up in the game or not. I don't generally play guest characters, and most of us around here generally don't either. Which is why it boggles my mind that people are complaining. Nobody cares if you think Geralt, or whoever the guest ends up is boring. You probably find members of the regular cast boring as well.

Nobody can care, but I don’t exactly think the reason people post about it is for people to care but to express their opinions on something, or am I wrong?

But witchers are sterile, so he couldnt be his biological father, he would be adopted, like Ciri

Important character details shouldn't be impacted by a random side-quest in a fourth-party game that's both optional and likely non-canon to said game.

Yeah I know, I just like the idea of Geralt and Yennefer having a superkid.

Grøh won’t be Geralt’s kid because the latter might not be sterile anymore - it’ll be because that’s more ridiculous than a flash flood on a mountain peak.
