This was for OXM to have bragging rights of playing the newest build before everyone else because after Geralt was revealed last month the cover story was about Geralt's inclusion in SCVI. This was a teaser for the cover story for this month's issue from last month's issue talking about SCVI & State of Decay 2.

Perhaps the Official XBox Magazine is the reason we haven't seen the new build yet. If they paid for exclusive first access to Ivy/Zas/Geralt Bamco could hardly give it to conventions for the public to try out before the magazine with exclusive first scoop is out. Now that it's out of the way we may start seeing the new build show up more (I hope).
 
That sounds about right. Xbox probably did pay for exclusive reveal of the new build. Three more characters in the build means next news break is probably more character reveals. I really just need yoshimitsu to be confirmed because thats my shizz. Hoping they incorporate some older awesome moves with SC4 iron fist tekken move system I would be happy, very happy. Or it might be something totally different who knows..
 
I'll do some speculation boring about SCVI... I had the hope to be cast in June or E3, but now I starting believe in the end of year, especially because the Game Award, since that this year the Namco should got the fighting game winner with DBFZ then SCVI will be hold to participate at 2019 ie after the window to participate Game Award in 2018 that makes some sense I think.
About the chars I believe in max 24 chars however a lot of DLC chars really many including guest chars.
Creation mode should be censored (or limited if prefer) to avoid ridiculous abuse. and a lot of DLC too.

Judging by this sounds like the main storyline (or at least one of the story archs) will consist on Geralt travelling to a new plain and embarking on an adventure there. A travel through time and space which will cover events from SC I to III? Maybe he could be able to change some of those events...

Could be a nice way to justify all of those characters we loved from this saga (as Zasalamel which has already been officially revealed). Sounds great but I sincerely hope we will also get to play a brief story for every main character.

Didn't even realize at first, but it seems like a new character that isn't revealed yet? I mean if it was Groh or Geralt they would just say Groh, or Gerat, right? right?

One guest is enough. Tekken 7 killed chances of adding Julia, Lei, Anna, etc, by adding 3 guests.
SCVI should not repeat the same mistake, and be proud of having one (great) guest. I prefer to have legacy (and somewhat unlikely compared to safe vets as Taki, Voldo, etc..) characters as Seong Mi-Na, Raphael and Hilde to return rather than additional guests. IMO, Geralt is enough.
 
Is it just me, or does it seem like the Xbox magazine people didn't get to play a new demo? It's hard to discern from how little they actually wrote about the game itself (the overwhelming majority of the article is about the challenges of developing a guest character) but aside from a vague reference to Ivy having little armor to even break (which could be a guess or a general comment about her design) there's nothing in the writing in reference to how the three latest characters play. They didn't even mention Zasalamel.

I was disappointed why I read the interview before I posted it here, but it's truly a new build. OXM played a Japanese voiced demo with Ivy, Zas, & Geralt in it. Why would the staff at OXM talk about some SCVI Ivy's armor destruction if they didn't play the newest build?

So? The six-character build we've been seeing has had both English and Japanese-voiced versions depending on the event. This doesn't tell us anything.

Here is a idea why don't we make our own judgement on what to make of these OXM descriptions and think of it this way:

If they is a Ivy,Zas and Geralt demo that's great and we could hopefully get to see it in the future. (Which is what I personally think is the case :D )

If not well I'd rather have them working on the actual game anyway than spending time and resources on a demo to potenially only watch scrubs play it. (Depending who can go)

either way they is a positive side.

So basically roll on any given future date on a Thursday for the most chances for more news ^^

Maybe OXM played against Ivy and saw armor destruction on her.

OXM talks about Kaer Morhen(The 4th stage out of 12). It has Hunt Or Be Hunted as the stage theme.

There were two interesting things I noted from the OXM article. They mention cutscene voice work for Geralt. This could mean intro and win animations, but maybe he appears in some kind of story mode. They also mention that they like how his appearance is woven into the game, but they can't elaborate since it would count as a spoiler. Maybe another hint he's got some kind of story role?

It reads very much like a typical preview written by the press. Unless the author spends a lot of time on the demo, or it's someone's who's very familiar with SC, you'll just get a lot of generic fluff like this article. It feels like a third or half of the article is just a repeat of the stuff mentioned in the Geralt preview video Namco released some weeks ago.
