Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I think Setsuka would make a lot of sense as DLC, too. Man, i hope she won't be left out of this iteration.

Since Zasalamel is confirmed & Tira is leaked, she's the only new character from SCIII that we haven't heard anything about. This does kind of worry me. She was the most fun character to use in SCIV. The alpha pat rendition was horrendous and should never happen again.

If she DOES get confirmed/leaked by V, then i'd have 3/3 of my mains back again and i'd be the happiest I've been in a very long time.

I didn’t think I liked Setsuka as much, but the thought that she might not be in is saddening . I really liked her design in 3 and her weapon and fighting style are unique. Plus she would look soo good with today’s graphics and the design from 3.

I hope that's not the case. I don't want Amy to be Viola, Raphael's style sucks and is nothing like Amy's even if they share one or two moves. I want Amy's style back for create a soul. If they don't want "AMY" herself for some reason, fine, but give her style to someone else then.

I couldn't agree less about that one, but for some reason I'm going to guess that we'll get the worst case scenario, Amy = Viola from now on and Viola is DLC (worst would only be no Amy or Viola xD) I mean, let's be honest, I don't think there would be any kind of rumor if this wasn't the case, which is kinda sad, and I don't think there is anything that could be done there.

About Sertsuka, I kinda feel the same to be honest, If she is in or not that's not the most important thing, what is most important is that her f*cking style get it. I mean seriously, they can't just make good fighting style and then just get rid of them, that's so dumb to me.
They should focus on developing the existing styles rather than reworking the cast in every game.

I think almost everyone is being too conformist about the Setsuka situation, why it makes sense that she's DLC, she's a veteran from the series, she was introduced for the first time in SCIII and she's very solid as a character overall, I think she has earned her place on the base roster honestly.

Her case is not like Mi-na or Rock's case, where they really had to revamp them and use a lot of development time to make new moves and twist the frames a lot for them to have a more unique identity and not being low tier versions of Astaroth and Kilik.

If she's missing we'll not have her moveset wich is pretty solid and will allways be good and interesting no matter what, SC is not like tekken where the characters share a lot of similarities between them, her style should be there from the begining.

Anyway I'm going to waiting for Ultra Super SC VI Deluxe Edition release on steam because I know the Koreans are going to be DLC-pack in this game. People here still try to boycott Raphael and leaving me without any characters to play ...

Cassandra was the first ever character In Soul Calibur I played as so It would be cool to see her finally return after being excluded in 5. R.I.P Mi-na fans though, Hopefully she'll get in as DLC at least.

Same bro, I feel your pain and where the hell is Cervantes ffs!!!!!!

Something tells me that Cassandra or Lizzy are going to be in the slot opposite Sophitia and we’d get one as DLC.

With the limited roster and fears for certain regulars being DLC, we heard nothing about Cervantes, Lizzy, or Yoshimitsu who have all been generally unlocked. Sophitia too, but she was one of the first characters shown so maybe it’ll be Cassandra instead who isn’t in the immediate roster?

Papa Groh seems suspicious to me since we don’t generally get male newcomers only. He could easily be unlockable.

I'll be sad if Namco is prioritizing story when it comes to deciding which characters should be in the game. It's stuff like that which led to characters like Pyrrha Omega and Elysium. They should just go with characters who are the most fun to play as, and then figure out a way to add them to the story (or just not have them in the story mode, that's fine too). Gameplay should always be the priority.

This was talked about a few pages back. If they are behind schedule, I'd personally be fine with a delay. They definitely shouldn't rush it out the door if it means cutting major content to meet the release deadline. That said, it would be nice if the guy in the video had a better source than "I think I heard that..."

It can't be true about the delay of the game! When it was announced in December 2017 Okubo the produser of Soul Calibur VI said that the game is 70% finished, and they were working for it for three years! He also said that they want to release the game as soon as possible in 2018! They can't be serious if the rumours are true and why they tell us these terrible lies?! I trust only official sources! I think that the next month during the E3, we'll learn the release date!

Soul Calibur is not the type of game I would enjoy being delayed. I'm sorry, but with the re-used assets and knowing Namco's practice of caring less about Soul Calibur than Tekken, I would just prefer they release the game in their original deadline, so I can play it.

If the game got delayed, then it would make the marketing more unbearable and even slower. One character a month is bad enough, but if they delayed the game that would probably mean 1 character every two months or something like that. I don't think the game is worth delaying, because I can't imagine the quality would differ that much with the extra time. Would them delaying the game ensure they don't literally copy and paste features from the previous two titles out of laziness? Would them delaying the game make them considering fixing some of the awful design decisions of Seigfried's armor? Would them delaying the game allow them to create more unique CaS items, instead of taking them directly from Soul Calibur V? Would them delaying the game improve the quality of the story-line?

I can't help but feel this way, but no fighting game is worth delaying if the reputation of the developers is a little lop-sided. Just release the damn game on time. I don't want to wait until 2019. Ugh.

I have to admit the re-used assets are really starting to grate on me. For a new generation of console I'd at least expect them to make some improved hair models. I don't understand how they can design all these overcomplicated outfits for characters like Zasalamel and Siegfried and then just copy and paste hairstyles from SCIV.

Coupled with the lousy voice acting and roster fears and still not knowing how the single player experience will be, I'm feeling a lot more negative about the game lately, and concerned about a potential SCV style disappointment (though hopefully it will be at least a little better than that and feel more complete).

As far as delays go I'm on the "I'd rather they delay the game and make it good, than release another crapfest" team. I'd be heartbroken to have to wait even longer, but it'd be worth it if the game didn't suck at the end of it.

EDIT: I WILL add that the actual fighting gameplay and mechanics look like some of the best yet. I'm sure technically it'll be awesome, but I'm not much of a competitive player and I like to have a lot of characters and content and good quality visuals and sound to make the experience feel good.

When they announced the game as "Coming in 2018" with no date or even season, I bet they thought they could avoid complaining about delays but here we are anyways. Even if it comes out on 12/31/2018, it still wouldn't count as being delayed because we never got a specific date.

Relax.
