Could be just because of Story purposes. I just hardly see Lizardman in a roster where very unique characters with unique weapons like Raphael, Yun or Setsu aren't guarantee at this point.

Lizardman is in the game. I imagine he'll inherit Patroklos' moves and maybe use some fire moves while he's at it. You can't cut someone as unique and recognizable as him from the roster when we already know his presence is there.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I would be surprised if both ZWEI and Viola’s styles do not appear in some fashion in the game; they were both fresh and got thus far only one game
Moreover i speculate that we’ll get an eventual port to the Switch with the news of Z Fighter getting to the switch at e3

I’d be pretty disappointed if Aeon/Lizardman isn’t in the base roster since there have been hints toward him being present.

Well... I won't personally declare him to be in the game until we see concrete thing that really confirm him, like a Lizardman character reveal.

Also i don't think Patroklos moves would work well on him, but we'll see.

Eh, I get the sense that none of the new SCV characters are coming back. This is supposed to be a fresh start after all, and besides I don't think they were a good fit. They just felt... off.

What are the thoughts on Groh's dad? I feel like he might be a good guy based on slots. Assuming Cervantes is above Ivy, I would feel of the potential remaining, only Groh's dad could have a potential stake to the slot opposite Cervantes, unless it's Raphael.

That would lead me to believe Aeon below Voldo and Cassandra opposite him.

Then the bottom is weird but I imagine that's why it's the bottom. Tira either somewhere on the right or the bottom middle, that random slot is probably where the bonus character, probably Inferno, goes.

And for the bottom left area it's some mix of Talim, Mi-Na, etc.

I personally feel edge daddy is probably going to be someone with a façade of good intentions, but he is secretly insane or only in it for the power.

I don't see them back unless if they put some lores that Amy will be in the game and she will be reveal to be Viola and Zwei is Groh.

Also Considering Viola was broken (and hard to balance it seems?) and hated, also for Zwei i don't know he doesn't seem to be too popular i think, i personally like him a lot in SCV.

To be realistic i think chances for those 2 to be back aren't too high, unless maybe if the game will be too successful and Namco would like to add a second season pass then those 2 can make it that way maybe, would be awesome imo.

Well they were arguably the best received of the SCV newcomers mostly for the new fighting styles they brought to the game. It’s just that competitively one was underwhelming while the other had ToD BS.

Why are people even suggesting this? Dude, there's no freaking way they're cutting out the freaking Lizardman.

He has neither the popularity nor the story relevance to remain in the game. Aeon never did anything in the games that generic Lizardmen could not.

A picture doesn't mean story relevance. It could easily be a random generic Lizardman, like I said. Nothing Aeon did was more important than the generics, save the fact that he was playable.

I just hope it's not what we've already seen in the story trailer. I mean that wasn't bad, but if they just reuse all those cutscenes I would be underwhelmed.

Again, people will say that story has 0 relevance in a fighting game, but isn't it likely that any absence of concrete in-game Natsu/ZWEI/Viola/Xiba/Aeon/2nd Yoshimitsu/etc backstory contributed to this sense of them being "off"?
