Soul Calibur 6 CaS Discussion

I got you.

The key is to notice the design on the side of the corset.

This last one appears to be wearing the gloves as well.

If those are in fact the same gloves then it also seems true that double layering is possible.

Also, if we do in fact get every single 1P costume available in CAS as individual pieces then we can reasonably assume that all additional DLC CAS parts are the costumes of whatever character is being released with that pack.

I think we'll probably get those parts with the character releases, but the two CaS armor packs seem to be distinct, and they have been said to add over 100 new parts to the mode in total. That's more than you'll find on any individual costume, or even 4 costumes.

How many faces did we get in 5 for males? Cos the LoS screenshots show the character using "Male Face 20" which seems like a lot, but with beards presumably being tied to face choice again it could well be less.

Hmmmm i dont know, if you include hair, faces, makeup, perhaps even patterns and stickers.... Definitely weapons too, that is a big chunk right there possibly. 4 characters with all of that, it could add up quickly.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but SCV had 23 (including bearded versions). So far it can't be said for certain that there will actually be new faces for human characters in SCVI.

Well, it's rarely a bad option to keep your expectations in check, but I sure hope you're wrong :P

I just had the realization that with screenshots showing off pieces of Tira's 2P from SCV being used by CaS, I can just recreate that outfit to use as her alternate costume in this game LOL. I don't mind using legacy costumes as alternates, as long as they're the good legacy costumes. Desperately hoping for Sophitia's SC3 2P as well as Siegfried's SC3 2P. Not sure what I'd want for anyone else, but I just have the strangest feeling they're going to recycle the Bong-seong and Kitty outfits for this game as well (unfortunately for Talim).

I do hope the game gets decent post-launch support through patches. I think it would be great if we could submit reasonable suggestions for how to improve or expand customization. Stuff like facial hair as its own category, asymmetrical equipment, selective outfit destruction, main equipment resizing, etc. That's assuming these aren't in the game already. There's a lot we have yet to see, after all.

3 no. 3 didnt even have character edit, just CAS. But 4 did. All the 2P costumes in 4 were CAS pieces.

5 didnt use all of them though, just some of them. 5 was a little weird in that regard. For some characters both 1P and 2P stuff was available but others not.

I suppose i'm used to the fact that 1P costumes have generally not been available so i'm not taking that fully into consideration.
If they hadn't just dropped support for SoulCalibur V outright, we would have eventually had all 1p/2p costumes. But I still wonder why we didn't get proper Pyrrha Omega shoes... I'm hoping that we get the SoulCalibur V pieces, and the ones we never got, too. SoulCalibur IV pieces like Cassandra's 2p hair being in too, I wouldn't find it unreasonable if we got the SoulCalibur IV pieces, too! I know Okubo said straight up we're not getting the pieces, but the evidence contradicts him. Imagine if, say, we got Amy's parts from SoulCalibur IV, and Raphael's style...

I think the gloves might be attached to the corset actually.

Also, side note, if we're getting all the hairstyles from SC4 and SC5, plus the new ones, then there's gonna be a whooole lotta pigtails lol. The standard pigtails, the low braided pigtails, the "separate flower", Amy's, Talim's(x2), Tira's SC4 1P hair, both of Tira's SC5 hairstyles, Tira's new hairstyle, and Leixia's 1P hair? If you count those pigtails? So anyone who likes pigtailed characters is in luck lmao.

A bit off topic here and i dont know if its ever been discussed but i wonder how Taki's Soul Charge works on CAS or for that matter, on her with any other outfit. Because i gotta think that would be quite a task for the dev team to properly place that tatoo on everything.

Also to add to this, Kilik's, Groh's, or basically anyone who gets a physical transformation... do they just not work? That would be my guess.

Could just be a specific glove item, or a special item relocated to the hand area, but I just noticed that this oni guy is wearing fairly different equipment on each arm:

correct me if i'm wrong, I never seen those feet armor and gloves before, are they new items?

Your character probably just gets a flashy aura or something.

I can only assume so. I double checked the cast, but no matches, and I don't remember them from previous games.

I'm going to be disappointed if we don't at least get an aura, because that ruins the idea I have to make a Zidane from Final Fantasy IX custom using Grøh, since not only is it a twinblade that splits into two blades, the aura for his Soul Charge being pink is perfect for Zidane's Trance.

Well unless he's gonna grow ugly-ass fur patches everywhere, it still wont be accurate anyway.

FF9... uhgh.

Only thing that looked remotely decent in that game was Beatrix and she was the most unlikable character i've seen in well... ever.

If the magic dude’s style blows up your character’s top, that’ll be annoying.

But Trance Zidane was nude too...

Hoping for a nice variety of dresses. And if there’s any sets I really want, it’d be either Raph’s for the jacket or Setsuka’s alt below the waist.

If Velvet Jacket returns we can possibly recreate Ivy’s SC1 alt.

So I have finally been pointed to the tweet Kayane posted about there being 100 CAS slots and that you would be able to share CAS. In the process though I stumbled across this;

|I precise that even if you don’t have their piece of armors or accessories in your game, you’ll be able to have them and play them. But you won’t be able to modify them."

It seems that their solution to people sharing characters with DLC items is to just allow them to use the copy of the character but not modify the character. The take away from this is that if you share a CAS you likely will not be able to modify it at all without owning all of the pieces. Hence creating your own characters is probably preferable as you can alter them as you like...but even if you don't you can hopefully see how the character was created and create it yourself.
