Soulcalibur VI DLC Discussion Thread

It is horrible that we have only 7 weapons, should be at least 8 and 9 for the characters that received a SE/SC variation.

Cassie and Patroklos share Spine Blade & Ivan the Terrible and Katzbalger (currently with Sophitia) in Lost Swords, so I'd say I'm 90% sure that this weapon returns. I would sacrifice Dark Blade or Metesashi, because the shields have the same design.

Or, as an alternate take, if they do go with Metesashi, they could use this as a companion shield.

SC4 is 11 years old and I had no idea every character has two Critical Finishes.

You only get the second one if you fight against Yoda (presumably because he's too short to work with the main CF animatons). Maybe Cassie's CE in SC6 will be based on her second CF which features a total of zero butt attacks.

Edit: Quick sidenote, holy bananas the SC4 netcode is bad. Even a 5-bar connection has annoyingly high input lag.

About the Evo, do you think they will reveal something Friday after the Sc’s top 8 ? Or Sunday with Tekken ?

Such a slacker! That or you primarily played on PS3, maybe, and didn't buy Yoda. Most all of them are just their unblockable "super" move, though, because yeah, Yoda doesn't work well with animations for everything else. Yoda breaks everything, can't be thrown, can't be critical finished, it's a wonder he made it into the game.

I'm not sure, but I do remember they had a small SC6 tournament last year at EVO and they still decided to save the SC6 announcements for the Tekken tournament on Sunday. If I were to guess, I would say they'll go with Friday. It just makes much more sense to show SC6 news alongside SC6. Either way, SC6 finals are happening first, so just watch that, and then also watch Tekken if there's no news (remember to tune in before the Tekken 7 finals start as that's when they announced SC6 news last year).

I actually mostly played on Xbox. But CFs were so rare to see in actual fights, and I also rarely saw people choose Yoda, so I'm not too surprised I never stumbled upon this. Everything about Yoda is baffling in SC4. He's annoying to fight, and he must have been annoying for the dev team as they "solved" issues by making all throws not work on him and making CF variants for every character.

Project Soul using the opportunity to capitalize with one of the most iconic characters of modern times. Balance wasn't the focus with him.
I will forever find it strange, though. It was a cross-promotion with the Star Wars game of the time, The Force Unleashed, and Yoda is not in The Force Unleashed. There was a perfectly serviceable green lightsaber user who was, however, and he would have been an interesting and unique style, not unlike The Apprentice. I realize that Yoda is the more recognizable character, but they still could have gone with Luke Skywalker instead of Yoda, if they were going for recognizable, because Luke wasn't in The Force Unleashed either, but wouldn't have broken the game. Luke also actually fought Vader, while Yoda never did... Yoda just doesn't fit on any level.

I though they make those SW choices based on colors, putting Vador in PS3 (both black) and Yodo on Xbox (green). Of course later they'll become DLC on both plateforms.

They did definitely do that, and red is also associated with PS3, though they shifted to blue with PS4 and Vita. That’s why either Kota or Luke would have been viable substitutes for Yoda, both having green lightsabers.

I don’t think I want anyone stealing Vader’s moves. It would be better to bring back stuff from SoulCalibur III like Lance, Dagger, and Wave Sword.

So many characters here T_T

It's a March 2015 game sis, SC6 is October 2018, almost 4 years difference LOL

But of course now for SC6 it's all a matter of "If Season 2 Will BE"

And BTW so GLAD Craig IS BACK!!!

I don't remember an official statement about that but yeah that was quite obvious.

Well, despite all of Yoda’s annoyances he was regarded very poorly by the community for his long list of faults to the point of being considered the worst character in the game (yes, even worse than Mina and Rock).

Hopefully there will be a announcement this weekend on a new character. I recall the Season Pass was going to conclude at the end of the Summer. But I have been thinking; Could Cassandra end up have shield projectiles to distinguish her from Sophitia? I remember she had that throw on SC4 when she would flip off you and then lunge the shield into your head. Could that be her thing? Would it make you cringe that she could become a Captain America?

It could be worse, she could get Kuma's fart attack.

My excitement has subsided and now I’m not looking forward to the incompatible equipment parts I’m going to experience tomorrow lmao
