Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

You mean the UK. Here we had stuff like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles chanced to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and Bruce Lee nunchaku scenes removed.

Very excited for Setsuka. Really curious to see what they do with Hwang. I like him more than Yun-Seong, so this a win for me.

Despite starting with Soul Blade, I'm not as attached to Rock and Li Long as others here are, so honestly im pretty much set on the vets after this season. Everyone else that comes is a bonus. My most wanted returning character at this point is now probably Algol, mostly for a friend. Though I had a thought of him getting a new moveset with a single sword and using his free hand to punch and grab people, if that happened I'd be pretty hype for him.

So for now I'll just anticipate a nice closing for season 2 while waiting for season 3 to possibly give me my hand to hand fighter (gauntlets or claws or otherwise).

Sad another tournament is cancelled because of COVID-19. Final Round & Combo Breaker off the SCVI World Tour. I hope EVO 2020 isn't next because I would love to hear another great Okubo announcement for Hwang & Setsuka. I'm so glad Hilde isn't OP anymore. That was my only issue with her in SCIV & SCV 1,02. Project Soul has really done a great job of balancing SCVI S2 much better than Tekken Project's balancing of T7 S3. Leroy killing that game at EVO Japan 2020 only to be nerfed 2 months after release is just sad balancing.

U.K. keeps on banning strange things. I predict that in ten years from now they will be forced to cut their bread with old, stiff socks cause all the knives will get banned
Those aren't really equivalent things, homie. The nunchuks in the 90's were almost completely a moral panic, whereas present-day knife crime in the UK is a very real thing that disproportionately affects children. And no, obviously no country can ban knives, but even to the extent that some have proposed controls on where certain types of blades are sold, that at least comes from a place of realistic concern about an actual threat to life, unlike the nunchuk thing, which is up there with violent video games in terms of things both the UK and US authorities were wringing their hands over in the 90s for reasons that were obviously rooted more in grandstanding nonsense than actual threats. Very different situations.

How happy are you that setsuka is next?

To be honest I just wanted to share my vision of cutting a bread with socks. I do realize that it's quite a different case.
That nunchaku thing kinda reminds me of when some organisations in the US tried to fight against D&D.

Hahah, gotcha! And yeah, D&D, that was a doozie: do you remember this little gem? I mean, to be fair, if one has a friend really into dungeons and dragons, you really do have a moral obligation to try to help them find more worthwhile uses for their time, but for entirely different reasons than their health or sanity being at stake. ;D

You can spam A+B during 14 hit combo soul attack and get all the hits. You can mash 2A+B to ring out
I guess they really want a guest who will actually show up at tournaments in a big way. Well, once people are having tournaments again, anyway.. Anyway, Haohmaru...I can't be the only one thinking this is the first SouCalibur to ever get Mitsurugi properly calibrated and out of high/mid-high tier, and now there's this flaily fff...! ...fellow. Fellow.

Edit: Not that I think the story is all bad with this character. But there definitely is a sense that this is a character that not only has Mitsurugi's powerfulc combination of speed and damage with decent range, but he also seems to be able to make so many opportunities for himself. From the minimal amount of inkering around with him I've done thus far, about the only thing that's not a slightly improved version of Mitsu is the low game, maybe? But it hardly matters when the overall package is what it is. I mean, I'm sure he's unsafe AF, but I think for players who are not that reactive to begin with, he could become very attractive, possibly with obnoxious consequences in ranked.

At this point I don’t particularly care about who gets in (unless they aren’t some form of legacy/lore character) so long as I’ll be able to play as Yun-Seong before SCVII.

Unfortunately, I appear to be in the minority of people here who want him back, excluding DanteSC3, LisaK, and Dissidia’s nihilistic side.

Oh no, Mitsurugi is honestly still a really solid character. He has some really good and safe pokes in neutral such as his AA, BB, 2B, 4B. Not to mention his 50/50 game (abeit punishable if the opponent reads him right) and quite a few are unseeable such as his 1KB and 1B series of strings Plus his meter game is very versatile especially in a corner/wall/stage edge for his Soul Charge that already aids his mixup game and whiff punishment even further. His CE is also still really fantastic even if it doesn’t punish moves on -12 anymore (now it’s-14 and above) and is one of the ways to access his Shura Blade which gives him his new i12 punisher. He’s got a lot going for him and is great for improving your fundamentals with.

This character was heavily slept on during the launch period of the game and he’s even gained plenty of success thanks to players like Skyll who’s played him at his peak.
