Soul Calibur 6 CaS Discussion

The major visual distinction with soul charging is glowing weapons.

Sure some characters change appearances (Kilik, Groh, Taki, for example) but the bigger change is the persistent glow on/around the weapons of the characters.

I can't see them removing color editing of standard costumes when that is literally the only change we're getting (at release) between 1P and 2P.

I do suspect that the alternate costumes will be dlc. I think they are going to put forth the last effort of success in dlc revenue. It's not a sin for me, I have been spending my hard earned money for CaS equipment forever.

I don't really think so, Okubo indirectly shut that down in his interview with Kayane, telling us to make our own 2ps, unless he was being coy.

I think that wasn't shutting down the possibility of alt outfit DLC but rather just a nod that 'hey you can make your own costume if you like' but it's likely that alt outfit DLC isn't something they're planning and would only happen if the game sells well.

Even if the supposedly 2P costumes were DLC, they would be nothing more than CaS parts. I find hard to believe that they added the 1Ps to CaS by default but wouldn't possible 2P DLCs.

By that logic, the current 1ps are nothing more than CaS parts, since they're seemingly all available to be used for both genders.

They know they'd make money off of it, and it would double as CAS DLC. Win-win for them.

But the 1Ps are available for CAS...

Ramus wasn't saying they weren't.

He was saying that, if they were to add 2P costumes, they'd basically just be adding additional CaS parts, because it would be illogical to add 2Ps and not make them CaS-friendly, when the 1P costumes already were.

Hey, guys, hey, this is crazy but, hey, listen, say if, just listen but, what if..... *ghaaaaasp*thedlccaspartsareactuallypartsfor2Pcostumes?

It might also be worth noting that customization in general, both costumes and recolors will effectively disable a lot of the special transformations that come from Soul Charges. I suspect this game has completely done away with the "color editing" feature. On the surface it would appear to not matter since it looks as if all the standard outfits is available to remove or change however you want but i imagine editing a character in any way disables Soul Charge effects. So basically we only get access to the one standard and secondary color for a true, "unaltered" character.
I hope not. Even from the standard costume to recoloring it, the quality of the render drops a LOT. Then to go to the CaS pieces, I'm sure it'd be even worse.
Besides, considering they gave us a recolor for the "alternate costume", I highly doubt recoloring the costume is gone.

If i take Lizardman, Geralt, Inferno and Azwel out of the equation, (assuming they dont have alternate outfits) the remaining 20 characters on the roster would evenly divide for 5 pieces each at the 100 extra CAS parts.

That is of course leaving out the other DLC characters.

There is a pretty good chance that receiving all the CaS parts for each character won't be unlocked right away and will require story, libra, mode 3 (arcade likely), or online to unlock. The 370 pieces of CaS parts may only be at initial release and not include anything locked behind playing the game.

We also do not know what they are including in CaS parts. Are they including hair, stickers, tattoos, special effects, accessories, faces, etc... How adaptable are the race options are we able to have multiple options for them. For example for the beast option are their options for bunny ears, cat ears, rhino head, cat claws, cat tail, bunny tail (?), etc... It's quite possible that there could be even more options in each of the race choices for CaS than what we initially see. It would make sense as well as just putting bunny or cat ears behind a single race is extremely limiting. Perhaps we can adapt multiple other aspects.

I'm quite curious to know how many are unlocked at launch (if it ads up to 370) then we at least know it doesn't count anything unlockable. I like the idea of unlocking character equipment/parts by playing through their story mode. Would encourage people to continue playing it.

The biggest disappointment will be if you can't unlock anything from playing the game or that 370 is counting all previous DLC and they give us nothing new (although I fully expect current character equipment will be new but hopefully not the only new items to be added)

I think 370 is composed of all items, that said this is about 30 more items than in SCV, I wonder if they are counting the 1P pieces, because they alone would bloat more than 30 more pieces or maybe not.

I kinda wish the information wasn't as vague as it is, because I expect at least all V's items to come back + some new ones.

From the DLC packs in V, the ones that added the most pieces were the character ones, I think with them there was about 100 DLC pieces, I just hope nothing that was base on SCV will be back as DLC.

Bad news for you then...I will be annoyed if we don't get these.

Shop Exclusive DLC/Pre-Order DLC

Steam does not get the pre-order bonus either according to the Japanese website...might change outside of Japan though.
I mean, those two were not base, so I'm okay with that. We've seem the Valkyrie Set and pieces of the Knight set, I'm okay with them trimming some of the fat, because there were pieces in V that were really useless.

Recoloring drops the quality? I honestly was never aware of that. Of course i knew changing an outfit with CAS parts altered the character model. I assume you're talking about the previous 3 games but then we still dont know how bad this game will be in that regard. I mean i hope i'm wrong and the color editing feature is still in play and that it doesnt affect anything.

The only useless pieces were the pacman and friends...the rest at least had the capability of use if you tried hard enough.
