Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I mean, that's not strictly true...

There are games where all the characters have bullshit infinites, but it doesn't mean they're balanced.

I personally think the balance in SCVI feels pretty good right now. And of course what I mean by that is PLEASE BUFF TAKI.
The buffs from the current update haven’t really done too much for her sadly.

More like tears. PS is just gonna see that and nerf Sophie again for the THIRD time (and without forgetting to buff Groh for the third time again too) because they're gonna pay attention to the damage, and not the fact that Themidor had to tech two times, which were both big mistakes.

Eh, would you really call those big mistakes? They weren't coin flips exactly, but I feel like most people would stand a decent chance of doing exactly what Thermidor did there, without it necessarily being a couple of bad calls so much as a couple of bad guesses. And in any event, that's an awful lot of punishment even for three running mistakes. I'm not on the nerf Sophie bandwagon by any means, and clearly not just anyone is gonna be able to pull that off, but that's still a little brutal. But in any event, dear lord do I feel you on the Groh portion of that commentary; if the patch notes for v1.12 for Groh read simply "now auto-GIs 80% of attacks from neutral" it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

Sidenote, love that signature; I wonder if there's a way to use cheat engine to replace Amy's voice (once she's added to VI) with her SCIII "dialogue"; too bad it would only work locally in any event; nothing else on planet Earth would entertain me more than knowing that every arbitrarily misanthropic, hardcore Amy hater I might incidentally run into and dispatch was just hearing her name over and over again. "Amy. Amy. Amy-Amy....Amy."

Actually the 4th time because your forgetting the E3 Build: TAS B(LH) doesn't get a 66B anymore. The EVO Japan Build 2018 had TAS B (LH) combo into 66B.

I don't think getting hit with 2 Tech Traps is a justifiable nerf. It's just as dumb making changes because of ONLINE & listening to the Talim Fanbase.

Considering the amount of damage other characters can get off of a normal combo at the wall, I think this is fair for Sophitia to get off of a combo involving two tech traps. Is it a lot? Yeah it is. But take a look at the damage that characters like Ivy do at the wall lol They already nerfed part of the combo in the first patch, and he only died because he got hit by the unblockable (he should've rolled forward). Sophitia doesn't deserve any more nerfs until they balance Groh, Yoshi, Mina, Geralt, Ivy, etc. The problem is when they balance other characters, they give and take. Ex. They nerfed Ivy's CE and low throw hit box, buff everything else. Actually, scratch that patch change, let's make her CE better in this one by making it do more damage and safer. For Sophitia, they just fucking nerf the fuck out of everything and dip lol

Thanks, I'm excited to stab some toes again.

If everyone is broken and overpowered, then no one is.
What I mean is, everyone is capable of too much damage, ease of ring outs, and easy high damage traps. Sure it's fair, but it's not exactly a wise game design desicion.

In fact, I'm taking a break from sc6 because of this. Rounds are too short. I would like to see a nerf on damage and ring outs across the board

I completely disagree with this, I think the damage is near enough perfect with some tweaking to some characters (example of this is Groh going super saiyan, his damage output is excessive for the little effort you're required to do), plus when you go full fundamentals you'd be surprised how many times you can run out of time. Reducing damage would make the rounds tiresome.

God I wish they hadn't botched the soundtrack for this game. It's just so lackluster. This franchise has some great, epic tunes in the trunk so it boggles me why they seemingly didn't even try to match stuff like this:

Haha, after 19 years of hearing that music in a very specific context, my brain rebelled so hard against not hearing "Battle 1--FIGHT!" that I ended up with a nose bleed.

Are we playing the same game? The soundtrack is great!
It's subjective, for sure, but I just can't get the same epic vibes as from certain previous tracks. SC soundtracks had more charisma back in the day imo, more finesse, spunk and character. Just listen to Raphaels theme from V below. SCVI sounds good qualitywise but feels almost generic and repetitive in comparison.

Bloom and Harvest (SC VI remix ver.) deserved better.
Xianglian deserved better.
