Attacks you may not be using enough

I see.....

My thinking on 33b is very simple: Mid range only(long range....?) low that can surprise opponents if used cautiously. I like that thinking and I'll try to incorporate it more then I do now.....

Surprised wsA beat it, but yeah it DOES telegraph so it's not that fast.

33B gets thumbs up from me

huge range low, hard to see without practice, ok damage, and + frames on CH

Now now, it's even on CH... and like -4 on NH :) .. but i'd be happy if more people froze up If i hit them with 33b.

The range it hits at makes up for it I guess, since you could always threaten with a 44B.

I recommend this for the mobile raph, since the regular stepping motion makes this more deceptive, a 33B from a raph that just attacks forward is easier to spot than one from raph that wiggles around on the battlefield.

I'm thinking of a new Raphael Strategy.

Nothing but pokes until damage is in my favor, when the opponents down to 40% health or left, that's when I go brawler Raphael, 236B openings, fast attacks, 44B CH's, and Prep game.

33KB is actually quite nice against whiffs, even if you can't get the JF... just means no RO if they're standing next to the edge. That said, if they whiff, you can often get 4 on them, and that's usually just better. I like 1A... I find it one of his handier low pokes that has some sideways coverage.

I use 1A and 33KB all the time, I don't know many Raphael's that DO NOT. They're missing out on a great evasive counter and a solid low.

i actually started doing this right after our last fight and it seems to work nicely especially when your burst of offense surprises your opponent.

I throw some lows in there.

3B 2K 6B and 6K all day.

occasionally 4K and 6B+K.

i can see you playing voldo as well is influencing your raph game nice idea BTW.

raph doesn't have the CF/poke game voldo has so wach out.

I still love 44AB and it has almost completely replaced 66A+B in my game.

the only thing 66A+B has over 44AB is it hits rollers.

44AB prep is neutral on block.

and 44AB forces crouch so they cant step you.

SEA K is good at spacing BTW so im going to use that more.

and wuht im sorry for my performance on our last fight i choked big time.

interested to see you and bchild go at it. I rarely see you guys on at the same time.. it's like 2 hours after you log off beloved logs on.

but I honestly think that in a mirror match you learn more about countering the opponent's raph more than improving your own game directly. Gotta go take on a different character as raph to abuse his unique combination of speed/range.

ok ill be tira next time or Hilde if u want a challenge

its just i get scared against raph mains i keep thinking they will counter me so i dont take risks

I do this as well, I'm starting to like 6A Taki/Maxi range as well.

occasionally 4K and 6B+K.

6B+K as a spacing tool, I only use the standing high kicks like k/4k when I don't want to forward momentum punisher of 6BB/6A

Voldo doesn't poke, he goes into constant strings and stance shenanigans. He's just got some vicious lows AND a throw game that makes him hard to deal with.

I don't understand this at all, 66A+B moves you forward and gets Raphael's ONLY JUGGLE potential on hit, his sidestep A+B variants are situationally useful too, 44AB, whiled good in it's own right, ISN'T a replacement, 44A is a retreating swing and is short ranged, unlike the advancing 66A+B.

44AB prep is neutral on block.

Is this true? Prep A still trades with an i13 here.

and 44AB forces crouch so they cant step you. True

SEA K is good at spacing BTW so im going to use that more.

It is, but SEA K isn't a great move, don't freakin drop SEA B for it.....

never said ill drop SEA B

and yes 44AB prep is neutral on block

but 66A+B for me was nothing but a pressure tool

because any nimrod can block 66A+B on reaction

What's your point? 66A+B is one of Raphael's best moves on block. Spaces, safe at range, decent CF damage, and I think it's -4 on block? Which mean's you have options besides block/gi against many opponents.

Dropping 66A+B for 44AB is retarded, because whiled both are good moves, they serve different important functions for Raphael.
