Nightmare Web Theater.

Engared : Keev doesn't understand English (and therefore doesn't read 8WR forum)
I'll pass over the message for you, he's coming to play at my house on Friday.

I believe that the Yoshi-Nightmare matchup is very hard though. Yoshi is extremely fast and damaging, has strong pokes, is pretty safe (if you play him safe), and can interrupt extremely well.

I heard that the NM-yoshi matchup is in NM's favor though. However im not sure about this. It was just that he was being hit by the same stuff very often throughout that video series so thats why i assumed that he wasnt familiar with the matchup.

I don't understand what advantage Nightmare could have over Yoshimitsu. I guess a bit of range if he backdashes with B+K, but then again Yoshi can punish all of this big time, and then do all his own damage with powerful mids, throws, and FC3K step killer low.

DTN mixes up his timings, mid/low and stuff so even if it looks like "the same thing", it's actually very strong mind game.
Remember DTN is the guy who won EVO2003 using Nightmare and nearly just 3B. Now he uses 33B in the same way ... Except 33B is safe against most of the cast (very light punishment possible at most for fast AA).

Videos from the BAM event last month. Lots and lots of Nightmare. I came 2nd overall which i am very pleased about. Am still working on my step game, have to change it up and not use step, grab too much. Any C&C would be great. Thanks.

Damn Keev has a rock solid defense and some beastly mind games. You can always see it in his matches how he is all in his opponents head.

Props!

Recently while facing Grannis's NM with my Ivy, we noticed something interesting. It's not that big of a deal though, but it's still something that might come in handy from time to time for a NM player.

There is a move of Nightmare (sorry, cannot remember the input so i'll try to describe it :P) that consists of 2 hits (2-hit move), the first hit is horizontal (and high I think) and the second is vertical and mid. Also the second hit can be easily GIed If the first hit is blocked and from what I remember it's pretty unsafe. Most of you must have already figured out what NM's move I'm talking about.

Ok, now to the interesting part.
Ivy has a move in WP state where she extends her whip forward and then pulls it either up or down across the screen (WP 6B+K2_8). Sometimes an Ivy player may abuse the range AND pushback of this move making it hard for opponent to close the gap. Of course NM has some ways around this but also using this move (that I described above), he can completely evade both hits of this Ivy's move. However since we tested it a bit later, it seems that his evasive properties apply only If Ivy pulls her weapon at a certain direction: 2 or 8 not both (sorry, can't exactly remember right now which direction). Also it doesn't work very close to Ivy (however Ivy almost never uses this very close to opponent).

As I mentioned it's not anything special but just throwing it here :)

Against WP 6B+K2_8, the best is still to step the first hit (to evade the pushback), guard the second and punish with 33B.
But yea, 88AB is a great move with an incredible step to the left and huge damage + tech trap on CH

I found some videos on SetsunaRvZ's channel of the french Soulcalibur players and there was some Keev and Greven videos uploaded in the past two days.

Obi (Setsuka) vs Greven (Nightmare)

Keev (Nightmare) vs Gohan (Raphael)

Keev (Nightmare) vs Obi (Setsuka)

Keev (Nightmare) vs Malek (Ivy)

Thanks for posting the videos Furzy, alot of good gameplay from both sides and I liked how you used Yoshi's A+K move that's dependent on the timer, stylish! =)

Can anyone explain the throw break that Furzy does that causes him damage at 3:37?

Edit: correct time from video now

Oops, I got the time wrong, I was actually referring to what happens at 3:37. I see Keev land a throw, and Yoshi breaks it getting damaged in the process.
