Raphael General Discussion

safeness is measured against' sophie's 236B :)

I'm really having trouble against a IVY spamming 214. If i'm blocking no problem, but it seems like a fail safe move anytime she is at a frame disadvantage and expects me to counter attack, which throws off my tempo. I've hit her occasionally with 4A, but the risk-reward ratio for that is too high.

Any one knw how to use the teleport?
AIN666 says its good but i cant find any use for it, its recovery frames are to slow usually to slow to capitalize on.
IMO this move is not very good but im probably not using it right.
i use it when some one goes for a move and misses then even though im behind them they still interrupt my BB

I tried using teleport against Hilde in an attempt to get the player to lose their charge in confusion if they wanted to instinctively attack with BT A_B. If it works at all, it would probably be usuable only once or twice. It's easily remedied by a simple directional/G input or BT K even. Beyond baiting whiffs and dodging unblockables I haven't seen much of a use for it.

I find myself always entering Prep from 44AB when I use the move on wakeup and in the 66A+B, BT K combo. If it's siderolled on wake up or escaped by air control in the combo then I enter VE and hope to avoid a punisher with an auto evade or even a death stun, or just Prep B to space back.

Hey Raph players, in the Newbie Silencer there's a person asking a question about Ralph's stances. I don't know the answer, but could one of you guys get to it? Thanks.

how about 44aB? you know the spin thing to prep. any use for that? it comes out slow, not very strong, and low range. is this move even usable?

is there any good time to use raphael teleport ?

I don't think so. If you have good enough reaction time to teleport behind someone doing a big slow move, then you have good enough reaction time to do one of his other, better moves.

I think its only use is to get behind Algol when he's bubble happy. I haven't tested it, though.

It can catch Algol but surprise if he's not used to the matchup. Once Algol is keeping his eye out for it it's effectiveness takes a drastic drop though. Algol's BT B+K can put the pain on Raph if teleport is baited. It's not useless as it keeps him something else to look out for, but in the long run it's not gonna be a key factor in the matchup. Raph can do decently in the matchup because his prep pressure is awesome against algol (can't step prep A). I recently got CFed by raph in round 1 of a match because of this (I do not think this has ever happened to me before that, with any character)

Lol, I only recently learned just how horrible Algol's step is after a match with Crow Winters. Not being able to escape Prep through step is hilarious, and a welcome change of pace.

does anybody know here how to beat Yun-seong with raphael he's the only character i have problems with thanks to that dumb stance the counters b moves

Uhhh..... use horizontals and kicks? Seriously, if he consistently counters your verticals with it, it's because you're being too predictable with them (Other characters could often step you in the same situation).

I like this move a lot actually. It's not the fastest move in the world but the first hit tracks fairly well and more importantly it is Raph's only PEM (Prep Entering Move) that leaves the opponent in a full crouch. This is important because it means against characters with fast AAs who can hit you out of prep A they are forced to eat it or block(since you cant AA out of a FC). Thus making your prep mixups against those characters much stronger. Keep in mind this doesn't work on Amy as she can 6BB out of crouch (stupid ho)

Yo Millionz you gotta keep some of these secrets hidden. Can't be giving Amy's anti raph strat. But you right though.

everyone has turtled up when i hit them with 44AB(on block), which on the brightside means it's basically a free soul guage damaging move if you just want to randomly throw it out.
