SCV Character Creation Discussion

Main weapon was actually the claw. The orb was mainly for traps.

At least that's how she was. Then in the French interviews yesterday they said they were considering making the orb her main weapon instead. So it's very possible they removed the claw while they're revamping her.
On her profile they say her orb, "Quattuor Orbis" is the main weapon, so I'm just copying what I read ^^

Hmm... I'm hoping there'll be more faces or different faces to the ones in IV, seems they look the same really. Or at least put in sliders so we can make the face how we want, like Skate series or The Sims.

Also I really hope there is more hairstyles and clothing cause most of them seem to be from IV but I'm aware that there's all the colouring and adding stuff to make it different. I'm still hyped, I just hope there's more control over facial features.
I did see some new aditions to the articles of clothing, but I also hope there are alot more aswell. Something tells me we have yet to see even the tip of this ice berg. I like the thought on sliders. That would be real nice 8D.

OH MY GOD, THIS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!~~ :D
I'm glad you can change body proportions now, back in SCIV, you could have a large torso, only to have little arms, *shudder*. Anyways, I'm also glad that you can layer clothing in this one. I like a lot of these new parameters and I can't wait to get this game.

I absolutely love how they paid attention to little details, like the color of weapon effects, the whites of the eyes, the shape of the eyebrows, the color and pattern on a sheath, the position of certain accessories...I'm pouring a waterfall of happiness out of my eyes right now. It's a dream come true.

WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW NAMCO THANK YOU SO MUCH

Fuckin A man. If they let you change facial structure then this is complete.

Hair, and face-Not much to critique on yet, because it's only a spoiler based on the first page. The face has more options, thankfully, but it looks like the facial hair is mandatory for some of them rather than the facial hair being customizable itself, or is it a few faces but facial hair is added in the options next to the clean ones?

Editing the eyebrows is a welcoming addition, though I'm curious if editing the color will be a factor. It probably will.

The face paint is something new. I probably wouldn't use it as much, but it's something to make your creativity fly.

Body Customization-Actually, it looks better than SCIV. Adjustable, yet simple. Editing the pectorals is going to be interesting. lmao

Voice-More voices, of course, but I can't seem to understand the difference between pitch and tone. I guess I'll have to play it to judge.

Clothing-I noticed that body hair was an option. lol. With some areas separated this time, you can have much more layering. Likely DLC will be included as well.

Parts-A new addition, and with the players being able to adjust where they are positioned, it's a welcoming one.

Colors and Patterns-Coloring the clothing, eyes, as well as the weapons and the fighting auras, is a great inclusion. It was something I was hoping for, but I'm pretty sure that there will only be default character weapons. Nonetheless, the pattern editor and emblem editor is amazing. If there is anything that makes me anxious to own the game, it's this.

Overall-Honestly, better than SCIV and, with the exceptions of the weapon and moveset options (even though we will have new weapons from new characters), it's better than SCIII's as well. Since I'm literally a "customization" fanatic, I cannot wait to own this game for it.

Facepaint, that's really cool.
I'm so gonna make Kefka from Final Fantasy 6 when the game comes out. :D
Or the Joker from Batman. ;)

It seems like it will soon be the era of Frankenstein's Monsters in Soul Calibur V.

I sincerely hope that they have an option to toggle CAS or No CAS in the main product and have a standard and special arena again. As long as they have this ability I think this character creation stuff is quite above my expectations.

I'm expecting we will get all returning equipment from IV and III as well as about 30-50 new additions as well. The sheer amount of equipment looks huge and interesting. I like the fact they also have some modern clothing in there as well even if it does not completely fit with time period.

The amount of hair and face options looks to be about double that of the previous game if the little bar to the right of the options is to be estimated correctly. The voice options are only 8 choices and sounded kinda weird for some of them but I'm not sure if that was the video or if they are still getting some of them. Looks like a bit more variety as far as they are concerned...I just wish they would throw in an option of choosing what the characters would say out of a list. Because dear god if I have to hear Effort does not equal victory dumbass I will be annoyed. If not in this one then hopefully in the next game they can try to do something with voice options.

We didn't get to see too much of the female equipment and options so hopefully we will get news on that and other CAS details in the near future. Looks good so far though. I have to say though that the sheer amount of available items looks to be huge. I can only imagine how long it will take to unlock everything. This game will definitely be worth the money for me I think.

"Tagmeister"-A new addition, and with the players being able to adjust where they are positioned, it's a welcoming one.

lol, I believe "Tagmeister" is a nickname for Tago-san.

The presentation Tago had given us was silly and creative. +1

The mode itself? Please make all features and clothing avilaible for both sexes...like in Broken destiny, women can wear men's clothing in real life too you know.

The only problem I have really is that they reused the ugly faces and hair from SC4... Atleast bring back SC3's content too.... They also said everything can be edited individually but the faces are still masks... and hair doesnt look like it can be lengthened... the faces are the most needed things to toggle..and beards are attached to the faces still.... I mean, the face count looks a lot more then 7 but its still not diverse enough.

I noticed sophita's SC4 hair is in the game, so Id hope for others from the older games and the clothing.

This is so close to being the best CAC in any fighter but just a few things missing.
- Facial feature toggling / Hair lengthening or shortening /Clothing length adjustment.
- Facial age toggling would help if they cant add seperate ages.
- Face plate emotion selection (Still the issue.... I need to look pissed off if im evil)
- Beards should be optional / Not connected
- SC3 voices, like in Broken Destiny / More diversity... 8 voices is too limited.
- More younger faces (and please dont recycle the hidious SC4 faces.... SC3's were better...)
- Newer hairstyles... (Stop recycling from SC4... new hair styles please...)

- No CAS for online unless in a seperate option.
- No Special Vs for online... real players use standard.

The mode itself? It's, a lot like WWE's Horray for tattooing! (I just hope they dont limit body tattoos or scars to just men..) If you guys really want the best CAS, send this to Daishi or whoever....
or send it yourself. just a suggestion.

also there was a lot we did not see. I believe there are a lot more faces than those we see there...if anything I think Tago purposely only showed us stuff we've seen before...to keep the hype and interest up. keep us guessing to keep us interested. this was just a brief teaser after all.

Bingo,on faces and hairs menu you can see the cursor on up-right showing that these are just few of many more
The whole video seem pretty accurate to not spoiler new things

Yea I was about to point out the scroll bar on the side, but oh well.
I like the background they used for it. It is just white lighting that isn't too bright. Unlike in SC4 where you are forced to make your characters on a stage, and most of them are either really dark, isn't white light, or completely bloomed over, making it a bit painful to look at for too long. A simple cloudy background, and a white floor with some nice patterns on it. Nothing is overpowering or distracting.

As I already posted elsewhere, while this video is a great preview of the highly versatile functionality of the new CAS system, I really think people should refrain from making premature judgments on the content we’ve seen so far. It is likely 1) highly edited to prevent spoilers, 2) very incomplete as they are still modeling new items to populate the lists, and 3) porting a lot of SCIV stuff possibly just for demonstration’s sake. Who knows what faces / hairstyles / equipment / presets / weapons / whatever we’ll actually get in the final version.

Heck, I don’t necessarily even imagine that that specific desolate void of a landscape will necessarily end up being the real default environment, although I do appreciate that they are trying to give you a lighting-neutral, non-distracting stage in which to design. I hope you can still preview your characters on actual stages (not just use predefined background images for the “picture” (i.e. icon).
