SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

Hey, maybe we should add in a character that can summon meteors and can do 100 damage tech traps with them. Then a gimmicky telekinesis character that wins by doing force push and his CE just flips the opponents controls so he can have a feel for controlling minds. Can't forgot a nercomancer. He fights with a bladed wand and all of his brave edges summon undead minions that get in the opponent's way and soak up to 45 damage while allowing up to 4 on the screen at once so he can just sit back without fighting himself. But wait, there's more! How about a that can control water so on every stage that has water ringouts they can do an unblockable i30 CE that traps the opponents in a ball of water then crushes them for 240 damage. Man that sounds awesome!

But that stuff would break the game and likely have massive hitbox issues along with whiffs, because damage would he scattered all over the stage. Game balance is important, you know. I know what you're thinking: "The game is is fantasy, so they might as well take it all the way!!!" Then again, the game features stripping, but its not to the point we see bare titties and dicks. That would bring us past the "T" and "M" ratings.

How does Armor Break=Fantasy?

We are discussing ideas. I suggested quite a few character/style ideas. Bangoo and Riki being two of them.

these.....

....are all excellent ideas too.

Other weapons I noted in a post somewhere:

  • Dual Sliding Sword, or a Dual Ended Sword (I think a Dual Sliding Sword could be pretty inventive, especially for Leixia)
  • Wave Swords (Revenant's weapon on SC3)
  • Melon Hammer (or Melon Hammers)
  • Nagamaki (Will probably be Xiba's weapon)
  • Tsukubo
  • Kama, or a Sickle
  • Wire claws (Sima Yi's DW6 weapon)
  • Umbrella (lol)
  • Kusarigama (will probably have the kama included)
  • Tessen Fan (I would like to see a large one (for more further distance) with a Jutte as the secondary weapon for up close)
  • Bladed Bow
But I guess "Deadliest Warriors-like" characters aren't good enough for this series, while fantasy characters are good enough *shrugs and rolls eyes*

jtdam09, your ideas for new weapons and characters work. I don't know why people want more fantasy characters over actual warriors like an Aztec or a Tibetan Assassin. I guess we can include an elf from another dimension into the mix or a dwarf that uses a wooden mechanical robot.

Hmmmmmmmm, I guess it is sarcasm??
Cuz you know, those idea are pretty bad....not Z.W.E.I bad.......like lets put a neko girl for fanservice bad....

^It's fine, we're on the interent. Sarcasm is bound to be taken the wrong way sooner or later. At least you didn't go on a rant like Taffertier.

I didnt know a couple sentences counted as a rant.

And if you asked most players like signia in that one thread, they would agree that Sieg is a solid character and that people still crying about how bad he is has gotten old.

Then again it's hard to tell if you're being serious or not. You'd probably think this is a rant too for some reason.

We'll see how strong Sieg is when people learn the match up and don't bitch about 3B all the time.
My opening joke gone wrong, oh well I am always the ironic joker anyway
I don't know why, you're jokes never register with me. They're actually pretty funny once they register. *sadface*

And if you asked most players like signia....

Sure Signia said this, but what about what taffertier's opinion? It's not a good idea to just say for instance "Viola is OP because she is". That kind of attitude isn't very productive. What's worse is you're just agreeing because you just don't know the character.

What Pocky Yoshi don't know, Pocky Yoshi shuts up. For instance, I don't know Natsu yet people call her OP. The reason is because a certain person shouts out that Natsu is OP because her bombs is invincible frames.

This is something I'm seeing that spreads everywhere like a wildfire. Turns out it misleads certain people who don't know better. Thus, certain people develop a convenient excuse to heal their broken and spoiled ego.

Despite this, I usually go into the lab and figure out what kills me/record a replay/fight a person who knows that character more than I. Not spread info to sound smart. I understand certain peeps are casual, but heed my advice: what you don't know much about, don't speak. Not because you suck. But because, you just don't know the character well.

When a character troubles you, hit the lab and figure out what kills you/record a replay/fight a person who knows that character better. Trust me, you won't be calling people broke once you try this approach. If not, shut up and be casual lol.

Ontopic:
Anyways, I want a bastard sword or a plain long sword style for a long time now....

^But gimmicks too strong!PL0X!!one!1!!

On Topic: I want a non magic trap style and longsword user that doesn't act like a wannabe bad ass. *looks at Mitsurugi

Not true, even weeks back when Omega played Sieg against Keev in the world championships i said Sieg was good. So no, dont just go saying i'm parroting what other players are saying. I'm not going to go on about what you're saying later in this post because i dont know if you're still talking about me specifically. I only said Signia cause he was the most recent player also affirming this belief.

But i agree with what you're saying in general. It is unhealthy for the community to take and run with what other players are saying in regards to character ability simply because they are tourney players or well spoken.

Uh can I point out Omega could win tournies with Zaz who was low tier and I bet he could even give Rock a good showing he's just that damn good. So him winning with Sieg doesn't prove much unfortunately. I don't believe Sieg is horrible but considering how much he whiffs I cannot see how he can be considered good unfortunately.

It's not just Omega in particular, in my own experience and from all events like the recent MLG tourney i think Sieg is good in spite of his bad case of whiffitise. It's like i've heard, and personally agreed with, Sieg is as good as the player makes him. It may be the player themselves not doing an abundance of his more whiff-prone moves, but from what i've seen they dont factor in a lot of his games. I can count the amount of times Sieg has whiffed at the last MLG on one hand, which is just once that i saw.

On topic:

I'm not sure how a non-magic based trap character would work, but i would definitely like to see one. I think it could be like the Dagger and Bomb combo style that SC3 had. The bomb could be used as a trap and for certain moves, while they primarily fight with the dagger.

In one of my games this evening I would need both my hands for my whiffs and that's not including my opponent (who was Sieg too) there were whiffs everywhere. Also cough cough 2KKKKK whiff-tacular tell me that move doesn't whiff with a straight face.

Well yeah but i never see this move used, unless they're just playing around. It might be like i said, the player simply isnt using the more whiff prone moves. Which is unfortunate, it's a bad thing that you have to abstain from a move because it could whiff, but if that's what needs to be done it can be worked around. That string i pretty bad anyway even if it didnt have a tendency to whiff.

Actually no it has a few techtrap uses, a wall combo or two and with the cough nerf again to his roll catching moves it is now one of his best moves for tracking a close range roll on oki. So it is a decent move IF he didn't moonwalk like a 16th century Micheal Jackson.
