I'm more curious if that crossbow chick (and the other 2 guys) are playble. And if so, wtf is she going to do, shoot people the entire match? lol

argh whats the soul calibur soundtrack they use for that trailer .... can't recall at the moment

Have you tried Algol? It's slow, bouncing bubbles that create the "bubble shield." Crossbow bolts are relatively harmless, in theory. Remember Link in SC2.

Yes i know, i wasn't saying anything about shields. I was saying think of bubbles except they are arrows and move extremely quick.

The new sword looks pretty bad-ass. It also actually looks like a sword rather than just a rack load of crystals. Soul Calibur's design in IV was really weak. Thing looked like it'd shatter before cutting anything.

In the SC4 story, weren't there pieces of the Soul Edge/Calibur flying around? Maybe this new sword is a third sword, made up from those pieces? That would explain Sieg and Nightmare still wielding their swords, and might explain the title "Broken Destiny", since they sword is made from broken pieces of the other swords.

Only from a conspiracy theorist would we get this type of answer.

JAY KAY, nice thinking though.

It's very possible I believe that Nightmare or Sieg will wield this sword. It's a Zweihander shape and if you look at Nightmare's soul edge from previous games it bears a striking resemblance.
You're a tiny bit right in that it looks like Soul Edge, but you're looking at the wrong goddamn version, and that's only half of it.

In the prologue of SCIV, readable mostly in the stories for Cervantes and Nightmare: yes, pieces of Soul Edge go flying through the sky, called back together by Nightmare, and Soul Edge is made whole again for the first time since the game "Soul Edge"/"Soul Blade." Even Cervantes willingly gives up what little he had left of it, because he figures that if he lets it go now, he can go claim the whole version later, which is something he couldn't assemble on his own.

Now, both of you fail hard-core at recognizing superficial details. If you look closely at this new sword, you can see that the left half of the handle is a female form as with Xianghua's "good" version of Soul Calibur (the most famous version) which is present in every SC game. The left half of the base of the blade are crystals from SCIV P1 Siegfried's tainted, de-purified Soul Calibur (also how it looked when Algol first conjured it, before it was purified). The right half of the handle and flared points on the right side of the base of the blade are all from SCIV P1 Nightmare's completed Soul Edge.

To the point: it's Soul Calibur and Soul Edge, fused together, and not in that awkward stalemate way from the prologue to SC3, or the similar awkward imprisonment Soul Edge held Soul Calibur in during SC2. This is a full and functional-looking fusion, and would seem to be related to Algol, himself being the result of the two swords meeting. Who wields it? Pretty hard to guess. Nightmare would seem to be the logical deduction, but somehow unsatisfying to just say that's that. Maybe Inferno comes back. "But, oh," you're saying, "Inferno uses everybody's moves. He wouldn't be limited to just one weapon," but he was stuck with one weapon last time we saw him. In SC3AE, he only ever used Cervantes' moves combined with his signature pinch of flying death spin moves.

Dampierre uses the sword, calling it now. Either that or Algol's son becomes a playable character and gets that sword. hell, Algol might use that sword instead of the ones in his hands.
