Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It should not be so difficult to understand why people have different tastes, especially on such a subjective subject.

It's a fighting game, all the characters are caricatures. And Talim is far from being the most generic of characters: she's a girl, without huge boobs or Lolita's outfit, whose primary motivation is neither revenge nor power.
Just for those reasons the character is much less generic than more than half of the roster. Maybe it's because she's less typical than some people love it, and others do not find a reason to like her.

Let the Talim fans in peace! They are traumatized by SCV and will be on the edge until the leak of delivery! :sc2tal1:
Exactly! I just don’t understand why people get so butt hurt over characters they don’t like. Let people like whoever they want.

Updated roster predictions. At this point my gut says 22 to 24 characters, with the corner slots being unlockables. I really do think the center slot is CaS, and that it appears once you start making customs. It really wouldn't make sense to leave an empty space in the middle when the clock is at the bottom, and I doubt they're leaving it for DLC since that usually goes at the extremes and not the center.

I guess I should also mention that Edge Master is relevant to the story, and could actually by a character in this game. If he's in he'd replace one of the corner characters in the high-count scenario.

Also, I don't think we'll get all those DLC characters, just that they'll probably draw from those. I really doubt we'll get guest DLC characters; guest CaS pieces would make more sense for that. Dark Souls and Gundam CaS DLC would be pretty awesome, and could actually happen since Bamco owns those licenses.

Where did the supposed Cassandra leak come from?

I like Talim because she has a very pure side to her. She is not vengeful. She holds no grudges. She tries her best even though she isn't the strongest.

If Talim were a boy he would still be my favourite by the way. The name Talim in Philopino roughly means blade. It is unisex.

In SC2 she had a strong tomboy side. I miss that side but I would be happy with any kind of Talim. I loved her more priestess SC4 style too. Wish she had both tomboy and priestess sides.

Though I like her leaping spinning style enough that if she went dark or lesbian I would still heart her. But I think the pure, loving not hating try hard priestess side of her is the best side of Talim.

Also I'm a tall person. I live playing the short characters. It's more fun for me.

I dont really like Tira's SC3 costume so I hope they make it better if they put her in the game. Also her SC4 costume was the best fight me if you dont agree !!!!

I'm actually not sure lmao. I don't remember if @Vergeben ever confirmed her definitively, or if it's just an inference from the comment about "characters that were in Lost Swords but not SCV." But either way, it's been assumed for a while that she's very likely to come back.

Vergeben got an implication that if
You were not in V but were in Lost sword, the character was in, unless you were Mina, which his source labeled as unlikely.
@Frayhua posted my reddit post two posts above this from back then. But if you need any extra clarification, the wording was kind of inferring that she would be. But when I've since asked, she's the only of all the characters that doesn't sound as definitive as how every character that I've been told and leaked when it comes to whether or not Cassandra will definitely be a launch character. The best comfort I can say is that if you're a Cassandra fan, I wouldn't be worried about her status, generally speaking.

Well, what is the typical average male to female to other character ratio in other games? Not counting artist made characters.
SoulBlade: 7 males, 3 females, 1 other
SoulCalibur: 13 males, 5 females, 1 other
SoulCalibur II: 14 males, 7 females (I'm counting Necrid as an "artist made character")
SoulCalibur III: 16 males, 9 females (not counting bonus characters, with bonus characters 25 males, 17 females)
SoulCalibur IV: 15 males, 11 females
SoulCalibur V: 17 males, 7 females, 1 other (not counting Alpha Patroklos and Pyrrha Omega)

I thought the Talim fandom was only because of Filipino representation.
It's nice to have more racial diversity, to be sure, but I love her because of her purity that is only rivaled by Rock.

Look, people will like what people like. I play Sophitia ever since Soul Edge and my reasoning back then was because she looked cool and seemed to be a nice person.

People will like the characters they like.

That's sadly the norm in fighting games.

SCIV seemed to have done really well with the ratio of male to female characters. Too bad I hated how slow it was.

A good fighting game isn’t based on equal gender characters, I mean it’s nice to have but not so necessary that we can be sad over it.
