Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I agree, I liked him much more with the axes. And I absolutely think sword-and-board Lizardman will severely hurt Cassie's chances of making the base roster. If he's playable, and playable with a story mode to boot, she's demoted to DLC for sure IMO.
Or, which is more likely, he will be a generic character, as always, and Cassandra will get her own moveset because she is much more popular than he could ever be.

I don't know if it has been already posted but here I leave this... just listen carefully:

It was already posted.

I dont think the'll do that. Replacing the axe with a sword will be a significant step away from savagery and into elegance which again is not what he is about. He may not get dual axes but, i feel pretty confident he isn't getting a sword.

I wish Hayate's videos had more sharper edits... I came away not really knowing what Maxi's new moves are or what they look like... same with the Siegfried video... it just looks like we are watching a rolling video without actually emphasising the moves.

However, I did spot something interesting with Zas in this still.... do you guys notice it as well...?

Come on, guys! You need to brush up on this... all your attention to detail with SCVI design flaws and bloopers don't mean shit if you haven't already figured out the identity of the ruling class:

I'm still skeptical in some areas, @DanteSC3.

SoulCalibur 6 VER 3.jpg

Talim barely seems to fit the supposed spot while Voldo and Tira leave some blur left. A similar issue occurs with Cervantes, though that may be me putting a little too much space between the V and A. Unless they plan to use a smaller font size though, I cannot get Seong Mi-Na to fit.

The remaining three slots on the story mode are likely to be SC1 returners, Hwang, Seong Mina and Rock.
Keep hyping yourself up for disappointment.
I don't understand. If the three best characters are likely to return, why should we expect disappointment?

On the Cassandra vs Rock debate... It might be worth thinking about roster diversity in terms of fighting game archetypes. The game has plenty of cute girls, sexy ladies, sexy guys, monsters and freaks. But Astaroth is the only "big guy" on the roster. And even then, he's not a true grappler. Sure, Cassandra is more popular, but ANY character with boobs would be more popular than Rock. Boobs > pecs. It's just science.

But if you want to appeal to new players, who may have experience with Zangief in Street Fighter or King in Tekken, it's really useful to have a character they can comfortably transition into.

@Hayate , since you asked let me highlight the type of problems with the Siegfried video that the Maxi video similarly suffers from:
sieg1.PNG

Missing moves - good I could follow
Returning moves - it's not clear what A+B looks like. There appears to be several moves shown before 3B, and I don't know which one A+B.

sieg2.PNG

New attacks - again, it's not clear what the A-to-B slide is? The video shows a montage of attacks.

Dark Legacy - this was the most confusing of all to understand. I really don't know what I am looking at. It's just a montage again.

It's true, the names don't fit exactly, but I believe that they've made some a little shorter or a little longer in an attempt to throw us off.

A true grappler for a weapons based fighting game should wield a chain. That means several options for short to mid-range command throws.

The issue with Rock i believe is that he just lacks the brutality and intensity you would expect from a large character. I remember a lot of headbutts, butt slams and repeated ragdoll throws coming from him if the player opponent couldnt figure out how to escape the grabs. That isn't very appealing to most people. First of all physical attacks have a less satisfying sound effect to them.

His movelist needs to be redone. It should be easy to figure out, physical powerhouses are supposed to be badass in any fighting game but that would essentially entail them making a brand new character and i'm not sure they'll bother with that.

Don’t think of Lizardman as his only name. He also goes by his real name, Aeon.

Your font sizes for the inserts is too large.

You got a point. Rock could possibly be the only grappler of the game. A good choice for those new players who always play with these kind of chars. Cassandra is just another hot babe with no point of real interest. That's why I think that she is an "useless" character

I'm quite aware. In fact, Aeon was one of the names I included in my earlier post quoted below. And no, the font isn't "too large" since all the letters were copy/pasted from the same image and then aligned along the same vertical axis as other names on the list. Feel free to criticize the method, but certainly not in that respect.

If Windstar speaks true, here's my updated Select Screen:

I've also edited a list of names for most of the proposed characters. I did my best with Mi-na, but I didn't bother on Hwang without an in-game W for reference. This might help the deductions based on the blur lengths and known timeline information.

Happy hunting!

Yah, Voldo is one of those characters who always had his own little gimmick so I'm no surprised he has nothing "new" in that department.

There was never any rule that stated that every game must have an outfit as preorder bonus. What is included by them is already more than enough, your comments have no logic.
I'm talking about the preorder bonus in Japan, which is the same teardrop swimsuit that you unlocked in SCV. Additionally, the stewardess dress from SCV DLC is one of the costumes coming in the SP. They're recycling costumes to sell you them again.
