Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Purposely waiting on incorporating anything until the next game would seem like a foolhardy way to develop any game, much less one nearing the end of a console's life cycle.

On a slightly different note does anyone else think the amount of stages we've currently seen is not indicative of the final amount of stages in the game.
I dunno, it's hard to say, because you'd think they would be showing off new stages with the last four characters revealed since the E3 build, but they haven't been, so it's possible that's all we have. Then again, there's a story screenshot for Voldo in the Money Pit, so if that says anything, maybe... I would hope for more stages, personally, especially if there's another story mode, it would get samey after a while, maybe they're saving them up to hit us with a bunch at Gamescom would be the hope if there's going to be more.

I would just rather them go all-in with a full game dedicated to the stories instead of just adding scraps as DLC, which is how having characters with stories on the side would come across. SoulCalibur VI is clearly designed with this timeline of 1583-1590 in mind, so let it thrive in that timeline, and make the next game about the illustrious time of 1590-1591 where three major games took place in the span of a single year. It would allow so much more detail and quality to be given instead of tacking it on to an existing product. Besides that, next generation means it just looks and feels that much better, not sure why this would be a bad thing to give the next game a grand stage.

Developing early on in a new console's life isn't a very easy thing to do, especially for a fighter. Next gen is probably like 2 years away, which is like 4 years away for most fighters. So, people should instead hope the current project is supported as long as possible, kind of like end of life SFIV. They could quite easily take a rich man's Arcsys approach and have large mechanic, single player, and character additions in future seasons. It really shouldn't be inconceivable considering T7 just did exactly that. As long as the cash flow is there (sales, DLC, and tournament support), it can be far more than "adding scraps." This is a fairly different era that SC has almost completely missed out on up until this point, so their past practices shouldn't be indicative of how they can handle things in the future, especially with Bamco and fighting games currently thriving.

I will be very honest with you people, considering that they like to put gimmicks in this game are being sold with pride, I don't see why Raphael wouldn't be a vampire and I will be very honest, Raphael original story was nothing special until he became a vampire and even then the most interesting parts were the parallels with Interview with the Vampire. From a gameplay stand point his vampirism wasn't all that integrated into the game, we had one grab and one critical finish, if we squint maybe the teleportation, but even that was very poorly implemented after III.

Design wise, besides wearing bats from IV and V, usually upside down which could be a reference to the Major Arcana Death reversed which have many meanings but revival of something that haunts you, but otherwise he was always wearing just aristocratic things and all be very honest, the bright colours of his original design were godawful, green works for him much better.

I'm worried. How many copies this game have to sell in order to be considered as a success?

Guys, what do you think about potential mods for this game? Like I know DoA 5 had sooo many costume mod, while there's none for Tekken 7, I think?

T7 has Denuvo's anti-tamper setting, which refuses to let the game load any outside assets. Only recently have modders learned to import textures and images, but still nothing on models or sounds.

Very likely SCVI will do the same.

But what about making the value of sliders for CaS higher, you think that can be modded?

They waited 6 years to make this game, so nothing is off the table.

Anyone remember Rise of the Incarnates? That game was cancelled roughly at the same time Lost Swords was cancelled. I believe that games' failure may have helped SC6 get the green light. Its just conjecture on my part but i think it makes sense.

Anyway, i wouldnt say they waited 6 years. They werent even considering releasing a new title for a while.

....
And why would you be requiring such a feature?
