Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I feel like these types of discussions should get auto quarantined, nothing is ever really solved and it usually causes drama. I'm sure eventhubs are busy enough without having to write "Is 8wayrun a hive of the neo-alt-centre-right?"

There are better and more visible places to have these discussions if you really want.

That's my problem too. I guess I started contributing to the problem, out of sheer frustration if nothing else. This game just can't be good enough for people, they have to slather it in their own agenda and their own weird way of seeing shit.

I mean, I'm kinda on your side of the argument. I don't really care about the representation people want because I think the game is fine as it is.
It just feels silly how long it goes on for. The game really can't release soon enough so these things (might) finally cease.

Fridays are the only days I have off this semester so I'm pretty excited I'll have all of the 19th to enjoy SCVI. I'm really looking forward to Soul Chronicle and Libra of Soul, as I've missed a proper story mode in a Soulcalibur game (if it's any good remains to be seen, but I'm going in hopeful). I'm also looking forward to see how much my favorite characters have changed moveset-wise (especially Raphael, I found him unplayable for the past two games, but he looks so much better in this game).

I have the week off after the 19th (my vacation time happened to be that week). Hopefully i can actually play the game on my PC or I'll have to give in an play it on PS4 and pick up playstation plus while I'm at it...I'd prefer free online but will have to wait and see.

I'm sorry for derailing the thread (I know the main topic is about discussing gender representation in video gaming) but I randomly noticed that Sophitia's Critical Edge is loosely based on her Critical Finish from SC4:


Slash -> throw sword -> sword goes boom -> strike fancy pose with the camera zooming in on her face. The animation and cinematography are much fancier in SC6 though.

But this begs the question... If Cassandra ends up being in SC6, will her CE be an extremely cinematic, oscar-worthy animation of her sitting on the opponent's face!?

Aeon is a Spartan, they should give him that kick.

I will be personally insulted if Cassandra CE doesn't involve her butt and her gimmick is that all butt attacks are + on block.
 
I'm gonna make a CaS female with Groh's style. Make her look a bit like setsuka. I feel his style is probably the closest thing to hers if we won't see her in the game for a while.

I already made a nice setsuka in SCV so I'll probably loosely base it on that depending on which parts are available in SC6.
