Looking up rare characters in previous games and building upon older leaks/rumours would be a relatively easy way of generating believable but fake rumours. Unless the guy said something new which you can confirm to be correct I wouldn't consider anything he says to be true.

That said, if they're actually officially making Maxi gay and adding his boyfriend as a playable character, then that would be surprisingly progressive by Namco and also fitting for Soul Calibur (considering how much fan service there is with the female characters).

And with that said... just give me Raphael already gosh darn it! Dress him up in a tutu and make him Maxi's secret lover if necessary! Just give me Raphael!

Yeah, using a name already related to the character is waaaay too easy. Just like saying "Ludovigo" would have been a playable character if Dampierre was revealed.

Of course i though about that, but it's not like some past leaks from Verge weren't already ended to be confirm. (Not saying this will end to be 100% true as well)
 
I’m thinking the female could be Erza Scarlet if Zoro is indeed the guest. At least it’d be an interesting nod to Death Battle which some fans try to do in SC anyways due to CaS.

I dread the Cervantes news more than anything else and honestly don’t think Hwang is as much a priority as well as his confusing history as a derivative of Mitsurugi then Xianghua. I’ll justify his absence as he was only added in the Dreamcast version. Him being DLC would be a lame throwback of sorts.

Kind of dread Raph’s situation since we haven’t really heard the best things about his return. Possibly because they’ll have to remove his vampirism? Or they’ll change his backstory to being the one whose been infected by the Evil Seed to justify his vampirism? I mean Kilik can go Necalli now.

Ironically my main CAS be using Cervantes when he’s meant to use two scimitars But gets just one with Hwang if rumors are true. But Hwang just screams DLC bait since the general audience begged for him.

And I’m guessing #21 and #22 would just be unlockables.
 
Having ivy lick out of serpents embrace is weird, unless counter hit shoulder launches, because she can combo into it but not out of it otherwise.

Also, she can do the CH launch of close range SE B+K, which is also cute. I always wondered why 6B+K only popped them up in the air.

Really, really happy so see SCII stances back, even though we seemingly won't get While Landing attacks back.
If Taki has Possession Wall Rush again i will need new pants.

Yeah It is strange, I'd at least expect one new female character for the game.
And yeah @Pyrrus looking forward to seeing more of her game play cause what's been shown so far looks great, It all flows so well her attacks and is so beautiful.

- Some specific characters they knew about included Hwang, Talim, Grøh's adoptive father is named Friderich, Maxi's lover named Jacker (and yes he is a guy), and Roronoa Zoro from the One Piece anime/manga as the guest.
- 3 of the 6 DLC characters they knew about included Zasalamel, Cervantes, and that there would be a female guest character in the pack, which they mentioned the Zasalamel as DLC plans obviously changed last month.

Hmm.....interesting if true.

I'd surprised if they did choose One Piece's Roronoa Zoro as a guest character (I am a fan of the series), although I'm not entirely sure about the idea of having Cervantes as DLC though.
 
I really hope the official announcements are not spaced out one month apart like the Jan and Feb news were....I sincerely hope they accelerate the drops as we get closer to the release.

As for the potential leak of Hwang....I continue to be blackpilled on the matter. I won't believe it until I see it. I'm sorry I just can't imagine a One Piece character in the Soul Calibur roster until I see it in the flesh.

Wonderful to see Zasalamel back though. Ivy looks great even if her voice is a lot older than her appearance.

I think two things...
They destroyed Raphael in IV and V, both in character and in gameplay.
Some people have a bizarre obsession with fictional underage girls and feel anything and everything would be improved if replaced by an underaged female version of said thing.

Raphael can easily be saved, but I'd bet Amy is more popular right now.

This is where you disappoint yourself if you think a game a good ways from release will give you multiple announcements in the span of a month.

To be fair the game was announced in DECEMBER. Its feb and the game has been playable to the public 3 times and 8 characters are announced so far.


That's not only fair, but unfair to expect even more than that. Im sure the closer we get to EVO the game will be playable at major tournaments the same way Tekken 7 was during late 2016-early 2017
