Would Hwang fans want that though? That's the tricky thing with Hwang. Do you go Xianghua-like Hwang, SCIII Hwang, or a new, heavily Yun-like Hwang?

well they either do that or make him more SC3 Hwang, and then plan to release Yun later, contingency if the game is popular enough.

Whenever you splice characters together you create major problems down the road no only with fans of those characters but also if you want to bring characters back. It hits deep at the core of them because you're messing with the tools of those characters which give uncertainty on what will happen in the future. We have already seen this with Astaroth taking moves from Rock in SC6 meaning Rock fans will not only most likely miss out on their main but most likely see their character lose that move to Astaroth if Rock does come back for SC6.

If Hwang return in a base roster or as DLC, I think that he'll has an updated SCIII moveset and some Yun-Seong's moves! I really want him in the game, but I'm fine with Yun-Seong too!

Hilde always appealed to me cause she is a knight, with lance and sword and armor and shit, and I like medieval elemensts and european style in SC

It appears Hwang, Cassandra, Edge Master, & Lizardman(Generic) are just Soul Chronicle NPCs. That is why I think Hwang & LIzardman aren't going to be DLC. Inferno was the last revealed character and he's going to be in the center slot because @bigbrook asked a Namco Employee at NYCC 2018 about Inferno and he responded with a wink.

I'd be happy if it was SCIII-IV axe and shield. As a Lizardman main, I preferred his speed from those games to the Kratos-but-with-less-range of SCV. But a cosmetic axe using this slightly altered Sophitia moveset we've seen would definitely bother me.

I remember so clear that Okubo said in his interview that they still working to get more than 20 characters at launch, so I hope this week or the last week before the release to have some news and reveals!

It’s possible that if the rumored clone characters who are intended for base don’t make it in by launch, that they will be free or non season pass DLC for cheap. They said something about the possibility of free updates.

Harada promised legacy characters as free-DLC in the beginning and they became a second season pass.
Don't expect anything of value to be free in 2018 (at least not from Bamco).

Astaroth getting most of Rock's throws on top of his own throws probably confirms you're screwed more than anything. If Rock were to return, it would only be if he had a brand new style (highly unlikely) or if he was a bonus/echo character for Astaroth.

I just want his ground throw game. I don’t really care about the other stuff he gets from him. Still that will need a good rework with the new engine, so maybe it is true.
I actually think that Lizardman, Hwang, and rock may be NPCs in the story mode and their movelist will be cleaned up and used for other dlc. Hwang will be yun, Lizardman willl be cass or the blacksmith, and rock will be his son or daughter. Season 1 may just be a cleanup of the legacy characters

It really is difficult to predict who will be in the Season Pass with a vast majority of characters missing and an expectation for another guest character. I honestly would rather have only Geralt as a guest character since adding more guests take a bit of the spotlight away from him. Thinking of Tekken 7 though, Eliza was not part of the Season Pass so it may be possible that the guest character is not part of the Season Pass but that is just me being hopeful. But if that is the case then a Season Pass containing Tira, Aeon, Hwang, and Cassandra would make or a pretty good lineup. Then when SoulCalibur VI Season 2 is revealed, Bandai Namco could show a trailer of Setsuka and Hilde or even a new character. I would personally like to see the return of Rock as well since Astaroth is our only big character in the game. Bandai Namco should really invest in their characters more than relying on guests that will likely not appear in the future iteration of the game. The only guest character that I would want to see is Link for a Nintendo Switch version since he would technically be a returning character and functions as both advertisement and a great throwback to SoulCalibur II which was the crowning achievement of the SoulCalibur franchise.
Who knows though, with the way Bandai Namco has been behaving by immediately exiting Sophitia's story mode and not allowing a playthrough of Seong Mi-na's story mode, maybe there actually are unlockable characters. If there are then Aeon and Edge Master would be likely candidates. Who else other than Edge Master could take the top left empty slot in the select screen? We've also seen Aeon but maybe he might not be finished since his moves are somewhat close to Sophitia and we will get Hwang instead. I wouldn't count on this but it is wishful thinking. Only a few more days until we return to the stage of history and find out who will be in the game.
