Yea that just sucks especially since it was mentioned that it would earlier. I thought that one especially would have the most money to win.

Where ? From the beginning it's "only main event will have cash prize" and World team is a special event. + you can still do the normal 5v5 and get some cash here ... if you win, that is. =)
 
So that confirms it. No cash prize for the ridiculous amount of drama from that thread. Even though I admit I loved every last morsel of it. Part 2 may begin soon hahaha.
 
Huh, I figured that one of the main draws of this event would have a cash reward. Oh well. I hope everyone on Team USA stays on, lol.
 
The World Cup was designated as a special event since September. Plus there's plenty of tourneys with cash prizes. So if money is an issue, play the lottery.
 
It's only that way because money is tight for me and with su as well. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to go there just to visit France and play u guys as well, but some people just don't have the money. It's just the hype behind that big team tournament and now it just feels like theirs less motivation. Probably because of money issues we have. If money wasn't a problem I honestly wouldn't care if their wasn't a prize.

Starting to feel like Malek should get his money back. He can get himself a nice massage with a happy ending and put away the rest into saving.

As saitoh said, since the start of everything, it has been written on the english website that both 5vs5 team tournament AND solo would have cash prize, not the world team one, wich will have games, dotations, but not cash. Why ? Simple : cash is coming from registrations, but the world team is free entry and limited to invited players...

NEVERTHELESS, on friday, you have a real team tournament, open to any team (same rules as the world team tourney, but you can have as many us teams as you want). In fact, the only difference with the world team cup is that more players will enter the event... But you will have of course the same players as in the world team etc. Your team will play that one, and you can of course get the money on this one...

Then, the solo tournament, will probably be up to 256 players, which means around 3800 euros in the maximal configuration...

So...
 
na, I said 3800 euros in the maximal configuration, wich means a maximum players and a maximum of players who pay on the day of the event (15 euros)

10 euros is only if you pay via paypal, before the event. Most of the time, this is 10% of the total of registrations...

So, to be realistic, the precise amount of cash prize should be something like :

30*10+226*15 = 3690 euros.

But yes, once again, it will depend on the registrations the day of the event.

Then, it should be :

70% of the amount for N°1
20 % for N°2
10% for N°3

But, this is not fixed yet. Please, wait the official announce about that...

World Team Cup is free. And there is no cash prize to win with the World Team Cup.
Cash prize is for Solo competition, and Team competition. Sorry for the previous mistake.


I still hope USA will send a dream team in order to compete in the event.

This was never about primarily money but lets be real it was an excellent incentive. With me, thuggish, and rtd on the team I felt the event was sealed for our victory easy (no offense; just consider this friendly trash talk) and i'm sure I speak for them as well but I will focus on that referring to me. So I already had confidence in each others attributes that we would go there make up the money it cost to get there plus more and get bragging rights.

Then the solo everyone was on their own and i'm sure each of us think we bring something to the table that could make us feel either one of us could take it. But before then based on the first paragraph due to the other two tournaments we already made up what we spent and more because we were that confident. Now only one person can gain any money depending on if they win the solo or not. Winning the one team tournament doesn't even break even. It is an expensive trip.

Its no different from the states. You choose to go to the tournaments with the best reward in cash from how far u are in a pool of many (well when it was like that lol) because it is reckless to go to one that is gonna eat ur pockets with no return. Then it all falls in line as most people end up at the same event for the same reason and u end up with quality competition as well.

Malek:

U know what I had already pm'ed you. You helped out a lot and ur donation is beyond ridiculously generous. So if I do 100% choose not to (because u know my trip can be payed in full since ur one of the few I informed about it) consider urself helped with any expenses u need when u come to the U.S. regardless if I go or not. I stand by that.

This is the SAME rules, I would even said that you don't have "dream teams" in the normal team tournaments, so, it is maybe "easier" lol.

So, what is the difference ? You thought it was 10 000 euros for the world team cup ???

Anyway, it is your choice. I would just add that you cannot think about this trip only on the cash expected, even if it was 20 000 euros, even if you are very strong, you must think about cannes as an event where you have to be. If you win the money... good. But you must appreciate the trip, even if you don't...
 
Considering the air ticket to France cost me more than what I make in a Month...
And one breakfast in France costs 4 times more than a meal costs over here... (Hell 1 bus ride in France can buy me a meal over here if I look hard enough.. :P)
