Pyrrha Note: "Cursed blood flowing through her body"
The body of Pyrrha's mother, Sophitia, was once struck with fragments of the evil sword upon Soul Edge's destruction, but one fragment was impossible to remove and was left alone. That piece was buried close to her heart, and she could die from damage to the heart if attempted to remove.

That piece of the cursed sword continued to emit evil energy within Sophitia. 3 years later, Sophitia gave birth to her child Pyrrha. Having undertaken all the evil energy flowing in her mother's body, Pyrrha was born as a child with a powerful evil aura.

The fragment of the cursed sword increases in power by devouring the souls of opponents killed by Pyrrha. Forced by Tira, Pyrrha has already claimed the souls of others several times. Now Pyrrha's body, whenever a destructive emotion flares up, is corrupted by an overflowing of evil energy.

I was hoping this text would confirm my theory that "Pyrrha's shard = Sophitia's shard", and thus reveal that Sophitia may have either severely injured or killed herself. Still, it sort of implies it anyway, so maybe I'm on the right track.

This means many things 1. Sophitia would have stopped aging if she still survived, 2. Pyrrha will stop aging unless she gets killed, and 3. That means Patroklos is a malfested as well, since he is the youngest sibling. This could make a great twist in SCVI.

This does imply that Sophitia might have killed herself or requested someone to kill her if she did not want to have the SE shard still in her body.

this is very interesant...i want to know more of Raph and others characters, like Taki, Nightmare...etc

Say, what's this about Night Terror and Algol in astral chaos? I'm about ready to lay down money betting that the reason there's no more Night Terror is Algol putting the smack down on that uber badass.

I wish I could do more than read katakana phonetically :(

Some more quick info:
-Only picture of Setsuka is a small picture (from SC3 I think) on Alpha Patroklos' page with some lines of text. Probably explains how Patroklos' got his style from her. Doesn't look like there's more info about her.

-I see no pictures of Talim, Zas or Rock. It's possible there isn't anything written about them.

-There's a small box with some info about Hwang, Yun-Seong and Mina. Might explain what happened to them.

-There's a substantial amount of text about Xianghua and Taki.

A few more photos. It's difficult taking high quality photos from the book. But well, anyone who wants to see the entire artbook in high quality should just buy it anyway.

Who else agrees that Raphael's outfit on the top right would have been a much better 2p outfit than his current one.

Didn't Ivy's SCIV profile say she found a man doing prayer rituals at the ruins of the Ling Sheng-Su Temple, and he was the one who told her about Soul Calibur? So it seems more likely to be Edge-Master to me. For a guy who is supposed to be silent about what he knows, he sure blabbed a lot to Ivy.

I'm pretty sure the guy in Ivy's profile is meant to be Kong, not Edgemaster. Don't know the translation, but the original text says he "calls himself a man who has been excommunicated", which Kong was (after all that about stealing Soul Calibur off the temple)

As for Solnhofen, don't know really. Could be him, but that'd imply the Bird of Passage is still active since he wasn't really the top boss, just (one of many?) task force leader. And indeed, Ares is still Palgaea (he's referred by both names in the chart).

and 3. That means Patroklos is a malfested as well, since he is the youngest sibling. This could make a great twist in SCVI.

Patt being malfested is said in Elysium's profile, she found a small amount of evil energy within him. But yeah, it could mean Pyrrha may eventually start aging slower if not dealt with, or if she still sports that nifty arm of hers. I want to believe Sophitia may have given up her life to save Pyrrha, which is such a great way to see her go.

Say, what's this about Night Terror and Algol in astral chaos?

I guess I can have him included with the Taki package, it's not a big profile. If you don't mind waiting.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. The translations of the profile just said "a man" so I figured it was either Kilik or Edgemaster, but it makes sense that it was Kong. I suppose that confirms that Kong knew just how special the Krita Yuga was. I wonder when/why he went from fighting alongside Hwang and Yi Sun Shin to living in the area of the old temple. But it does set up his finally meeting Xianghua and training Xiba.

@ Tuzark_melire : Thanks a bunch for posting the translations for us viewers! We do appreciate your efforts in this matter...! m(_ _)m

After reading everything that was translated so far, I came up with this conclusion: future storyline implications in the next Soul Calibur games are going to be interesting, to say the least.... Now I'm excited! :D

Since Sophy has the evil blood that was passed down onto patroklos and pyrrha that makes them malfested does it not?

I think Patroklos may not count as a full-blown malfested, Elysium's profile says he only had a bit of evil energy in him and Ivy's SCIV storyline says that people really corrupted by the evil energy can't use Soul Calibur. Which probably means Patroklos would be incapable of doing so if he were malfested.

@Tuzark_merlire:
I see You translated a good deal of this book - great job!
----
I finally have New Legends. Are there any important parts left, that Tuzark didn't cover already?
If there is still demand for some passages, and if Tuzark isn't working on them, let me know.

cheers!

PS
on a side note, I'm rather disappointed with the book :/

What about the book are you disappointed with?

Thanks for translating the entire book, Tuzark.
So the book is already translated? Good to know, thanks!
What about the book are you disappointed with?
well, it's quite subjective, but in my opinion:
1. I was hoping for a different text-to-pictures ratio to begin with. Considering the book to be 200-page A4 size and with majority of characters having 4 pages each, the amount of info is a bit underwhelming and unsatisfactory.
2. I would throw away 'designer's comment' - instead I'd rather read 'character creation, new weapon styles creation, PS team's approach to each character' column, than reading some random fashion clues (like from raphael: "the design of his clothes comes from a bat, hanging down. We also revealed his chest to highlight his metamorphosis" - ?? unfortunately, this sort of info is either obvious, irritating or useless to me)
3. also, the book's rather expensive
4. in my case, the decisive point is still ahead, I haven't read yet what seems to be the most important part - interview. If, in the interview, PS gives us their rationale and explains (concept-wise, not story-wise) why:
- there are 3 mimics,
- pat-apat changes style drastically and pyr-opyr style looks very similiar (not talking about frames and other technical things where they may differ)
- pyr-opyr holds 2 character slots,
then I will be more or less content. If they provide no such explanation, this book in my eyes will be officially a disaster.

I see. Still grappling with myself if I should get it or not...
