Maxi General Q&A

Noone can block i16 lows on reaction...unless they're really really really special. That's faster than mitsu's 2KB, Faster than Hwang's SC1 3AA which noone blocks on reaction but by ANTICIPATION....big difference. People barely block Pat's and Pyhrra's 1K which are far slower than i16. I will estimate that a low around i20~21 is probably the fastest low you can block reflexively and consistently, and that's someone with really good reflexes. I could have back in the day, not so much now :(

Everytime you see Maxi do a dipping low ducking type attack, he's going low. Any more and he will actually tell you he is doing it.
 
Since when you use aGi you are most of the time going to GI a launcher or something even nastier, I think it's legit that you counter them for a decent amount of damage... especially because you can be heavily punished for that aGI aswell x)
 
So fellas, looks like we got a patch comin out March 21st. Ive been trying like hell to find out what it consists of, but Ive only come up with a few maxi related changes that Im not fully convinced they are legit. But I got 2 sources that say the same thing......

-Maxi's BE damage has been adjusted.

Thats all I got. Doesnt say to what degree. Thats just it.

Compared to the other changes.......we got off REALLY easy! I was totally expecting a nerf. We arent outta the woods yet, as soon as I (or anyone) have more information (or more reliable information) it will be thrown up promptly.

Damn, that probably means that the LI A BE doesn't do much damage anymore. Sucks, I loved taking a huge chunk of someone's life with one blow.
 
I heard about something like LI A wouldn't track anymore without BE, that means we would have to use a BE to make the opponent respect our LI stance

Heard it on a french cast, don't know if it s really legit

This is where I got one of my sources. The other was Heaton in chat. and Heaton likes to mess with me!!

These ARE NOT reliable or in concrete by any means AT ALL. Im not buying it....yet!!
 
For me Maxi is not very strong. Many ppl think Maxi is broken because they are lazy to learn the match-up
I hate patch after only 1.5 months when game releases. Back to SC4, at the beginning, many ppl complain Maxi is strong and in the patch 1.0.3 Namco didn't buff Maxi

Hope no big nerf for Maxi. Maxi still have many holes in his game but his big dmg makes ppl be afraid to see those holes
 
After 2 shitty iterations to this game they finally do something right with this character. If they fuck him up this patch I will throw in the towel permanently and boycott all Namco games for good. I'd rather be on a paintball field making mofos hurt real bad than have to subject myself to the same thing that happened with SC3 &4.

I don't know where to put this, just something funny I randomly found out (may be known for long but heh)

How to make 115 damage with Maxi, using only one move ?
Corner your opponent (a true corner, not just a wall)
for best result, knock him down
throw out 6B4

yeah, that was in SC4 and maybe earlier games too, but you could actually do it against just any wall. I really don't like 66B4 in this game very much. It doesn't seem to be quite the impenetrable wall that it was in SC4. And I really hate that blocking it moves them off to the side so that LI K whiffs afterwards.

Thats so true, in the stream commentary there was Jaxel and some other dude, and one of them thought the BE version of LI A was safe, thats how you know they dont know Maxi when they think a key move is safe. Everyone even freaking says on stream commentary how they dont know Maxi, i've heard it several times now.
