Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

JG would be nice to have if they took out the advantage (somehow) and made a failed one easily punishable.

Not sure about the ability to use it during tech/after GI but it'd be cool to have it against BAs and unblockables.

Man, seeing the new build is gonna be so damn refreshing.

My hopes:
  • Assuming they decided on the number of characters at launch (hopefully no less than 24), we get the exact number of slots this time.
  • Same with the stages. I hope each character has a unique stage. Sharing stages is wack, especially since every single stage I've seen so far is gorgeous. The one i liked the least was the supposed Maxi stage, and even that was fine.
  • I hope to see a more well designed HUD and battle notation art. I understand that they're going for a more historic theme this time, rather than the usual crystallized theme, but as it is now, it feels bland.
  • I've said it before, but I REALLY hope that they remove the 1~3 second long freeze after someone lands the winning strike and the "K.O" pops up. We don't need that shit from SFV in the soul series. It was never a thing in any of the previous SC titles IIRC and i hope it doesn't become a thing now.
  • Movelists.
E3 can't come soon enough...

JG is gone. I'm glad GI's & RE's have a weakness in losing to Guard Breaks because GI & RE counters Throws & ALL Hit Levels simultaneously.

They talk about parents and siblings being dead... It's the first time they talk about Taki having siblings, right?
First time they were that specific, sure. They just said it was her entire family before, whether or not that meant just parents or parents and siblings was ambiguous, but not impossible.
To be specific they passed away from illness. And no this isn't new, it's the same exact bio she's had in the Japanese version since SC1.

I think it's safe to say that Bamco won't be satisfied with just the bunch of us, the diehard fans on this forum, pre-ordering the game and won't leave it half-finished because of that. To my understanding, only the studios that have guaranteed sales are prone to releasing unfinished stuff. e.g. Square-Enix and Ubisoft.

I bet at least 90% of active members of 8wr will own this game one way or another.

The big thing I don't understand is that the last two games have set the precedent that there will most likely for sure be a collector's edition, which you cannot preorder right now. Those who want that version preordering the normal version of the game doesn't make any sense.

OK.I will try to explain it with my bad english. My main concern is if a lot of people pre-order the game now maybe Namco will give us unfinished game again. How to encourage someone to make something better when he already got your money?

You're not giving Namco money, you're giving the retailer money. Unless you're preordering directly from Namco's store it really doesn't effect them at all.
