Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I'm talking about the preorder bonus in Japan, which is the same teardrop swimsuit that you unlocked in SCV. Additionally, the stewardess dress from SCV DLC is one of the costumes coming in the SP. They're recycling costumes to sell you them again.
But it's just the pre-order, right? Doesn't the season pass have 3 armor packs/100 equipment pieces(?)

Yeah, so there are two preorder bonuses repeated, from a game that little to no one bought, nonetheless, and that means everything in the game will be recycled. Hooray for more of your logic.

so how was that namco panel at SDCC?
The SC part was basically just about art. They showed some concepts for gr0h and yoshi.

The tekken part showed some unused character designs. There was one for rocky's daughter, a bikini- clad girl dressed as a kangaroo. There was a cool matsumoto-looking lady with long blond hair, a whip, a white jacket, and white thigh high boots. Harada was asking the audience which characters they wanted to see in T7. I shouted RIDLEY but I don't think it's gonna happen, sorry Ridley fans :(

They also showed something from jump force which i mostly ignored :v

I don't understand. If the three best characters are likely to return, why should we expect disappointment?

On the Cassandra vs Rock debate... It might be worth thinking about roster diversity in terms of fighting game archetypes. The game has plenty of cute girls, sexy ladies, sexy guys, monsters and freaks. But Astaroth is the only "big guy" on the roster. And even then, he's not a true grappler. Sure, Cassandra is more popular, but ANY character with boobs would be more popular than Rock. Boobs > pecs. It's just science.

But if you want to appeal to new players, who may have experience with Zangief in Street Fighter or King in Tekken, it's really useful to have a character they can comfortably transition into.

I have to disagree, Rock is so boring when compared to the characters you mentioned.
He’s shown a lot less personality than Cassandra in terms of weapon style.
Personality is the biggest complement for a good moveset.

B,B,B “you’re in the way” is so dry.
Give me somersault flip grabs and shield beat downs any day.

I agree with this but it really shouldn't be that way. A brute grappler type should be easy to nail down in terms of general appeal one would think. Somebody failed big time on his conception.

Sooooo is Cassandra next for a trailer at Evo? Maybe Cass, Mina, and Tira or somethin?

Do you think we'll see the art anytime soon lol

Grappler characters are never flashy. Having a variety of characters would help players navigate to their favorite play style. I hope Cassandra makes it but I hope we get one more grappler character even more

Can you at least describe how Groh and Yoshi looked?
I only actually remember 2 of them. Gr0h had a design where half of his face was dark/scarred like twoface, and the inside of his cloak was yellow. I don't think it was as good as the design we got tbh. Yoshi's were more interesting. He had a cool one where his body was entirely red and he had 4 arms.

I understand the grappler concept but this is a weapon based fighter.
There are a hell of a lot more weapons from all over the world I’d rather see in first.

They can switch Cassie up a little with a spear and shield or a long sword and shield.
The games sub mechanics seem to be adding depth and variety already.

And Cassandra had a lot of potential for the story they didn’t explore.
They always wrote her in as ‘just off the mark’ or ‘close but no cigar’.
Which annoyed the hell out of me and before we could get an answer she disappears...

Add rocks son what’s his name Bangoo? (and NOT with a large weapon)
Hopefully he has more of an interesting personality.

Seriously, Rock was so dry.
it was like substituting a meal for bread and ice.
(Thank god for Astaroth)

Guilty Gear is a weapon based game, but it has a grappler. The same for MK or Skullgirls. Every good beat'em'up has his own throws based character.
About Cassandra: I'm noticing that a lot of people here speak about a Cassie with different weapons. That's an interesting indication. You may not like Rock's gameplay, but devs gave him a clear and precise mandate: He's a grappler, and that's all.
Cassie actually is nothing more than a Sophitia 2.0. She never had her own iconic gameplay. We can say that Cassandra is an anonymous char. So much anonymous that all you speak about giving her new weapons (in other words: a new gameplay).
