So I just realized since the mage character is going to be playable that means he will be the only character on the roster that it will make sense if he's not actually holding his weapon in combat.
Also as one of the people who said Harada had his fingerprints over that trailer I imagine that Harada probably sees soulcalibur as a competing fighting game taking away people from Tekken...more than that though I think he would prefer there to just be tekken and take any budget given to soulcalibur to make Tekken a better game. Part of me now wonders if the limited options in Tekken 7 is because they put that money to Soul Calibur VI.
In regards to Tira being DLC one final thing to say about this is that even though she may have been leaked extremely early on I do believe she could still be worked on to this day. Just because they knew who they wanted to have and had the voice actors go in already doesn't mean the character is done. Planning for these types of games take years and if Tira was an afterthought a year ago I can completely believe it. Game development takes time. If we remember Vergenben originally believed Zasalamel would end up being DLC...I'm thinking that this changed because they realized that he would be a good narrator for libra of the soul mode and so focus went into his character and because of his new direction as having a role in the libra mode he probably got done earlier than they expected.
Honestly I'm getting the game regardless so I'm not too concerned with anything outside of the perception of whim buyers which I imagine would have made up a bulk of the sales.
