Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

The guy with the cards also tweeted that these are all that he has. He’s not hiding anyone lol

But no Zas 🤔

I know nothing about card suits aside from their basis in the Minor Arcana, and yet I'm not picking up anything too interesting about the characters and their card suits aside from the fact that Xianghua is the only female ace and Talim is the only female jack.

Because they don’t want to release too many females on base for whatever
reason

Has the PC version not gone gold?
Correct me if I am wrong, but if a game is announced for Steam, does that not mean that the game's digital only and thus the phrase "going gold" doesn't apply to it...? Sony wh*res like me don't know these things.

Steam currently does not show any files for Soul Calibur 6.

I assume they will have to upload some kind of test build eventually in order to make sure multiplayer and everything work on that platform.

Well there hasnt been any sort of official release of Raphael or Cervantes artwork right? Just the recordings of video. So i dont see how that could be fan-made.
Reply take 2.

I didn't notice this tweet until now which has them in higher quality: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DmavfJDXsAAWR1E.jpg:large

That definitely looks too clean to be based on the photos from the Melbourne event. And the guy who took the photo works for a gaming news/reviews site, so this probably arrived as part of a press kit.

This makes the whole thing about Cervantes and Raphael more baffling. Why doesn't Namco take at least basic precautions to ensure character reveal leaks don't happen? And at this rate, they might as well formally announce the two characters (assuming they have the trailers ready). Unless they want to wait for the characters to leak in even more ways.

They don't have to do that under Soulcalibur's name. The Dota community knows that 'Unknown App 247060' is where they test out major changes to Dota, but you can't find it by searching for Dota.

Big gaming media events aren't for character reveals, they're for feature reveals. Even the Tira reveal was a Season Pass feature reveal that they fucked up the messaging on.

There is no returning character that would be a big enough deal to hold for a games press event. The characters themselves appeal to too niche of an audience. Cause even when we get a reveal it mostly appeals to Soulcalibur fans who play those characters, so it's a subset of a subset of audience. It would be drown out by more important news from other games at the event.
For the sake of argument, if this was true, wouldn't the Libra of Soul mode news have drowned out the Tira reveal? But that day/week that followed was more than anything else, griping about Tira being DLC and trying to figure out how many times you needed to preorder the game to get Tira. Almost literally no one was being vocal about Libra of Soul, which should have been the biggest news.

It doesn't work like that.
It goes like this: controversy/reason_to_complain > big_news > small_news
So they fucked up with Tira's announcement time in more ways than one, because a lot of people barely payed attention to glorious LoS as they had all of their attention focused on Day One DLC being announced before all of the base roster is.

Dunno why no one posted it:

okay but the QUEENS. can't get any more perfect than that.

edit: honestly I think the artwork would've looked amazing on tarot cards. There's more major tarot cards than court cards as well, so they'll be no one left out lol
