Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Is 2B going to be beginner friendly or more technical? I hope she's more technical, not necessarily a bunch of just frames but a more creative management play style.

I can't imagine they'll make 2B too advanced, the guests are supposed to attract some new fans who maybe have never played the series before so they'll want them to be beginner friendly and easy to get a good flow going with.

Should only be physical copies I believe.
I don't know about that, when you take a good look at the other games it feels like it's a total, Like look at Warrior Orochi, that's a lot of sales for that kind of game (I like those Warriors games, but I also know they are totally niche :o)
Even Red Dead Redemption and Call of, those numbers seem like something you would expect from that kind of games... so I don't know, until it says otherwise or someone confirm it is, I'm gonna assume those are total numbers.

Plus it does say: "Rockstar's open world masterpiece came in at 133,000 copies on PlayStation 4, which is a respectable total."

RDR2 is the second fasting selling piece of media in history. SCVI's numbers will never be even close to comparable, and any sources or number that claim so must be questioned.

Nier has a lot of intermediate and up mechanics, so I don’t think they want to make her too simple.

I think a walking dead character makes sense in the realm of Tekken, but having one with a weapon seems a little unfair.

2B's Battle Director Comments

"2B who compete from "NieR: Automata" is an all-rounder that can handle all kinds of warfare, using small sword, large sword, spear, fight fight weapon as well as the original. Her features are that she can cooperate with the attendant support unit "Pod 042" as well as many brilliant original actions, as well as long-range attacks and wavy attacks. It can also be said that you can target a quick rush or aerial combo via special movements such as jumps and dashes after the attack, it is also a strength.

It is particularly recommended for those who are not good at fighting games, as various skills can be rolled out with simple commands such as repeated hitting and long pressing of buttons. Because it carries many new elements which are not found in other characters, please also enjoy the players accustomed to "SCVI" with a fresh feeling!"

Sorry, but she looks to be here for casuals. Seems logic to me.

Then what's the point of the trailer teasing the Ivy tie-in? Seems like there should be something about that. Weird.
I could see that just being something they made for the trailer. It looks like they wanted a slow build-up in the trailer leading up to the 2B reveal rather than having her be revealed at the start.

They can't even afford to give DLC characters new stories?

SFV still has big name VAs like Kyle Hebert and Laura Bailey come back to voice literally a line or two for new DLC character stories.

Keep in mind the extra stage, music and parts because I doubt they would give us that just to be nice. It sounds like they are giving us that instead of story stuff to me. Most likely because thinking of and making a story would be a lot more work than a stage and some CaS parts that are based on something that already exist

Don’t get it twisted I’m not happy about the perverse anime robot chick either.
But I understand she has fans, fans who could and would take an interest in the series after she’s gone.

The walking dead in Tekken is a STUPID, Stupid ploy as the likehood of the two media’s sharing a platform is rarer than rare but her we are.

SC6 is healthy for the most part but it needs to show substance and one of the strongest ways of doing that is on its own merits.
Original characters will, can and should do that for them.

And it’s important more than ever that it’s done.
Don’t give fans the chance at complaining like they’ve done with Tekken 7

I.e
“We want new characters” and we get Lucky Chloe and Gigas and Claudio (kats ok but generic)

“Why doesn’t Tekken ever have guests?” = the walking dead

“Where the hell are the rest of the vets” = Don’t ask me for shit.

I feel your frustration but having a Soulcalibur starting from scratch let’s have everyone at home first.

Exploring new tech with returning characters only for DLC season 2 have completely new ones and more guests.

Treat this like you would a match - strategically

I guess.

I am a bit salty not just because of this 2B issue but a lot of things really. Missing characters, missing CAS parts, RE mechanic. Here are my personal top priorities for characters, in this order:

Algol, Valeria, new moveset for Ashlotte

Yeah, not gonna happen. Of course i mained other characters in SC4, and i do have them playable already so its cool but those three were my dream wishlist. Maybe that is more the reason i have this attitude. Realistically what i want isnt going to show up anyway.

hmm.....I'd be disappointed if 2B didn't get her own Story. :(

will that mean other DLC characters, even returning ones like a Cassandra, won't get their own Stories?
