SoulCalibur VI is breaking prior expectations, however. Kilik and Mi-na, Siegfried and Nightmare, Mitsurugi and Yoshimitsu, etc. are all more different than they've ever been before, and both with their own positives and good traits. Raphael and Amy both coexisting and being good in their own way is going to be pretty exciting to see, should it come to pass.

This wouldn't make any sense in context with the game's story. Don't get your hopes up for disappointment.
 
So no one thinks there's a possibility those names in the files are just a decoy? Didnt they do something like that with Tekken?

Cassandra makes perfect sense but i got to say Amy isnt the best choice. By that i mean not in front of Setsuka or Yun.

And actually i am a bit surprised they're not loading up on guests. Not getting into a debate with anyone on whether they should do that or not, just saying i thought there was a strong possibility it would happen.

Story relevance doesn't mean shit when it comes to DLC choices. The only reason i can think of for this dumb decision is that both Amy and Cassandra have their designs ready and that they're the characters with the most amount of votes in the 2015 fb popularity poll that are not in the game. The poll was great to just have a rough idea but to take it literally is dumb. The worst part is that i don't think we'll get a season 2. Call me pessimistic but that's my personal opinion.

I can't remember any decoys in Tekken 7. References to bowling mode were clear as day in game files before it was announced. References to DLC characters were there as well, but they all used special codenames rather than their real character names.

I'm thinking in the case of SC6 it's a combination of the development team caring less and being a bit naive. Maybe the developer team isn't fully aware there are plenty of talented modders on PC who are capable of snooping through every tiny part of the game.

It's possible, but faced with the evidence that those two characters are the only two who appear in the game with all-new designs, it's very believable. Hwang would make more sense than Yun-seong, but Setsuka doesn't really have much ground to stand on for this timeline of events, though being fair, neither does Cassandra. Amy makes a lot more sense than Cassandra.

I would argue that it does, particularly if the DLC characters also get Soul Chronicle listings. 2B's trailer seems to imply that she will, much Like Geralt had a run-in with Mitsurugi, that 2B will with Ivy, and Tira, though she was kind of a special case, also got a Soul Chronicle, the implication would be that the last two characters will also get a Soul Chronicle. Events from future games that haven't happened yet would clash with the narrative, and would be an important angle to consider. I don't think we'll get a season two, either, so it sucks if one of the future cast's characters were your main, but no one has it worse, in my opinion, than Hwang, who does represent a unique style, fits in this timeline perfectly, and would somewhat also appease Yun-seong players.

Are we for sure of this? I'm not sure by what means the people who hacked 2B to be available were able to do so, but it's very possible that her Soul Chronicle was not implemented by yesterday's update, and would come with tomorrow's when she's officially unlocked. Even still, considering her story from the trailer takes place many millennia into the future, it would make sense that 2B wouldn't have one, being so far off the timeline.

But Cassandra and Amy ARE some of, if not the most popular characters that are missing. If I had to be objective I would pick from Setsu, Hilde and Hwang/Yun for variety but this is by far the most beneficial choice they could make imo

That is just what i meant when i said decoy although it is a little different in this case, they could still use Cass and Amy to hide the real names.

I cant imagine they wouldnt know that. Sure they may have made a mistake and left the data but i mean my god it only took a couple days and im pretty sure i've heard of this before plenty times.
 
So it seems the latest 1.1 Patch on Xbox finally solves the offline "hang up/lag" that I encountered when bringing up the character select portraits in both arcade and Creation.

so......YAY!!

Also, what's this I'm hearing about the love of my life Cassandra??

Not unless they decide to nerf Raph like hell and Amy becomes a top tier once again.

2B is a guest. I'd expect canonical characters to get Chronicles.

I understand the story may be the primary focus with the team but i think there has to be a point where they'll also consider popularity and profits. It cant just be black and white story first all the time. We arent talking about SC5 timeskip levels of nonsense here.

I remember it was said she could be used in every mode by Soul Chronicle.

As for her costume, not sure yet. I would think so. To customize her like promised, you'd have to be able to remove her clothing pieces. It'd be nice to have the extra parts.
 
I mean... yeah ok the game is a sausage fest so i understand the need for women but they should at least prioritize a single Dao user in front of two duplicate weapons. Especially when you consider CAS in the game anyway.

There aren't assets for a Soul Chronicle mode for 2B in the patch.

Based on game files, it looks like her entire outfit is available in CAS mode (I haven't confirmed this in the game though). There's one customization item with a rather funny name: Revealing Women's Clothing. I assume that's the Kaine outfit.

ah, I see. guess we'll find out by tomorrow...….lol.

even if 2B doesn't have a Soul Chronicle, I'd like to think characters like Cass and Amy would at least. since they are part of the current timeline. plus, they already have story mode portraits in the game!!
