Soon... Soon we will get an announcement about Soon™ !
I probably would, but the the more salient point remains: there's very little chance such a thing will ever happen. The next-gen consoles in question are being built on substantially different hardware than the present one, one which Namco software engineers are going to be initially unfamiliar with, which means all of the usual substantial costs of a port, and then some. This is why developers are never in a hurry to be the first ones out of the gate to produce a game on a new platform with increased costs and a lower install base: you really only do it in two circumstances: 1) You have a triple-A title that is itself a platform mover (because in those cases you have some degree of confidence in the number of units you are going to sell and the console manufacturer is probably helping with a sweetheart distribution deal) or 2) you are rolling the dice on some new IP and are willing to put some marketing muscle behind it and hope it catches a consumer wave. Furthermore Namco rarely enters this game, and Project Soul never does: literally, in the entire 23 year history of this franchise, every single last game was dropped either smack in the middle of the then-current generation or at it's tail end.Quick question:
We know they will be porting games from the 8th Gen to the 9th. How would you feel if for PS5/Xbox Scarlett, they released an SCVI "Definitive Edition" with all content built in and enhanced 4K graphicsso you can look at Ivy and Taki's boobs in the utmost detailto make better character models and environments? The idea is to hold the fanbase over until SCVII (hopefully announced in 2021/released in 2022) I feel like it'd refresh the community and capitalize on the low competition of early next-gen, and get extra sales which wouldn't hurt.
Would you double dip?

long ponytail or double buns??Setsuka also tends to have nice hairstyles. I can expect a damaged variant from her as well.
Considering we're getting one per character, we'll probably get the unique character parts plus a small release of about 25-30 parts each time. I would say we will most likely get old costumes for characters who appeared in SCIV or V with some Lost Swords equipment and basic stuff we're missing peppered throughout.Anybody else wonder how big the CaS packs might be if we’re getting one per character?
Where’s our Tiger Lily stuff? We still don’t have enough footwear even if Cassandra’s release helped. I really want the Hip Skirt or Pareo. Viola’s unreleased 2P would also have been convenient. Ninja Masks don’t make very good veils.
Also the Korean swordie will finally give the spiky hair. Setsuka also tends to have nice hairstyles. I can expect a damaged variant from her as well.
Welcome! Other than her style uniqueness and ease of implementation factors, is there any other factors to make you think she's the yellow slot rather than grey? Who do you think is the grey then?Hello everyone! New to 8wayrun. Since the Invitational is coming up, I feel like it’s my last chance to talk about the first character to possibly be revealed at the event. For a long time, I agreed with @DanteSC3 and others that Hwang would be the yellow slot (which I really want ). But, recently, I have been thinking it will be Hilde. Why:
+ Noticeable appearance of Wolfkrone soldiers in story modes/Libra of Soul.
+ Hilde has a unique move-set, popularity, and a recent model/move set. I think the budget for every character is a factor in this choosing. In comparison to Hwang, Hilde may be a much safer/cheaper implementation (especially as Hwang’s move set finalization would be risky: which move set do we choose? What did fans want?)
This post hurt to write lol. I really want Hwang in the game.
Sorry for the long post _ lol
Liar..I mean, I'm personally happy to see any character back.

Hope you stick around.
This is because they're unifying the story, and Wolfkrone soldiers would have been out there fighting against the evil in the original course of history, it's just that Wolfkrone wasn't "created" until SoulCalibur IV, so it's a "retcon" (but not really, because it doesn't change anything in the big picture) that we're seeing them now, just as a setup for future events where we'd actually see Hilde, letting us know they acknowledge her existence, but I still personally don't expect to see her until SoulCalibur VII.+ Noticeable appearance of Wolfkrone soldiers in story modes/Libra of Soul.
Maybe, to some degree, but Cassandra and Amy were so reworked to where they're almost not recognizable to their previous forms, due to their new gimmicks and the general flashiness. I for one would actually hope that Hwang would not get such flamboyancy, because his style is more grounded like Mitsurugi and Sophitia, so I would think it would really require less work overall, unless they just completely lost his animation data from the Arcade Edition of SoulCalibur III. Thanks to FluffyQuack's digging, however, it seems pretty apparent to me that they still have, in-house, every animation that they've ever made, at some place or another.+ Hilde has a unique move-set, popularity, and a recent model/move set. I think the budget for every character is a factor in this choosing. In comparison to Hwang, Hilde may be a much safer/cheaper implementation (especially as Hwang’s move set finalization would be risky: which move set do we choose? What did fans want?)
Hwang's debut weapon is also Blue Storm (or even his follow up, Blue Thunder, relates to storms), so I'm not really sure that works in and of itself. I do lean towards grey being indicative of either Rock or Hilde, though... I really think if they wanted white, they could have made it work with their ideas, or even just chosen a different template. The biggest color association I have with Yun-seong, though, is red, due to his hair color and also red has played heavily into all of his outfits. Of our codenames (Stone, Yell, Star, Snow, Reptile, Yellow, if you're not in the loop on them), Yun-seong fits firmly into "star" for me (due to the "seong" in his name's character meaning "star", while we have a literal "yellow", which is what "Hwang" means, and then we get the color yellow? It's just too much. You namedropped me, so I dunno if you've read the theories on it, it's possible, but I figured I'd cover it just in case.Ok, so, the last slot is grey with Souledge in the background. I think grey was chosen rather than white for this slot due to design issues. White would likely make the thunder effects difficult to see in the image. But, even with this small idea debunked, my idea still stands, I think lol. Yun-Seong pursues Soul-edge (aligning himself with Souledge like the grey slot). But, also, his debut design is mainly white. The slot is grey though, right? But, his debut weapon is the “White Storm”. To me, these coincidences along with his popularity, make me think he is the last slot.
Hilde has some yellow trim on her flag on her primary weapon? That's something. But incredibly minor, all the same. If Hilde is any of the six codenames, I believe she falls into "yell", but that's the most contentious among them at that, the other candidate being Li Long, because of his Bruce Lee-isms. I dunno, it's possible we might see Hilde, but I just really don't think it fits the story, which is what they've been pushing harder than anything else. So, if Yun-Seong is the grey slot, where does Hilde go? I admit, yellow doesn’t relate to Hilde in any way I can think of. But, if Hwang is too risky/expensive to introduce now, I honestly don’t see another choice besides Hilde (in terms of popularity). Some would associate red with Hilde too, but Haohamaru takes this color. So, I think Hilde may have just been given yellow. Still, why yellow?
I really don't believe that the Soul Calibur or Soul Edge in the background have any relevance to anything, personally. My evidence being that neither Hwang nor Setsuka seek Soul Calibur, yet they're quite commonly believed to be yellow and pink. I know that Setsuka does get Soul Calibur in SoulCalibur IV, but I never really understood why she did, unless it was some kind of symbol of her getting over her revenge for Mitsurugi, but it seemed rather forced, because almost everyone in SoulCalibur IV got either Soul Edge, Soul Calibur, or both, and it didn't seem very rooted in reason. Like, for one silly example, Amy got Soul Edge... but why? Because Raphael was seeking Soul Calibur at this point, and it would keep him in check? But Raphael didn't even get his own rapier form of Soul Calibur... I don't think it means anything. Because if it did, for the sake of argument, Setsuka would be more aligned for Soul Edge in our ambiguous chart of swords, as her origin story would be tragic, where she begins her plot for revenge, definitely not an ally of good.
I do appreciate the speculation, though, at the same time, I really do wish they would just reveal them all, at the same time. I'm not sure what there is to gain by keeping us in the dark with no news and keeping everything a mystery.
