Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It grinds my gears how some people are really fast to jump to conclusions and ready to judge everyone without using that jelly blob between their ears.

Sure thing. You believe what you see, and with all those allegations you don't even know what's true or not true, so i'd rather just don't care or think about it and move on, the judges will do their job on this as usual, but sucks to see stuffs like this honestly. But anyway fuck all this kind of stuff.

Those are some pretty serious accusations, and while I don't discredit his experience, the accusation about him voyeuring a pool of boys should be taken with a huge grain of salt. We've all seen that this cancel culture movement is modern day witch hunting, and while there have be those who have been exposed, there have been those who have been targeted because the accusers are attention seeking evil assholes, who never get punished for trying to ruin someone's life. It's more responsible to trust but verify, instead of following the mob of listen and believe.

Thank you for being a voice of reason. At this point lets just hope us fans get what we want from this event and that this is settled and things are cleaned up for next year. We want an announcement for Season 3/DLC at Evo Japan too!

I think we'll get the announcement regardless. If all of EVO is canceled, I'm sure Namco will just release the Alpha Patroklos trailer attached to no event. No way would they delay it for months waiting for a new big event.

I think it's more important that these allegations are looked into than us getting what's looking like a rather lackluster fighting game tournament.

Hasn't Okubo said on twitter that they've technically already done so due to "losing the announcement chances because of all the offline events that have been cancelled"? I kinda wouldn't hold it past them to do it again. Remember, this is Namco we're talking about here, who decided that dlc announcements for SC6 needed to happen after TEKKEN 7's grand finals instead the SC6's own (and other, even dumber marketing decisions to follow).

Honestly, I would think it'd be kinda stupid to cancel these EVO events just because of allegations of WHAT ONE PERSON MIGHT'VE DONE (how about just have that person not show presence at the events instead?).

I found the wording for that tweet to be a bit ambiguous. It's hard to tell if they meant they had to change their announcements plans (as in, they can't fly Okubo to EVO to reveal it on stage as last year), or if it was supposed to be revealed already. I personally think Alpha Patroklos was always supposed to be announced at EVO. It matches up with what they've been doing so far. For instance, Amy was EVO Japan and then Cassandra was EVO.

You're right the marketing team is mindboggling, but I have a hard time seeing they'll want to sit on finished content when they could release it and earn money on it.

Well I don't know about you guys, but this year has been the most bat shit insane year I've had in my entire life, and we're only seven months into it. Finally got Brexit after three and a half years of the UK establishment trying to overturn it, Covid paralyzes the world, Marxist attempted coup of the western world, a developing proxy war between the UK with China, Italy and the UK have the biggest bust of drugs ever recorded and now Evo is in nuclear meltdown with it's head honcho. Fuck knows what other mad shit is around the corner, I don't think I can get any more shocked at this point as the world continues to be utter fucking fire. I feel like I'm going to burst out laughing like the Joker just to remain sane.

We will be waiting until 2021 for Setsuka at this rate....

Namco & other companies could release trailers of DLC when the DLC is ready to go. I remember when NRS said to their community to come to Combo Breaker 2020 before COVID-19 cancelled it. NRS announced MK11: Aftermath in early May instead. Announcements at tournaments are just ways hype up everyone when it over.

As expected with Capcom & NRS pulling out. Isn't Skullgirls doomed anyway.

It reads "You can't hide the shock from the moment..."
