does soul calibur shield in SCV usually have that white glowing orb in the middle?
Those models are actually based on Sophitia's ultimate weapon (Soul Edge) and Cassandra's (Soulcalibur) from SCIV, although Pyrrha Omega does use the same basic model as her default version of Soul Edge in V, and Patroklos does get a similar version of Soulcalibur (sans shield) in the story campaign. Actually, technically that sword and shield version of Soulcalibur is also available to Sophitia in Soulcalibur III and used by Elysium in Soulcalibur V when she is battling with Pyrrha or Pyrrha Omega's fighting style, but the first time it appears with basically the model used in the mod above is in SCIV, I believe. Likewise, both Sophitia and Cassandra have a similar (but not identical) version of Soul Edge available to them as early as SCII, with a model that does have an eye, but otherwise has a number of aesthetic differences from the model used later.

In any event, the answer to your question is both yes and no--Cassandra's version of Soulcalibur does have a little gem-like nodule in that place, but it is not as bright/translucent/diamond-like as it is in that modded version: it is closer to the standard gossamer bluish-grey of the rest of the weapon.

so i was thinking instead of doing full new costumes they could make art of characters in cas clothing and that will sort of make the clothing a 2P.

like for these new awesome panels in Tekken 7, I never considered those customization outfits "official" outfits but the panels have made them so for me. A great way for them to economically make 2Ps

Seems more likely to be a bug, since there is no mention of such exclusionary rules in the patch notes, such as system would run somewhat counter to the very point of this new mechanic (you'd get ranked higher with characters you don't use than with those you do), and all of the more neglected characters on my "ranked match data" sheet ranked up uniformly at D5 (or rather after the patch, since my highest character was already in D), if I recall correctly. If you two are having these aberrations, they are probably just working out the kinks. I'm still a ways off from C and not playing very much at all right now, so it will be a little while before I watch the system in action when I hit C5.

It’s definitely intentional I stated earlier that my E2 taki and E3 Kilik and Geralt stayed the same and everyone else got bumped up to E1

Even characters you don’t use after a certain amount of time in ranked get boosted too, as I was F4 with Mitsu, Mina and Xianghua but they’ve been boosted to E1.

Which is kinda dumb, characters that you’ve bothered to rank more than 4 levels should stay as they are like in Tekken 7

To be completely fair to both Sophitia and Cassandra, while some of their "butt" moves may embrace the over-the-top Soulcalibur aesthetic (Cassandra's SCIV critical finish being a pretty obvious example), the vast majority of these moves are actually variations on the hip-check, a highly effective and pragmatic manuever that has been used in close-quarters fighting since as long as long as people have been beating on eachother. You'll learn some version of this in any pragmatic martial art that features any emphasis on throws and leverage and it's particularly prominent in modern military combatives training (for example, the U.S. marine MCMAPS system).

Now, as is par for the course in Soulcal, the physics of what happens to a body after it receives contact from such a move are all off: usually the idea with a well-executed hip check is that it tips the opponent's weight a little over your own center of gravity (because usually the hip check is the first step in a hip throw, and even if not, it's main advantage is to throw the opponent off balance) rather than ejecting them them outward--but then, let's face it, minus a few of Talim's locks, pretty much every Soulcalibur move ends with a level of force that makes you feel like these people must be fighting in the Matrix. Still, for most of these moves (particularly the vast majority of Cassandra's in SCII-SCIV), they are, when grading on the Soulcalibur curve for realism, actually some of the more practical moves in the game's repertoire. Hip checks, not "butt fighting".

Yes, to be fair, if we look at the image that Klimat supplied in particular, Sophie does seem to be outputting the force through the back of her butt, which you would only really want to do if you were executing something like a tsurikomi goshi (that is, throwing someone more or less directly over your center of gravity), where you want as much leverage as possible; otherwise, if the objective were just to knock the person backwards/down/off balance, you are better off using the side of your hip/butt, since it is quicker, allows you to generate more force, leaves you less exposed to a strike/vulnerable to a reversal (which could actually end in a painful and disabling suplex), and allows you to switch into a wider array of throws and countermeasures if you do end up grappling and your opponent is wily and quick enough to try to compensate with their own weight dispersal. This is essentially how Cassandra approaches her hip checks with her 4KK in SCII-IV (I think the move is actually called 'rushing hip bash' or something like that), striking low to bring her opponent's leading knee down and then hip checking them (using more of the side of her hip) while they are already off balance. That's actually a pretty realistic maneuver (again, grading for the Soulcalibur curve).

Actually, Cassie's entire classic repertoire is largely like that: she fights in a manner that would be much more brutally effective in the real world than would most of the other characters: she makes quick, dirty strikes to the same kinds of exposed/vulnerable areas empahsized in real world self-defense techniques (the eyes/face, the toes, the gut, and crotch) and then follows up with either deeper strikes or by throwing her weight into the reeling opponent. I'd argue she is actually by far the most no-nonsense fighter in the series (if you don't take into account the fact that you can put an axe or sword through someone's head and they can just shake it off in this universe).

Yeah, I think jouissif is really exactly the way to put it: it may sound just a tiny bit sociopathic, but in terms of the rhythm and feel of the simulated violence of a fighting game, there is just something gripping about how she punctuates a string by smashing her shield against someone's teeth, bashing her sword hilt and shield into the ears and temples, stabbing at the toes, kneeing someone in the groin, or striking directly at the gut. The fantasy violence in Soulcalibur is at such an over-the-top level, with characters who clearly heal faster than Wolverine, that it's pretty easy to get completely desensitized to all of it. But there's something grounded and realistic about Cassandra's insistence on using techniques that would be considered brutally direct in the real world (even though in Soulcalibur universe, there is no such thing as a real "weak point", since anyone can easily survive a twelve-inch wide sword going through their brain, heart, or any other vital organ and barely lose pace) that still somehow manages to cut through that noise and make you just go "OUCH!"

It's the difference between watching Ironman and Thanos duke it out in a marvel film and then watching a well-done fight in a medieval drama where someone gets their fingers chopped off by an axe in a melee: no matter how "big" the super hero fight is, it doesn't get you on the same visceral level, unless you're someone whose entire understanding of actual violence comes exclusively from one kind of fiction or another. Cassandra, for me anyway, manages to somehow live in that silly over-the-top Soulcalibur world with its high fantasy action while still keeping her strikes feeling like attacks that seem genuinely damaging. I mean, you can almost imagine her as a young pupil watching her sister twirl like a tornado ten feet into the air with a never-ending roundhouse and say "Yeah, I mean that's cool and all, Marvel vs. Capcom, but I think I'm just going to focus on stabbing them in the throat and bashing them in the junk--I've discovered those moves have really high success rates."

why would you want a version of the game that will have to have severely downgraded graphics when you already own it on a superior system anyway
To easily play a few rounds after work with friends at the bar. I love my gaming PCs, but even my gaming laptop can be unwieldy in some situations.

Decided to get the platinum trophy!

It was easier than i expected. I didn't really like LoS in the beginning, but now i think it's alright and i especially appreciate all the work & effort put into it.

I have mixed feelings about the whole Cassandra reveal at E3. It does seem like the most realistic option, but using the biggest gaming event of the year to announce a single character seems like a waste. Especially when you compare it to announcing a second season on the main stage. Now that would be bloody fantastic.

I guess they'll save up the second season announcement for EVO in August. I wouldn't mind as long as we get the first character, preferably Setsuka, released in the same day.

That is impressive. I am like eighty percent done and I am thinking about giving LoS another shot. It does have some interesting moments and Plata is best girl.

Also, I want Cassandra to be revealed as soon as possible and I feel like waiting that long to be ridiculous. Hopefully plans for a second season will be announced alongside the Grecian beauty.
