Maxi Video Thread

You thought that match was... good?

That player thinks outside the box. Or learned from someone who thinks outside the box...
He wins points for that. Sadly, his tricks didn't work, but at least he tried, which makes the video interesting.

Failed trick attempts are more constructive and entertaining than someone who keeps it simple against people with zero Maxi knowledge.

And the Zas player greatly improved the quality of the match.
After all, it's a video of a match between Maxi AND Zasalamel.

Damn.

If only the Maxi player finished his B+K BBBA at 2:03, he would have won the round.

Good vid.

He needs to learn Anti-Zas. (I say that in a sarcastic tone in light of the recent Maxi hate train.)

You should understand by now that nobody looking to place will ever do that in a tournament. Experimentation's great for session play, but tournament play results in players going for their high percentage, low risk stuff in general.

So to you, Gimmicks > Solid. Too boring for you.

*claps*

I'm sorry that I prefer this vid over the 3 vids of you beating on people with no Maxi knowledge.
Maybe because I can do just as well as you, when I fight against people with no Maxi knowledge.
So I felt that it was unworthy of a video in these three cases.

Will you ever forgive me for having my own opinions?
I like to watch interesting stuff. I don't care who wins, I prefer to watch something worth watching, rather than KDZ, a "pro", who beats on people that even I would beat easily.
The ones against Hilde were better, but I didn't comment on those, so I assume that we're only talking about the other ones.

When the different tactics have been practised several times and proven useful, it's no longer experimentation. It's different and it's all there is to it.
It doesn't have to succeed to be useful. Or else, you might as well say that Mitsurugi is Talim Tier because all his 50/50 bullshit can be guessed out/lucked out.

And it's not because it's a different way to play that it's necessarily wrong.

to be frank i would rather watch KDZ, for starters the shit he did actully won, some of it should have been blocked but oh well it wasnt. he did a few cancels and soul loops enough to entertain and not eat CHs and simple shit he doesnt play a loop heavey game he plays a nice mind game mix up game, whats up with that, do you have to be loop heavey to be a good maxi, there are places where moves can be punished but wern't big deal.

The other vid i saw a few mistakes and stuff that was retarded, missing the JF K and doing a standing kick. O.o thats simple shit yeah expect to miss it sometimes online but in a vid O.o i would have just stoped filming there. there was a couple of sweet impacts but he kept doing the same fail shit 4BK ducked and punished.

Im sorry, that doesnt make sense to me. Im not gonna use ANYTHING that is NOT successful to me. Nor do I think anyone will. Maybe I just dont understand what you were saying. I read that post several times and still scratchin my head in confusion.

I dont get your way of thinking plume. Fancy worthless gimmicks (such as in that zas vs maxi video) are "interesting" to you, but a win that required "what was needed only" is boring to you. I think that original video against sets & ivy was just as interesting. Its interesting to know that players have been neglecting to get "anti-maxi" strats in there and the result is a loss for them.

dont be one of those people that say "I couldve beatin that guy". your better than that plume. as a result of KDZ's wins with maxi, the pros are scramblin to get those maxi strats down. Do you know how many invites to games Ive gotten over the last week from people that dont usually, a ton. Im flattered that they want to use me to help. quit being so negative holmes.

A trick might not succeed in this vid. But against other people it might succeed.
Maybe it failed because the opponent was lucky.

(MOST IMPORTANTLY)
And even if it doesn't work, it gives you a mixup opportunity. Next time, will you use that trick again, or will you do something else?

Also, I'd like to point at 236B used when Zasalamel did 1A,B.

I liked that. Again, it failed... But it was bad luck, he happened to be a little too far. Normally it's a punisher that works against Zasalamel's 1A,B.

There are two negatives to it, though...
If you're too close, tech jump won't work...
If you're too far, well, you're too far. And apparently he was. :|
But it's more fun to WATCH than just someone who blocks low... and blocks low again.

Or maybe my opinion just differs from everyone else's...

ok that clears it up (i guess). But come on plume, your better than the rest of these negative vibe throwin bastards. I think your looking at it all wrong. If you were to play me at a tourney and i was ignorant to maxi and you were beating me with simple 4bk strings, would you come out with your other more fancier tricks? knowing that you still have your future competition watching you! Come on man you can seriously think like that. Until you are KDZ's shoes I say you have no argument. Being that you dont know the situation, nor the atmosphere etc. there are to many factors that nobody knows but KDZ and the people that were there.

When I watch a video, I'm a spectator.
I want to be surprised, impressed. I want to see something new, or something that makes me want to improve my game.

There's nothing special about 3 people who get beaten by basic Maxi stuff.
I just said that I could do the same because it's what I do whenever I play online in Ranked...
There was nothing special.

I don't know why I still seem to sound like I'm trying to say that I'm better...

Edit: More related to what I quoted, I don't know if I would use fancier tricks or not.
But if I chose not to, then I wouldn't expect people to get impressed by the videos of my matches.

Looks like some chinese players? Its a match up between Sophie and Maxi. Its nice to compare this with Johnny Blaze's maxi/sophie matchup that he posted earlier. Obviously Johnny was playing better, but its nice to have this video for comparison. One of the major things I see is what johnny's been saying forever: Maxi's kicks are an integral part of his game.

that vid is not to my taste, manly cos of the sea sickness it causes but also cos i dont think that maxi was that good. there was a couple of nice moments but at the same time a lot of tat, to many missed throw attemps (i personally dont throw enough i know that but i would rather not throw and have to work harder for some damage than stand there with several bad throw attemps. (i normaly try them when i have already trained a player to the attack pattern (one of my current faves aK_ROK ~ LOA throw attempt))) and in general i didnt find to much inspired playing in that vid.

Adding another Korean vid here:

same Zas player as the last vid ( kura i think ), different maxi ( and looks like a better one to me, but he still misses some basic stuff )
