Namco Reveals Nightmare, Raphael and Leixia!

Okay, so technically, we all knew these characters were coming... Nightmare was leaked by Daishi several months ago on his Twitter, Leixia was soft-announced at this year's EVO, and Raphael was pseudo-revealed through some clever detective work dealing with the resumés of musicians.

I myself got a chance to play these characters and more at the closed-door press conference earlier in the week and I will give some short impressions about them, and the game in general tomorrow. There are many more announcements coming during the next few weeks, so keep paying attention!

Did anyone notice Raph's Left hand?
No fingers.......hmmm..

So Raph is no longer a fencer, he just uses a really long wrist blade (katar)

Hmm, that might be a very peculiar kind of grip...or they've done away with his fingers. So he could have an altered style now? I suppose that might warrant his position in the 'newcomers' row.

That "newcomers row" is just speculation, I don't see any reason why they would do away with his hand.

Well it's actually the art. Because of the artist going for perpective appeal the fingers are behind the hand guard. Thus looks like he has no fingers. It's a common perspective mistake.

Nighty's new Soul Edge looks like straight from hell. I like. Very... fleshy.

Leixia looks much like her mom. I guess Xianghua mainers will be happy?

Don't care about Raph much.

Stages look awesome, one even has a squirrel or maki or something like that in it.
I also saw a triangular stage, which makes me hope SCV will be more various in Stage layout/form than SCIV.
I like asian stages most, i hope there will be a japanese stage in addition to the chinese stage, which looks great already.

I'd prefer the return of a more b.a. Nightterror, rather then a boss mash up with an existing character.

Well Nightmare is a demonic flesh, so it's only natural the the flesh will need to fill the armor in order for it to move soo... yeah! :)

The style is still a zweihänder style.

If SE has a new host, wouldn't it just take the form/style or whomever it's possessing?
Unless the host this time uses that style...

On a more serious note, the stages look gorgeous. L is cute, R is D, Nighty is Nighty.

 

You see what Nightmare is doing? It's called a weapon demonstration. I notice those moves anywhere.

Hurray for weapon demonstrations.

 

I wonder what these other announcements could be. Was keeping a close on eye on that live blog and IIRC something was mentioned about the SCV Collector's Edition coming with two DLC chars? Well, patience is a virtue.
