Soul Calibur 6 CaS Discussion

I didn't know this but Lost Swords had actually a bunch of costumes either exclusive to it or from past games, I don't think the ones made by guest artists will come back and I'm sure at least in part some of V's will come back in the costume packs as DLC, but I wonder what will come back from that game.

True. I wish someone had archived as much as they could before the game went kaput. I might have, but I found myself unable to stomach the game's general BS.

I’m not sure if the CaS options they showed off would disallow this, but I’d love it if they implemented custom auras to be used in CaS. Tekken has always had custom auras in usable in customization, so I think it’s odd that SC of all games doesn’t have it.

You know what i would like to see? Gear with effects. For example there is always an annoying knight helm with a lifted visor. Who the hell would use that? Now.... if said visor were only up during the intro and victory scenes before and after a match, it would then become a wonderful piece of equipment.

I remember Dark Souls 2 had an interesting set that supposedly became transparent when "worn by cowards". Of course it didnt actually work like that. There were just two sets of the same equipment. One was see-through and the other wasn't but it is an interesting concept if the dev team can pull something like that off. Like maybe depending on what you do during the match or on meter or whatever it fades in and out of transparency.

Well, if memory serves, Hilde's visor in SoulCalibur IV did that. It wasn't down all the time, but it had some kind of weird physics added to it and it could be up or down. And about the Aurous Set in Dark Souls II, it's kind of true, though, as it takes a coward's approach to obtain the invisible set, while getting the real set actually takes challenging a worthy foe, proving your bravery.

we still don't know how the sharing even works

you may not have a way to share without being friends so it might be kinda useless unless you don't mind adding friends every time someone wants your CaS...

if they had a downloader like the WWE games it would actually be useful
I've been saying the same thing.

What's "post dem sliders"? 🤔
Because of the intricacies involved in placing stickers, patterns, motifs, custom equipment, body proportions, and anything else, it's not as simple as just showing a screenshot of your custom character if you're looking to share it so that someone else can have an exact copy of what it is that you've created.

Ahhh! Thanks, I understand now. It's basically what I do when it comes to call of duty emblem videos on YT. :D

I was thinking, what are soul charges going to be like? Will we just be stuck with a generic blue/yellow, whatever design the character has, or will we get a choice of the three designs? I hope we get a choice of the three. It'd give us the choice to make our CaS just that bit more unique.

Well, we could change weapon trails color in SoulCalibur V, so it wouldn't be impossible that we could change Soul Charge aura color in SoulCalibur VI.

I think the more interesting question is if we'll get anything akin to Kilik's long hair, Grøh's/Azwel's self-armor break, or Taki's emblems.

I hope that Project Soul lets us choose the soul charge state color, but I think it might be just out of scope if they're converting the SC5 CaS system.

Does anyone know what battle comments mean

It's only been speculated upon, but I believe the two schools of debate are that it is either

A. A means to pick your character's specific intro/win quotes and other related fight chatter.
B. Text that goes on your character's card.

Of course, both could be wrong. For whatever reason, they haven't shown it off in any of the trailers.

Battle comments historically on things like arcade cards or profiles in arcades/consoles are simply messages you put on said profile for a variety of reasons.

My money is that it's the message you'll be able to put on the CaS for downloads n' stuff like that. Especially if it's per CaS.

Could be wrong entirely but that's my 2 cents.

Namco is holding a poll for a "community-made" character. Also, the poll reveals all of the races' names! They are:
  • Human
  • Outcast
  • Lost Soul (Winged)
  • Lizardman
  • Mummy
  • Automaton
  • Shapeshifter
  • Colossus
  • Malfested (Fully Transformed)
  • Malfested (Mutated)
  • Malfested
  • Revenant
  • Darksider
  • Lost Soul (Horned)
  • Malefic
  • Hidden Village Clan
Curious what some of these are and if there's some lore on some of them I missed or if they are new editions to the lore. Like what is a malefic for example?

I'm going to say that malefic are those that are either affected by the evil seed, to the point they become monsters, kind of like a worse version of what happened to Aeon. There is a lot of lore saying that people transformed into unrecognisable creatures, so I'm assuming this is one of the worse cases of evil seed. I can't say I've ever read anything about lost souls, not outcasts. I'm assuming most of these are at least related in some way to the evil seed and foul magic in some way, though the outcasts seem a bit too cute to really be born if evil seed, while the elves make at least a bit of sense due to scherazade, Ashlotte explains automatons because she's canon now (woop), I'm assuming darksiders are super-malfested or something from nmares army.

Just on another note, it sounds like the races will have height scaled to their race. The 'colossus' seems a bit of a dumb name of it's not at least as big as astaroth.

Looks like lizardman is winning... ugh, why... there are so many more interesting options there.
