Soul Calibur 6 CaS Discussion

I'm mainly upset about the fact that they removed so many of the unique equipment pieces in the game, especially the ones that weren't super generalized and plain and actually had levels of detail on par with the main cast. While I do welcome the abundance of parts that 1P costumes as well as the surprising degree to which they can be mixed and matched (albeit without some arbitrary limitations that are universal in this iteration of the game), I can only make so many characters and costumes before I'm overlapping pieces.

I made a costume for Ivy, i don't know why i like it so much while i tried things like this in SC5 but didn't like them as much, i guess maybe it's because there's clothes animations that make things looks more smoother and beautiful

My first intention was to try make SC1 2P but i ended taking more freedom and with something that i like even more, She's so classy OMG no matter what she wears ABSOLUTE QUEEN BEAUTY 😍😍😍 This costume is to refer her as the aristocracy beauty alchemist woman that she is :D

And my made costume for Badass MITSU (while i still didn't even trained with him yet at all Kappa :nojoke: )

He also has a dope Dragon Tatoo in his body, but you'll need to break his armor/clothes to see it Kappa

Don't know if it's possible with what it's in the game now tho but next i'd like to try next Sieg SC3 2P and Kilik's SC2 1P.

That is pretty cool, i've made a few Ivys myself one of them wears parts of Groh's outfit like yours. Right now the major issue i have is a lack of heeled boots... she needs that. Her standard outfit is completely attached to the boots and you can put almost nothing on top of it. :(

I've started playing with cas yesterday with some character ideas that I had along the week. I have to say that there is some people with real talent to do this, because there was a lot of beautiful characters created already in the game, and for me CAS seemed with so little options.

I made my first character yesterday, but was really missing a good upper body armor for female characters... Tried to mess with some custom objectos to make it look like an armor, but I was no succeful. For later characters I will try to improve my creations!

@Farbanks
Not bad! But she’d probably benefit from DLC if you want more accuracy.

Here’s my latest OC.

Maelys, Righteous Heir
View attachment 52646

Age: 21
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 117 lb
Occupation: Nun. In truth, Princess of Navarre.
Allegiance: Kingdom of Navarre
Arcana: III - The Empress
Theme: Fortune Favors the Brave

The only child of the Navarrean king, Maelys has been sent away by her father at a young age to protect her from would-be enemies of the realm.
Fate would bring her face to face with the man who killed her father she never knew, yet he seeks to put her in power. Perhaps it's his atonement for putting a nation in chaos. Regardless, she is the key to his new order. A kind soul, yet she is naive in the ways of power. Maelys doubts her heritage as the daughter of a man whose actions were against the Order she was once faithful to, yet she lacks the pride of those who serve the Eleven. The seven who have orchestrated the evils she despises. Thus, she dedicates herself to reclaiming her country not as a usual tyrant, but as the benevolent ruler long dreamt of by many.

Notes: Maelys was someone I was worried about designing in VI because of the limitations on items. And she's the longest-lasting OC I had with the least amount of changes too, so of course I'd have a special attachment to her.

I couldn't decide whether to give her the Breastplate or Menghu Cuirass to go over the Long Sleeved Dress. Part of this reason was because the armor clipped through her cape. For this reason, I gave her the Seong Wrap for her sleeves even though it'd show some leg... or would it? That's when I had to really teach myself how to use stickers. Her leggings actually consist of the Seong Sarong combined with some stickers that conveniently cover her legs. It took lots of trial and error to get them to work. There was even a topic on GameFAQs about the difficulties of creating a female knight-type of character with the removal of certain equipment. Still, the limitations force you to be creative and improve your CaS game.

I also would like to credit @VILARCANE for his hack with the Blacksmith Googles to function as a circlet. Hopefully at least the Bong-Seong Circlet and Honor Boots can be DLC.

And Sophie suits her very well. The CE actually inspired me to make her magical affinity be lightning. In my plans for the RPG Maker version, it is she and not XIII who has the gameplay style of a typical RPG hero. Shame Cervantes forces XIII to have gun attacks, but I'm thinking he'd get some fire spells, but I don't see how fireballs can break knees...

@SpellcraftQuill Ty!
There is nothing yet about the new dlc cas parts!? Hopefully it can have some armor parts for female better then the actual ones, because I found the female armors in the game way to big for most of my intended characters... And found too difficult to make one with another custom itens.

Btw, it's nice to see you guys creating your characters with some lore into it... After creating some game and anime characters that I like, probably I will start some of my own.

@SpellcraftQuill Thanks

@acefrost Who were you playing? The replay may still be there XD

Didn't you posted Zas and Ivy costumes here already? i think seen them looks cool, i'm actually trying to find something cool for Zas with no hoodie in the vibe of his SC4. (not saying i don't like him with Hoodie.

I just did this one for ivy costume, a Victorian outfit for her (Or you can also interpret it as Bloodborne Hunter Ivy too)

Very fast made costume (so i may edit it a bit later), i need to take closer look at outfits of that era i may see things that i'd like to edit more

Yeah, i've only posted one Ivy outfit and i've since adjusted that. I'll post the rest of them sometime this weekend whenever i get time.

Only made one Zas so far. I have a feeling recoloring Azwel's outfit might look very Zas but i haven't tried it yet. Hopefully i can get around to that as well. Conversely i'll bet Zas' outfit works for Azwel.

One thing I've noticed is that nearly all CaS characters the community produces have highly saturated colour palettes which prevents them blending in with the main cast. They look like cartoon characters compared to the semi realistic tone the main cast have.

With mine I always get a kick out of using desaturated colours for the most part with only certain details highly saturated. I feel this gives them a much more gritty look and they blend in with the main cast more.

To be fair, the color selection is kind of limited. You can't do very desaturated mid or dark colors, only light ones. The darkest red at 0 saturation is still a fair bit more colorful and brighter than the black just above it.

I couldn't agree more. It makes them look more detailed when you do it like that.

I also like to make sure their photos are thematic-and-color appropriate.

I've been dabbling with CAS for a few days and while I was able to create a few personal satisfying characters, I can't lie. It sucks that the amount of clothing feels so limited right now. I've used the same item like three times already and I just miss certain pieces like for the men, Zwei's 2-player, Cervantes' 2-player top, and for the ladies, the Engineer boots (which technically was unisex), the dancer hip wrap, and Pyrrha's 1-player top & skirt.

I seriously hope that they will actually go through with DLC and give us more CAS items. Don't get me wrong, some of the new things we got are quite nice and I even came around to liking Groh's outfit when broken up (mainly the boots and for his jacket, I'm just glad they gave an option where it has both sleeves) butit would be so cool to mix these newer items with some previous items we had in SCV and even SCIV.

There's money to be made here with DLC. The game from what I understand is already near perfect with its gameplay and unless they bring in more DLC characters, they're pretty much in the clear as far as gameplay is concerned so why not tackle more into some more easy casual content like character creation pieces. I'm more than sure that there will plenty of us who would not mind buying them though if they do give us DLC, I just hope they give us everything unlike SCV where we didn't end up getting the remaining items like Viola's 2P, Misturugi's 1P/2P, Raphael's 1P, & Edge Master's 1P for example.

But that's just my 2 cents anyway.

Yeah exactly. The detail shows much more with less bold colours and the characters look awesome. The amount of times I've seen really well made characters with the one problem being all the colours are in the top saturation range making the character look like a plastic toy. I guess I'm a little ocd about it though lol
