12:37pm : gameplay demo with Mitsurugi and Siegfried. Match takes place on Zwei's new "boundless" stage which has no ring outs or walls. The game looks much faster paced than its predecessors.

For some reason, I can see Kilik coming back even without Xianghua. But if not, I don't know. For some reason I don't think they'll continue his style... Or maybe it's just wishful thinking that they'll actually be making a few other new styles, lol

Patroclus already has his own style. K, he might get one or two familiar moves but he's overall new. But, I cannot be that sure, I need to see more lol.
On the other hand Pyrrha has a fighting style similar to Soph and Cass and later might get some more new stuff but overall she'll be closer to those two...

This game seriously looks awesome. Most promising looking Soulcalibur game since SC2 (heh) and actually looks faster. I like the meter implementation (though I dislike meters, generally) and I like the idea of Just Defend. The more elements borrowed from 2D Fighters, the better IMO.

I notice the animation from Natsu critical edge move was just the same air throw Taki had in SC4, just didn't have ground bombs to teleport... So does this mean Natsu wont have Taki's air throw? Or Natsu's critical edge might be her new way to combo into the air throw.

I'm pretty disappointed with the way they played in the video. Nothing but BB's and messing around. I understand that they were just trying to show off the mechanics, but this is EVO - a place where competitive players gather, Project Soul must have some players who can play at high level and master these characters to demonstrate the game at high level competitive play.
1. The game is very early. Getting serious on it might be buggy.
2. Evo's audience this year was probably less than 5% SC-aware.
3. Believe it or not Odashima and FUG are amazing players. Kageh (Haro) and I had epic wars with FUG prior to his winning Nats.

I won't say the demo was perfect or even close, but it is a massive step in the right direction.

I thought it was pretty awesome that Odashima started spamming 2KB with Mitsu in the last round. I'd love to see the hatemail he'd get from SC4Online.
