Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

My 3 least favourite things about the game thus far, ranked:

3. No Cassandra
2. How busted Inferno is on Legendary Arcade
1. How Mina's face looks like a rubber duck when she says "How about training at Seong Dojang?"

So basic word of mouth seems to suggest that Soul Calibur 6 is selling well and the spread of new videos and online play seems fairly robust on the console side - which is good. I doubt many players often pick up fighters on PC given the nature of controllers required to play the games.

As for online play and ranking, it's not clear yet, but a lot of players are pointing out similar reports from back in beta. Nightmare seems dominating and the game seems very spammy and very laggy. Overall, it seems most players are point out the tiers as they were before back in beta, but it seems the questions about whether Tira was top tier have be more muted now. Same with Voldo and Talim.

Aside from Nightmare, it sounds like Sophitia, Ivy, and Seong Mina have been getting a lot of attention. I've heard a few mentions of Yoshimitsu and Zas, but all in all it seems a lot more blurred and no one is quite sure what to think right now.

There does seem to be some unanimous disappointment over some characters; Taki and Azwel seem to be getting the most of it. The biggest issues I'm hearing from Taki seem to be her speed, damage and generally unsafe. While Azwel seems a lot more nuanced and complex. Players seem to point out that Azwel's damage is rather low and his speed is pretty slow. His first CE doesn't compare to the rest of the cast's damage when it comes to CE damage and his lack of kicks hurts him. Others point out that he's pretty complex and no one has really quite gotten him yet. It sounds like neither Groh nor Azwel have achieved the kind of popularity new characters in the past have gotten (see: Hilde, Viola and ZWEI).

A lot of players have been complaining quite a bit about trash talking, and cheese strategies and lag. A common view of some videos (and my own experiences) shows that a lot of players don't understand the basics are tend to rely a lot on forward-based commands and neutral chains. Others seem to heavily spam one move or series of moves and even others are complaining about RE spam. There are a number of players wondering why CAS is allowed on ranked play and there's been some complaints or sightings of players using CAS and editing them to hide weapons using CAS objects.

Players seem pretty happy that their favorite mains got a lot of buffs or feel really strong. The amount of praising I've heard seems to especially come from Seong Mina and Maxi. Astaroth, Talim, Zasalamel, Raphael, and Yoshimitsu also seem to be getting a lot of praise.

You can't really blame us Mi-Na players for praising Namco. I mean, she's ACTUALLY great in this game unlike SCIV l0l

Anyone know how to unlock Raphael's last chapter in Soul Chronicles?
I would also like to know this.
Libra of Soul unlocks extras to the timeline
Yes but where in it? I can't see any other encounters after having encountered the relevant characters already.
You have to have interacted with Raphael throughout Libra of Soul, I think there's four interactions total, the last one being in the postgame. He will ask for your help, and you have to agree to get him the other two pages of Azwel's research. You get those from other quests, but sorry I don't know which ones specifically, since I did all the quests. They might even be automatic, no idea. You have all three pages, turn in the quest with Raphael and it will unlock, assuming you've already gotten Raphael's first Soul Chronicle ending.

I thought it was so disheartening that putting Grøh into CaS has him scowling by default. This is so much better:

Are there any other characters involved in any of the missions for the pages or anything? I skipped most of the side content until I beat the main story. I encountered Amy afterward and she took me to Raphael, he asked for my help, and I accepted, but I don't know where to go next.

Like I said, I'm not completely sure. What I'd say you should do is go to the Museum mode and check Library -> Literature, and see if you have all three Ultimate Seed Field Test Notes, since that's what the quest is looking for. If you don't, then do available quests, especially ones that seem to do with Aval Organization or Fygul Cestemus, seems like they would be there if anywhere. If you do have all three, then make sure you have done Raphael's Soul Chronicle all the way to the first ending complete, which you may have already, since you're asking about it, but I had someone who hadn't done that and they did then it popped. That's as much as I know.

I'll try that, thanks for the help!

EDIT : For reference, to anyone still wondering, the questline you need appears to be "Legacy of the Chosen". Or at least that's one of them.

I am only meeting Gr0h and Nightmare
Sometimes few Xianghua. and mitsurugi

Ivy was used first day but i didn t meet any recently.

I still think the most budget cuts went to balancing and testing….pusback+ range of some characters is ridiculous.

I think we are getting the second character and a armor pack at the same time cause on the ps store it says character (A) and armor pack (A) and then you have character (B) and armor pack (B) and the last character (C)

It’s in dutch but you know what I mean lol
Whilst that would be nice, it could also simply be using "A/B/C" to denote the singular iterations of each thing, instead of "1/2/3", and thusly also not mean anything.

Gonna go glass half-empty on this one.
