Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Where are you getting these percentages?
From the crazy little brain in my head. 😁
I've realized SC6 got rid of a lot of stats. No more win to loss percentages or how long you've spent playing the game. I have two thoughts on this, really:

On one hand, I like the idea of keeping track of my play time and how often I played a certain mode. I'm one of those people, who like stats. I liked being showed how many ringouts or critical attacks I've done in the whole game. Right now, we just have our player cards, titles, win count, and main character indicator.

On the other hand, I feel like the majority of the toxic behavior we've seen in SCV's online came from an obsession with numbers. Some players obsessed BADLY over high win percentages in SCV. It caused a ton of online players to ragequit to keep high percentage numbers and win counts. And tbh, there are feelings of guilt to know that you spent over 999:99:99 hours online...

I'm of this sort of players who are paralyzed by stats. Absence of precise stats and having nothing to lose at the bottom of the ranking (where i'll stay forever) help me a lot to just enjoy the game even in ranked. Otherwise because of stress, i would just largely avoid multiplayer. Dueling alone can be very rough for the nerves, quite a lot of players were paralyzed to play rank on Company of Heroes because of that (fear of dueling and losing military stripe associated with rank openly visible in game chat). And i agree with you this absence of precise stats probably greatly reduces toxic behavior.

1000 hours of Soul Calibur would be a pride ! Well... Still more than 1000h of cs:go. *facepalm*

Costume designs and languages being an anachronism... i mean we wouldnt have much of a game without liberties being taken in that regard. What would all the characters look like? Women wouldnt even fight period. I dont think anyone should complain about things like that.

I'm not complaining here, and I don't think anyone is. I think they just find it interesting, odd, or funny that there's more anachronisms being added to the series.

I had no regrets playing SCV for thousands of hours (I believe I maxed out CAS and Player Match). And I will have no regrets playing SCVI for thousands more. But need DLC soon, plskthx.

Since I work during the week, I haven't been able to play it a whole lot. I finished what I could of Soul Chronicle without Libra during that first weekend. Then I made about 1 CAS a day after work. Though I haven't turned it on today yet.

SC is good because it’s unrealistic. If you want an example of how bad and boring it would be if they made the game focused on realism and authenticity, just look at For Honor.

I'm annoyed by anachronisms like you are but not when it comes to certain things. People are "calling us out" on the hypocrisy of it but i'm just pointing out the clear reason for hypocrisy is because certain things would be detrimental to a videogame being fun and playable and that is why outfits for example get a "pass".

Cleared all of Soul Chronicle and some of Libra in the 24 hour session I did at launch. Since, I've done a mix of training, ranked here and there, and Libra. Only finished a good playthrough of Libra for now while working towards platinum, but kinda using it as a fundamental training to break old habits from past games with each style by going through the process of getting each of the styles' master titles. Trying to get through those final fights for the titles without knowing decent combos and lack of real character knowledge can be a pain. Worthwhile though since I learn a fair bit about what is or isn't useful with them in the process though.

On that note, since it's also helping me pick the order of how I'll actually fully learn every character, I've gotta say I'm surprised that Seong Mi-na became tied with Tira as my secondary. Liked the way her new moveset looked, but didn't think I'd enjoy using it as much as I did. Not normally my sorta playstyle. Hopefully if I'm quick about finishing up the Master titles and what-not for trophies I can finally actually focus on proper training and ranked like I want to.

I'm not sure you want to use a game where samurai, knights, and vikings fight a three-way war as your example.

Let's make that a 4-way with the Wu-Lin now. Hasn't been very historically accurate generally either, including the world being far different in comparison.
