*UPDATED* Soulcalibur + Bayonetta = Huh?

While its nothing new that Namco has featured guest character designs in previous Soulcalibur games; this new one its a bit of a surprise, considering the source. In a new report from 1up; it has been announced that Mari Shimazaki has optioned to create three costumes for the game, including Leixia's 1P.

Mari Shimazaki was the character designer who came up with Bayonetta. The 1up article also features a bit more information about how Shimazaki found herself with the job, and a drop from Hisaharu Tago in how Bayonetta was one of their original guest character choices, but was excluded because of time constraints. Future DLC?

Imma take Ivy's costume and change it to light blue or lavender.

Also, Ivy's costume DOES look like something from Bayonetta.

When Odashima Daishi tweeted that Ivy's 2p was going to be "revealing", I was expecting something else other than THAT. It's great to see that some people actually like it. I just happen to be NOT one of them.

It's still Ivy, but I'll stick with her standard 1p.

 

It sucks that we don't have a 1P-like concept art for these 2P.. I wanted to color them. :b

When I first saw Ivy's 2P, I thought she looked like an ice-cream wafer with that thing.

Now I think that if you changed all the yellow parts on her thing to red, she would look like Mother Christmas. :D

Two minds my friend, and what a dodge it was. That would have been a horrible choice.

For the most part the person who designed her knows how to make clothes so im glad her designs made it in, but not her character.
