Alright I really want to let this off my chest, I hate the announcer talking at the start of every match. I played SCV a lot I never know what the hell he's talking about and I can never get myself to care. I also feel that he talks over the intro to the stage OST and I don't like that.
Does anyone think he adds to the game?
Edit: Maybe it's his voice?
Yea, i dislike him too. I prefer SCIV's narrator/announcer more.
Actually, the first 2 trailers for SCV had the old announcer too, so there's that. But with Maximilian Dood claiming the announcer told him they wrapped up voice work for SC6 back at E3 ( i think?), i don't think there's much we can do/hope for.
Paul St. Peter is SCVI's announcer, same as he was on V. Though he does sound a little less soft spoken and whispering into the mic with his baritone voice as he did on V. That was awful. He sounded like he never drank his morning coffee before recording and just didn't give a shit about what he was doing. I think that's what I hated most about him being V's announcer. They tried to capture some kind of Mortal Kombat-like feel with him being the announcer to match V's dark and grittiness, but failed miserably because you could barely hear him over the music prior to a fight starting and whatnot. It was just bad. Really bad to the point where they could have removed it completely and it would've been better than having an unenthusiastic announcer who speaking so quiet and lowly that it defeats the entire purpose of having one.
I have noticed that on VI, when the fight starts, the "Battle (number here)!...FIGHT!" doesn't even sound like the same guy. But I guess they just gave him some damn coffee and managed to get him excited and record lines that sound properly excited and hype inducing for the round lines. Because that sounds like a totally different person how he was directed to record those this time, thankfully. As it invokes the epic, boisterous feeling of the past Soul Calibur series announcers.
@Vergeben Thx for the Taki leak/confirm! Even if I don't doubt about Taki, Cervantes, Ivy, cause they got too much value, either on fan base or/and Story Mode.
Thanks you guyz for all of your questions, I didn't expect that much. I hope they will not throw out my paper on garbage when they saw they 2 page list haha. Maybe I will rework it a bit. I still have 2 week at least to prepare it. So let's try to priorize all of this.
Anyway, my focus will be to test obscure things like lethal hit in the hour that they will let me.
I know that there will probably be beta for sure but I don't know when yet. Planning is very for obscure for now, maybe they are deciding right now if they will rush out the product and release it in June/July or they are convinced that it need some rework and wait for Sep/Oct/Dec.
A good thing to tell them now if our feeling about the actual game, if it seems finished or not. Like graphics, mecanics, animations, effects, sounds.... for me it still needs some rework especially on graphics.
Edit :
- I'am also a fan of Team Battle, even if nobody cares xD I've already adressed that in SCV when they asked us a review of the demo 3month before the release, but they didn't put it ... I will still adress it again x)
- Also the Museum was an awesome part for me, I remember that feeling of unlocking all the thing in it on SC1.
- Mission and SideQuest was also a super part and now Character Creation is also so good that they can't ignore it.
You're welcome,
@Hayate!
I know that it isn't THE most surprising thing and all for her to be back on VI given what the story is doing, but knowing that she is back is probably the most cathartic return for the fanbase (even to people that hate her lol) next to Kilik with his staff proper again on the game too.
I agree with all of what you said, questions, and concerns, and since a lot of people shared various sentiments and questions that I had, I guess I'll go for some outside the box questions that haven't been asked yet that you could ask:
1. Do they plan on adding bonus "Souls" (movesets) for Character Creation again? If so, would characters they don't have plans on adding to the launch roster or as DLC wind up getting in this way? For instance, because of the timeline, both versions of Patroklos and Pyrrha's movesets could be included this way.
2. Do they have any plans for bringing back any of the SCIII bonus movesets, like the the Dual Wave Sword (Curved Blades) and Grieve Edge (Bladed Shoes) in particular in any capacity? Because those two had the most potential and were the best out of those to keep around.
I'm still surprised they didn't create new characters to carry on the use of those weapons, if not just keeping them both as bonus character creation movesets like they were on III. But can we hope they might come back?
3. In character creation, being able to edit specific and detailed parts of a character's face more deeply is something everyone who uses the mode has been wanting for the longest time now. So, as straightforward as I can ask it, will we finally be able to?
4. This is more of an observation that becomes a question, but for years now, the weapons/movesets I see people online ask for consistently and probably the most at this point that has yet to be included in the Soul series is a
Kusarigama, ball and chain, and ball and chain styled flail.
Speaking strictly on the Kusarigama, my question then is, do they or have they had plans on adding a character that uses one.... eventually?
Because there's a lot of potential with that and serves a totally new purpose and style for the series.
I know the series always has a ninja (Taki, but Natsu on V, and Yoshimitsu and the Manjitou are rumored to be ninjas as well) so them adding another ninja who uses a Kusarigama would be a great inclusion.
Maybe a male ninja, and from a rival clan to the Fu-Ma ninja clan that Taki belongs to, or even rivaling Yoshimitsu and the Manji clan.
Sure, they don't even absolutely have to make the character a ninja either if they don't want to, though it would make sense thematically given what the weapon has connections to.
