Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

...Before I start why are people making a deal of the dude that gave Talim a shard of Soul Edge?

However, now that I have free time at the moment I am so happy that Talim is finally back! I love her new design and from the looks of it she seems to have new moves and she finally uses the wind in some of them.

To get into a bit of detail on her outfit I love that her SCII 1P and SCIV 1P are incorporated in her design. Her hat doesn't look hideous, I like her coat and no see through pants! My only peeve is that some parts of her outfit that look...fanservicy.

I think that a justification is that she comes from a hot climate, but still. At least it isn't as bad from her last appearance.

Than there is her CE... Talim are you trying to be a shonen hero? That aside I like it. She looks like she can move fast and now I am very eager to see some gameplay of her.

I can be happy to say that I am going to main Talim along with Xianghua and Zasalamel; and to make a stamp and some fanart of Talim.

This is a great day.

Let me say that the fact that she has bodyparts disproportionate is an anatomy matter: the more you are young the more your head is big (an adult human being is usually 8-9 heads tall, a little girl like Talim should be 6-7 times her head)
No, he's not saying that her head is bigger proportionally. He's saying that it's bigger overall. If you compare it to Xianghua's head, it looks bigger. I think this might just be the influence of her hat and hair making it appear larger. But I can definitely see what he's talking about.

So her look is like her SC4 (not SC3 like i said earlier lol) design with some changes. Nice.

Man i was watching some SC3 screens and footages and hope Setsuka will make into this game.
Sets honestly has a higher chance of being a DLC character rather than being on the base roster, same with Raphael and Cassandra.

I don't know about those being DLC characters, people would wonder/be a little annoyed why they couldn't just include them in the base game. I figure the DLC will be characters who are popular but fans would understand why they were left out (like Viola and Amy).

Yup. An extreme version of my point would be resizing a baby to the size of a fully grown adult. Here see these clips I've got from the trailer. Apologies for the quality, can't do jack about the compression.

Yeah, the placement of her hips relative to the other characters kind of emphasizes the problem:

They gave Talim the body of a young girl, but then scaled her up to be the same height (approximately) of the full-grown women. It's definitely a bit wonky-looking.

Urgh this is a personal thing but passing stuff through quality control like that drive me bonkers, almost looks Mugen amateurish.

It could just be an early thing for the trailer so that all the moves look like they hit properly, and they're still working on her size and hitboxes.

Remember you could change CAS heights/sizes in SCV which change hitboxes for the styles, and assuming you can do that again I wouldn't be surprised if they just switched Talim's height setting for the reveal before she's fully worked out at her normal height.

Pretty much everyone was expecting Talim next after the E3 questions about her so who knows, perhaps she was meant to be revealed later and they had to show an unfinished one to match expectations (like how a couple character models had somewhat unfinished looking textures that were improved later).

I very much doubt it, you're talking about major modifications because it's not about her hitting opponents, it's more about the other way around. While Yoda and Gon are extreme examples, Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken suffers with some of the same cheap advantages they do as moves/strings can actually miss. Keep in mind that for the main cast, Project Soul will want to keep them as balanced as possible for tournaments.

I added more to the post saying it but it's a pretty simple change they could do for a trailer if CAS heights are in again. They made hitboxes a little weird but didn't screw up too much.

It's a fighting game, so its probably some mechanics issue that is causing this. I dislike the new voice :( other than that, I am so happy she doesnt look anywhere near the way her face looks in the artwork. I think this is the best Talim face we got so far. The design is nice, though I was hoping for somethig more like her SC3 1p, loved that one. Cant have everything I guess.

I would be surprised if Cervantes was not the next reveal. I'm still surprised that Cervantes wasn't today's reveal. But he's been teased too hard to not be next, I feel like. Worst case scenario, they'll hold him until EVO possibly, where they might drop all the rest of the evil folks all at once, in Cervantes, Astaroth, Lizardman, and Tira. It's a maybe... but I personally think Cervantes will be the next reveal in two or three weeks.
honestly after today yes or if not him def another male character that im at 100.

So anyone notice any sort or pattern in these reveals? Alignment, nationality, anything, color schemes? Or is it just random?

You know a lot of you people that zero in potentially "problematic" (I hate that word so much) design choices annoy me to no end. Like, I watched that trailer and all I saw was Talim kicking butt. Methinks ya'll are way way too concerned about all of this.
