Soul Calibur 6 CaS Discussion

The race thing is cool and I like that they’re keeping a lot of the things they had in V, along with allowing us to use 1P pieces. BUT it doesn’t look like the layering issues (people looking chunky as fuck with 2+ layers on) have been mitigated, and I’m sad.

I can't lie, unlike many people I never really had the chunky issue. My female characters are rather varied for the most part, but all of my male characters are made to be rather abnormally muscular, so it's never really too much of an issue for me. Even if it did crop up it never really bothered me much.

The layered items don't look quite as bloated as they did in SCV, although that might just be the poses and camera angles playing tricks on my eyes. But my biggest concern is if item conflicts will be as bad as they were in V. Sometimes it made sense, but most of the time it didn't. Seriously, why can't I equip the waist ribbon with any of the skirts?!

Hmmm with the inclusion of puppet bodies, i guess that means no Ashlotte? Still possible i suppose but probably not. This also does away with Lizardman the character as well if its available as a race.

So, for stickers, I noticed there's still a limit of 8 stickers, only 4 per part. One thing is that the old sticker counter was replaced with a generic x/8 counter at the bottom right. Could this mean you can place as many (8) stickers as you want. 8 'bigs' or 8 'small'?

Also noticed that the sliders for patterns still don't have numbers... c'mon, man, lol.

Interested to see if they adjusted how patterns/stickers scale and rotate. Will there be more 'ticks' on the slide bar?

I know I saw screen shots on twitter that extra equipment is back. The sliders seem the same. We'll see how many you can put, but if the stickers are any indication, it'll be 3 again.

Kind of a weird feeling that it's sooo sinilar to 5, but at least so far it isn't a giant downgrade like tekken 7's customize.

I hope that at the very least that all pieces from SCV including DLC return. Since they're using so much from the past games to build their options, then hopefully we can at least get everything and add on to it.

Maybe it's asking too much, but if they're including DLC, then including the SoulCalibur V 1p/2p items, including the ones that weren't released before, would be nice also. They've done legacy gear before, so anti-legacy gear could have the same treatment. I'd love to have Hilde's 2p parts, as well as some others. And maybe this time, they'll give proper Pyrrha Omega shoes.

I think you can more or less be assured(?) that any characters that don't make the game will have DLC separate of the season pass so you can dress up create-a-soul characters as your favorite characters (from I-IV at least). They won't miss an opportunity for a cash grab.

So I wouldn't doubt if all the characters' 2Ps (and possibly 1Ps) from V were available.

Is it me or does it look like there might be shin armor? Some of the armor looks a bit more detached, and the marble statue is definitely wearing some sort of shin armor, unless statues can't wear shoes (which would be retarded)

Some armor, to be fair I think just about two, leg guards were feetless in part CaS, it would be cool to have more "layers" but I don't think shin guards would be all that useful, having upper and low body undergarments would be pretty cool though.

The race things is actually very useful, lets say you're trying to build a winged character, now you can do it without wasting a cape slot or if you want a elf, one less special equipment to be worried about.

New Famitsu scan indicates that body resizing works just like SoulCalibur V. Still can't resize heads, sadly, so overly large body types will continue to look strange:

I'm of the opposite opinion. Shinguards would be spectacular if they come up with enough shoes/sandals and things for the sock layer.

What i would have liked to see was them break up the leg and arm armors so that we can choose how long those are since a lot of them appear to be in "sections".

But my biggest hope was for them to split shoulder and arm equipment into left and right sides, allowing different pieces. Or at the very least allow complete removal for a side. That would have went a long way for customizing characters and should have been minimal work on the developers end i would assume. And if we look at the standard characters such as Groh or Ivy, we can clearly see how that appearance can make a difference.

Sadly, it doesnt appear they are allowing that because i would assume it would be shown in some of the many images already displayed. So far CAS is looking like a lot of changes that i dont care about with nothing improved that i wanted. Big dissapointment.

Wow, 100 character slots according to Kayane from the tweet posted above.

I'm looking at these two, and it seems like they're wearing the same gloves, but the zebra one has wrist guards on. Either that's just a new, all in one part or there's wrist equipment now? Also the yellow tiger striped cat girl pic floating around has her wearing a bandana with cat ears poking through.

EDIT: Also, these women are wearing earrings with physics on them. Might be apart of their 'race', or there's earring equiment? Could also just be a 'head' equipment, though.

There was earring equipment in SoulCalibur V, under extra special equipment, but I don't think they had physics, so that's new.

I'm not sure if it's been said, but we get at least some pieces of the standard casts' clothing items. (Voldo's back head mask and Xianghua's leggings have been shown in screenshots)

Yep, that elf dude also has Sieg's scarf I'm pretty sure. And one of the female customs is wearing Ivy's bodysuit under her armor.
I think I also saw a female character wearing Groh's coat? So it seems some things will be unisex which is nice.
