Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I wonder if this "2 month window" will still be the same for CAS parts? I'd like to think they at least wont drag that out between Amy and Cass. Actually we do know they at least arent stalling that with a reveal trailer AND a later release.

So far there was a 2 months gap between each DLC, so a future schedule following this existing pattern would be:

Amy - April 19
CaS Pack 2 - June 19
Cassandra - August 19

EVO US starts August 2, so I bet in order to make it in time for EVO it would not be too difficult for Project Soul to speed it up and shift each DLC at least a week forward, so instead we can have:

Amy - April 12
CaS Pack 2 - June 5
Cassandra - July 12

That way Season 1 will be fully complete before EVO, allowing for a grand announcemen in the style of T7 Season 2.

At the very least, they would switch the release time of CaS Pack 2 and Cassandra for EVO, though I think keeping it in the order you suggested would be better for sales.

Imagine we get a parody of Groh’s back being revealed, only it’s Cassandra.

Won’t balancing her also be a problem if she is to be ready for EVO?

Wow, the full list of EVO games is nuts. Fucking SAMURAI SHODOWN got in?? That's so damn cool. Also awesome that Under Night gets a spot, as I think that community really deserves it.
There is fanservice, and then there's squeaky high pitched wailing anime chicks in DOA. SCVI isn't that obvious about it
Long before the DOA fiasco, EVO banned R.Mika's and Cammy's default costumes from Top 8. This was apparently a concession to ESPN, which was going to be broadcasting the finals.

Obviously that won't be a problem for SoulCalibur VI, but R.Mika and Cammy are really tame in comparison to Ivy, Taki, and armor-broken anyone.

Indeed he used the plural, HOWEVER I don't think that means much (yet) ^^

(Inb4: s2 confirmed)

Would Markman even know that kind of information? I'm feeling he forgot that there's only one more character in the season pass beyond Amy.

I don't think it's impossible he knows secret stuffs about SC6, he's not in Project Soul team but still in Tekken Team and those 2 are super close at Bamco so he may knows, also if he works on some Esport stuffs at namco he may heard things, of course it's also possible that he just used plural cause he didn't realize that only 1 character is left to be unveil in SC6 SP. Only time will tell i guess lol Still tho, Setsuka for Evo reveal let it happen Namco!!

I do wonder if "Stone" actually means Rock though, mainly because I feel like selling Rock will absolutely flop in sales compared to the likes of 2B and Cassandra. For all we know, these codenames may not mean anything. I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least one newcomer in S2, particularly a new female. I mean, wasn't it rumored that they intended to include a barbarian female but couldn't make it due to constraints? Someone tried suggesting it was because she was "too sexualized", but, uh, it's obvious that isn't even remotely a concern for PS let alone a reason to scrap a character. They're not NRS.

So if that rumor is true, "Stone" could refer to the barbarian woman. I still don't know what "Yell" and "Yellow" mean and could be anything. Also, don't be surprised if we get another guest in S2. I'd bet it's Dante to align with DMC5 and he's popular in general (not to mention he was going to be the SCIII guest).

I think Rock being DLC is a mixed bag imo. If it really is him then it begs the question: What are they going to do with him? Considering Astaroth carries portions of his moveset (particularly his throws), I feel they’d have to rework and introduce a new moveset for him with his axe/mace in order for him to really sell and stand out. If they can do it with Mina they can do it with Rock.

With regards to the DLC of the second season pass, they can afford to be a little more free about what would or wouldn't sell if what @Sectus surmised is true, and the characters will be released in pairs.

Stone and Yell, if that's Rock and Li Long, will definitely mostly just be for old schoolers who know who they are and/or care about them. It's possible that Rock might could end up with something derived from Aeon's style from SoulCalibur V, since dual axes could definitely be a Native American vibe, and would set him apart from Astaroth in that way. It also works out to go with Li Long if he keeps his dual nunchaku style from SoulCalibur III, and thus this pair would be both dual-wielders and classic characters. If, for some reason, Yell is Hilde instead of Li Long, then I guess she becomes the selling point of this duo, and she also is using two weapons, though they are different, not a pair of them.

Star and Snow, if that's Yun-seong and Setsuka, will definitely appeal to a lot of folks, being two unique styles that aren't present in SoulCalibur VI. These characters are also both tertiary characters that don't really have a story of their own, but are linked to another, in Hwang/Seong Mi-na for Yun-seong and Mitsurugi for Setsuka, so there's another theme at work. Not really much to say about these two, they're both requested and unique. This is definitely an easier sell, which leads me to the last pair...

Reptile and Yellow, if that's Aeon and Hwang, will definitely get the Tira reaction, I think, in that it's pretty obvious that both of these characters were meant to be included in the base game, but weren't, for whatever reason. Unlike Tira, though, these two don't actually appear in combat, save for the one fight in Libra of Soul where you fight the Schwarzstrom, and technically Aeon among them, but he has nothing to distinguish him from the rest of the Lizardmen you fight in various other places. Hwang, though, is in both story modes and weirdly never fights. Still, there is definitely demand for these two, especially Aeon, for those who are left wanting a lot more from creation mode Lizardmen, who are really lacking compared to other races.

I thought I heard Amy was in March, hope I'm right but I won't hold my breath. In any case, I expect the S2 announcement at EVO.
The only thing that ever said Amy was in March was a post like ten or more pages ago in this thread that didn't cite a source or back up the claim whatsoever. All we have is "soon", and 2B was "soon" a month and a half before she came out, so April seems pretty likely. And if Amy is in April, it would then follow that the next CaS pack would be in June, and then Cassandra in August. We already have the two months window as a pattern, but Amy coming in April would solidify it that much more for the last two releases for the first season pass.
