Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

If the game was Soul Blade Timeline, it wouldn't surprise me that they would put LiLong first before Maxi. So why people can't let Hwang having his only chance?

I can understand the anxiety of not having Yun because of that (or Maxi because of LILONG if this was SOULBLADE remake), but most hints seems to indicate they can't do it without Yun neither. He is smally mentionned in Libra, he will probably appear in Hwang chronicles and his name litterally corespond to STAR, he is also strongly popular among the rest.

So you still want to ruin Hwang fans to have their character when it's the only time they can have it.

Imagine Maxi fans refusing LiLong in a SoulBlade remake?

I did nothing besides complain about Algol, Dampierre and Tifa

and please don't ever stop!

What will Hwang's arch-type be ?

He'll probably be another middle-of-the-road solid meat and potatoes swordsman (like mitsu or geralt) where he has strong fundamentals at everything but doesn't have anything too crazy and doesn't have glaring weaknesses

As a DLC, its not "take my money" exciting, except for the fact we haven't seen him in HD quality and that he's been seen in the Mina story line.

Li Long and Rock get the same hostility as Hwang, that they would rather have guests or someone new instead of these boring characters. This is just the way things are, haters gonna hate. Personally I don't think you've got anything to worry about considering the hex leaks, it seems that the fan outcry has potentially brought Hwang back.

As one of the three (as said by LisaK) other Yun Seong fans, the only thing that would potentially make me dislike Hwang would be if they gave him Yun’s crane stance and/or his unique movement options (land walk, crane swoop, and his backflips from crane).

That being said, I am actually excited to see what they will do with Hwang considering how they’ve handled the rest of the cast.

Ugh...I really hope we don’t get more guests. Three is good enough imho.

Why would they give Hwang the moves from Yun-Seong when it would be easier for them to just add Yun-Seong?

They can make more money by selling BOTH characters instead of selling one. If they were selling ONE they would only make Yun-Seong.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hwang does get most of Yun's stuff and becomes the main male Chinese sword user again. I believe it's his popularity that might lead to this decision. Because though he didn't rank as high as Yun in the popularity poll, for a character who was absent for 15 years, he ranked quite high. That shows potential imo. Enough potential for them to take this risk.

I think the most that hwang could take from Yun-Seong are some moves that Assassin and Yun shared in SC2. If they go too heavy with move swapping then it pleases neither hwang fans nor yun fans.

I trust Project Soul to do the right thing

I never like Yun in SC4 so i would be glad if that wasn't the case. I think the thing i'm really excited about is the new stuff he'll get. The DLC characters have all evolved in ways and got new moves and stances. I can't help but imagine what they'll do to Hwang.
