the part 3 was just published while the first two were from june.

I suspect part 3 interview was actually conducted in late 2019 after Season two launched, as they say "SCVI is going to be at Evo Japan next year!" and obviously Evo as we know it might be dead both in japan and america....
will be a good read.
Guess Kazuo Takahashi is the main man from here on out until SC7

Interesting quote here from the first paragraph.
For the former, I presented the project pitch in a meeting room full of board members and managers about six years ago. I told them, “I want to make ‘SOULCALIBUR VI’! ” and explained my plan. Everyone crossed their arms, frowning, and pointed out problems like “There are too many modes!”, “How can you create this title with such a small number of Developers?” As the board members and managers of BANDAI NAMCO Studios are also experienced Developers, they can immediately calculate the necessary time and money for development. Therefore, there is no way anyone could pull a fast one on them.

It's funny that so many of us, including yours truly have made claims that the suits of these publishers don't know what they're talking about when it comes to development and are only interested in returns. I'm not saying this is the case with all publishers (EA comes to mind), but it's surprising to see that the heads at Bandai Namco's have extensive experience programming outside of pushing pens. I don't know if that's a blessing or a curse because on one hand you have executives who fully understand the meaning of customer satisfaction, while on the other it's a difficult thing to get a game the go ahead if that intellectual property is dead or dying.

its an eye opener to me that they effectively go to top level japanese players and try to recruit them into game developers.
I recognized some of the staff as well known players, but I didn't realize it actually went down exactly like that. (just a chat at a food court during a tourney)

some choice quotes:

●Ozawa:... Moving on to the second problem. The development team (=Project Soul) was dissolved after completing ‘SOULCALIBUR V’. In particular, we had a hard time finding Developers capable of making battles.

●Yoshie: Yes it was. Because the temple is an icon of SOULCALIBUR, and this game is the only one created with a motif of the 16th century in our company’s products. As a flagship, we elaborated the temple stage, Mitsurugi, and Sophitia at first. And when we thought “OK, it’s ready for release!”, we asked to make that PV. Then, we began to create all stages and characters rapidly one after another based on the flagship. The process before reaching that point was the hardest part.

●Yoshie: Incidentally, Cassandra is wearing stockings made with a material which could not have existed in the 16th century. I devoted myself to express those textures. Our director and I are pretty fussy about stockings. (grin).

●Nakatsuru: Good response from customers is the best reward for Developers. It motivates us greatly, moreover, money can’t buy it.

●Nakatsuru: These three members including me (Yano, Nakatsuru, Yoshie) have worked for SOULCALIBUR for 20 years. It’s almost like our lifework.

●Takahashi (Yoshinori): Actually, Mr. Ota himself is a dedicated “fighting-game player”. That led to a breakthrough. There are programmers who tend to only think about the technical aspects, but Mr. Ota went about it with the passion of a die-hard player. I believe that we managed to get good results thanks to having Mr. Ota in the Battle Team.

●Takahashi (Yoshinori): Animator has been a kind of star since when the company was NAMCO. I believe our animation has excellent reputation.

●Iijima: Me, too. I really want to inherit it and keep creating cool moves considered as the best animation in the world.

Yeah this one gave me a chuckle. I'm tempted to send Yoshie a tweet on which stockings he prefers with a screencap of this quote.

I wonder if there is a chance Tekken, SCVI or DBFZ could get new ports for these new systems? While I know BC is a thing, there may be some willing to upgrade or give the game a new chance on a new platform...

(It would be useful to have a PS5 version of SCVI if there is no PS4 storefront/ BC storefront available on the PS5)

It's not impossible, but I think when you consider all the factors, it is probably unlikely. By the time the Tekken team actually wraps up work on the remaining slated DLC (whatever that ends up being) it is going to be well over six years since the game's launch. I have to think that by that point most of the critical staff and resources will be shifting towards planning/initial development of the next game in the series on the new hardware (if indeed that shift has not already begun to happen). I can't imagine it being a priority to port 7 at that point. Beyond that, it's not just a case of the 'backward compatibility'; it's really more about how games are now distributed as licensed content: the current industry trend is that once you own it, you own it across all platforms operating from a given company's hardware.

You could sell a different, new branded edition of the game of course, but the only way that is going to fly in the current industry/licensing model/expectations of social media raging game consumers is if you actually get a certain amount of new content. And again, that's more time (at least a year, maybe more, considering you are debugging and optimizing a game on new hardware, boosting its graphics and performance and creating new content) before they begin work on the new game which will almost certain bring in a much larger profit than a new version of an old game that only so many people are going to be willing to buy. And even then, if you do build new content, you probably have to offer it as DLC for someone who owns an older edition (at least, that's the current industry trend/expectation). So what stops a person who already owns the older version from doing that and dling the game on their new system? A handful of us in the hardcore might do it just for an upgrade in graphical fidelity and a few other edition-specific bells and whistles, but we would be a small minority among the larger consumer base, relative to the people you could reach with a new game.

Soulcalibur VI is maybe plausible. It's subject o many of the same issues of the forgoing paragraph, but it perhaps benefits a bit from where the gameis at in development. One way that Namco could subvert expectations and maybe still make some money, is by offering free upgrades on the graphical fidelity of T7/SCVI as downloaded on new generation hardware: this could just boost the sale of the base product (without the need for rebranded/new edition to license and find out how to distribute without pissing people off), as well as any future DLC they might like to produce thereafter, rather than leaving that sweet post-release season pass support gravy train in the last generation. I think that approach has real potential, but I'm not sure I see it happening any time soon.

I hope we will get update like some other games already announced, like TW3. In some other games it's paid (like 10$), for others it's free like Witcher 3, for other you have to rebuy the game like the controle game.

Would love to see this for T7 and SC6, but just don't make it that you have to rebuy the entire game, just make it upgrade for free, or (for worse case) make it paid for 10$ (but it should be free tho)

can anyone tell me what is updated with samurai shodown ? Is the graphical fidelity buffed up accordingly (even though I don't see how much more detail it can add given its aesthetic choice)

As of now it just seems like a prettier port. Nothing has really been "announced" for this new version content wise or graphics wise
