Anti-Character Discussion

i have played oofs yoda a few times one night and he barely beat me, but i didnt just play the duck 2A game. it was alot of A+Bg. what was worse for me was his vader and that RO throw and all that guard stun.

last night i got to play alot of maxi vs maxi with marginal and krazy. it was the first time ive been up against a maxi like that. you have to keep very short loops and no predictable BL KK. ofcourse we were playing online so alot of RC KK and BL KK landed but it was almost always through psl1 and 2. the thing is anytime you overextend you will get a 2A. l learned alot about broken rthymn looping to avoid 2A. i used alot of 4(A+B), and went for alot of RO's. marginal was landing a ton of RC A and using 236K well. RC B works good because it avoids 2A and catches them ducking RC KK. basically maxi vs maxi to me is basic fundamental stuff using the expert knowledge against the player. i need alot of practice though because i always assume their maxi to do what i would do in a situation and i guess wrong alot.

so any other maxi's want to get some games in? im on both systems. marg, lets do it again soon man.

That was a surprising room. 3 Maxi's. By the end of the night, I felt like I had rocks grinding together in my head. Maxi vs Maxi wears me out mentally like nothing else.

Depending on how much I'm thinking, I'll usually start mixing in 1B or 2B with the 2A to keep RCB from being as much of an issue.

well hell guys. lets make it 4 maxis...lol. would love to get a few rounds in with you guys to. its been to long anyway marginal.

maxi mirrors------ftw!!

HRD, you're not RROD'ed for the moment? Holy cats!

I've been kinda avoiding Live just 'cause my sticks keep flaking out. Online's goofy enough without my A button etc randomly crapping out mid match. (If I ever dash in and then do absolutely nothing or a random B etc, that's why.)

On topic, how do you keep pressure on Asta with Maxi without looking like a gimp? I usually end up fearing 6K to the point I don't do much but a few AA's etc when I get in close.

I would love to play online with u guys too, but the lag is too insane, ask hotrod haha how it went :)

1B and 2A is key vs Asta seriously. 1B and 4B spacing seriously works wells. I don't recommend much looping vs ANYONE honestly....Asta is no exception. I abuse strings vs him where i know he can't interrupt readily cuz he's slow. Can't go through it right now, unless necessary...it's kinda tedious to explain it all :/

yea playing against good mixup maxi online is mentally draining. i couldnt play another round that night. marginal you arent the only one that was having asta trouble as you could see. i couldnt find a way in and my GI sucks online.

but yea trying to guess maxi online is tiresome. if they were to have an offline all maxi tourney one day i think my brain would explode. can you get 3B in on maxi after a blocked 6A before he can get off RO A? i dont have the game on me for the day so i was wondering.

damn im seeing that on hit you can 6A+B under the RO A as long as you wait for a split second as RO A has a slight step to the right and thats the reason i couldnt get 3B to hit. it seems 6A starters for maxi vs maxi or just in general arent worth it.

I wouldn't discount 6A entirely. If you does some searching on the posts, i believe its nominated as one of his top 10 moves or close to it. You just can't get predictable with it because its most common followup can be TC. But its too good of a move to discard entirely. It closes range very well, its fairly fast, and it beats step.

6A -> psl4_5 is a sexy strat i use sometimes. I sometimes get ppl backturned with it.
People need to stop abusing 6A -> RO A, and think of 6A -> RO B (on hit that is)

6A is great for interrupting/punishing attacks from a distance, not so much for initiating your offense from a standoff. When you just wanna start attacking, i mostly use 4B and 3B.

Hey guys I haven't ever had much trouble against Raph, but today I ran into some trouble, I couldn't get any attacks off first, and he was really fucking fast, (prolly the best Raph I've seen) we both had 5 bars online so it wasn't the worst in terms of lag, but I felt like I could barely get attacks off.

well first what moves post block are you trying to attack him after and what move are you using? his B strings?

what i was saying about 6A is yes it is a good ground coverer, fast, and all but on regular hit 2A beats the RO B, so you have to guess whether to RO K even on hit. sure they have to guess to, i guess i just wish it had a little more + on hit. i still use the move though dont get me wrong, nobody is a robot. just maxi vs. maxi it has to be toned down to the bare minimum.

could someone help me out with this scenerio. you block sieg B4, what do you do? keep blocking? also i just need general help vs sieg. like getting past the block stun and when to attack.

from my experience Raph is difficult for Maxi largely due to spacing reasons, it's hard to keep on him imo and he outpokes you pretty well at mid range

sieg B4 is neg on block but only slightly, sieg B:4 is slight advantage on block. I would say pick your option based on how they behave after it is blocked. block the first time to see what they do and try to counter that the next time he does it. beware that because you are in a crouch state and he is not, he will have much greater mobility and will be able to dodge careless attacks

against, B4, just use WR A after you block. The move is super quick and evasive, allowing you to either beat or clash with all of his follow-ups. Careful about becoming to predictable with this, as it is punishable if he just stands and blocks.

yeah what uber said. WS A in force crouch situations is gold when used intelligently. It will stop pretty much everything if he attacks.

Raph is not so tough. 44AB, 33K, 8WR left A does great vs him.

Alright, i think we should talk about Yoda. As i'm sure you'd all agree, this fight is just retarded. Most of you best options are useless, so you need to get really comfortable with the B and G button. My arsenal tends to be limited to:

44B
RO B (sometimes whiffs on Yoda, how fun)
BB
3B
2A
11B

Doesn't that sound like a fun fight. Anyways, what do you guys do, other than just go grab Siegfried and spam 3B like theres no tomorrow.
